“Absolutely Delicious”

On 9/3/2022, I bought Teavana Chia Tea from Starbucks. It was absolutely delicious. It was so good to me that I went to my Walmart app and had the Lemon and Ginger tea delivered to my home the same day. I give Teavana 5 stars. Great job. Keep doing what you do. Everyone has a different taste palate.

Absolutely disgusting in every way possible! I heard this is what Starbucks uses in their drinks, and as a Starbies lover, I had to purchase some of this. I purchased the Jade Citrus Mint Green Tea. Seriously DISGUSTING! I mean, just ew. Tastes like straight mint mixed with dirty grass. If this is what Starbucks uses, they must be putting crack in it to make it taste even slightly edible. I wasted $7 on this, and I will be going to get every penny back. I have never spit something out so fast in my life. I will never purchase from this brand again. I can go get free mints at a restaurant and pull some grass from my yard and put them in my mouth together if I ever crave this nasty "tea" again lol. Never, never, never, never, never again.

I just bought two different loose teas at their store, but when I got home, I discovered that one of the teas had not been put into my bag. I immediately went to their website, hoping I could contact someone through the website. Their contact link doesn't work. It keeps giving error messages. I'm fairly certain it's on purpose, because even I know how to make an easy contact link on a website. It's not rocket science. Now, my only recourse will be to drive all the way back to the store (the thought of which I dread) or to fill out a credit card claim challenging the charge.

I recently have encountered a problem with the Teavana's teas.
They include old, dried worms, that start floating right on top after brewing. I found them in vanilla flavored earl grey and a simple white tea, too.
This is disgusting.
When I lived in another state, I never had this problem with Teavana. But now in Akron, OH area this is what I found.
I'm not going to shop for loose tea at Teavana anymore.
Have to explore Whole Foods store from now on.
I am very disappointed with Teavana.

DO NOT ORDER FROM TEAVANA'S WEBSITE! You pay for next day shipping but they told me they can wait until up to 48 hours to process your order. Their shipping information states that if you order by 12pm, they should have it out that day. BAIT AND SWITCH! When you call they give you the run around and tell you there are no managers. I have the name of a "ghost" manager but they never got back to me. AWFUL COMPANY!

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE THIS SITE!! THEY ARE AWFUL!

Horrible customer service. Bad business practices. Duplicated my order without my knowledge and "robbed" me of 72 dollars.

I placed an order online at teavana.com for White Chocolate Peppermint tea (on sale for $31.50 but paid $25.07 w/ promo) and added on "Steep it simple" tea sampler (for $13.93). I also paid $9.99 for expedited shipping. I used the Starbucks card to pay for the total of $48.95. After couple of day of no email in regards to shipment, I checked the order status online. I found that my order was on hold, so I emailed customer service, inquiring about the delay and asking to cancel the entire order if there is a delay as I needed the items by a certain date and can purchase in-store if needed. The next day, I got a response stating that the White chocolate tea is out of stock and has been cancelled from my order. But the tea sampler for $13.93 will be shipped at the $9.99 fee, for a total of 23.92.
I called customer service to cancel the entire order as paying ten dollars for a fourteen dollar item is silly when I can purchase it in person and not have to wait. I was told it was too late to cancel it and to contact my financial institution and dispute the charge. Apparently, this would send a red flag and they would cancel the item at that point. The only problem here is most financial institutions do not allow disputing a charge when the transaction is still pending and wouldn't the item ship by the time a dispute is processed? Additionally, this does not apply in my case as I used my Starbucks card. I received an email stating the same so I replied back to the email. When I mentioned the Starbucks card as my payment source, I was asked to call back again to give my Starbucks card number for a refund of $23.88, once the tea sampler ships. Again, if the item has not shipped yet, why not cancel the entire order, also why is the refund only $23.88 when I paid at least $25.07 for the white chocolate peppermint tea? Finally, why modify my order, ignoring the promo codes, expedited shipping etc without getting in touch with me when I had already attempted to contact Teavana preemptively to address the delay? By the way, the White chocolate tea is still available for sale online, no out of stock message. I asked multiple times for a supervisor via email. The agent I was corresponding with simply ignored my request and gave me the generic explanations. This has been one of the worst customer service/online order experience I have had.

I don't even actually really like going to the store. For some reason, their store associates are always standoffish and/or try to oversell and then act disinterested when you refuse.
Online, Teavana has better deals compared to the stores so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Get cheaper tea and avoid store associates. They had a promo for free 2 Oz of caramel truffle if you order a certain amount. When my tea came, I got a random English Breakfast tea instead. I called them and they said they ran out of the caramel truffle so they replaced it with the English Breakfast. First of all, the English Breakfast is around $5/2oz, and the caramel truffle is $10/2oz.
It's mighty cheap of them to substitute something of less value, instead of another one of equal value. PLUS, you can still order caramel truffle online so obviously it's either a bait or switch or they decided to limit free caramel truffle teas to what, like 50, and then stick other customers with some lower value tea.
Second, I can't drink black tea because it's bad for my stomach. I'll have to now give it to someone else. My call with them didn't resolve the issue. I emailed them and they told me they couldn't address my issue over email and told me to call their customer service. Basically, they don't care about you and don't want to resolve your issue. It's YOUR fault for buying from them and if they screw up, it's YOUR fault and they don't care.

A friend introduced me to Teavana a few years back, and it replaced my usual tea shop visits for a while. I went crazy a couple times and discovered that not ALL of their teas are great, so it's best to go into the store first, if possible, to try them out. I myself love mixing the Jasmine Phoenix pearls http://www.teavana.com/The-Teas/Green-Teas/Jasmine-Dragon-Phoenix-Pearls-Green-Tea.axd with another flavor, like the strawberry pu-erh or any of the strawberry flavors: http://tea.teavana.com/?D=strawberry&Nty=1&N=0&Dk=0&Ntt=strawberry. I've also purchased some different Darjeelings for a friend, who said that he enjoyed them. The teas come in sealed bags to ensure freshness, and although some folks say it's a bit pricey, I find that the flavors are strong enough for some that you can reuse them.

Don't place an order online unless you're prepared and have time to deal with a lot of hassle and come out on the losing end.

Employees are not given problem solving options even if they're the ones who created the problem. This is a business problem because my experience was terrible no matter which employee I talked to.
If you have a complaint there is nobody to turn to. The person who takes your call has no supervisor you can speak to and the emoyee is instructed to "make a note of your problem" which is never addressed. I'm still waiting for a Teavana supervisor to respond to one of these "notes".

My experience was this:
I placed my order
Gave my address
Teavana associate said my address wasn't accurate (weird because this house has been here for 50 years!)
Gave my address several more times and mentioned the shipping address would be different
Still my address was not OK with Teavana.
I gave the phone to someone else hoping the Teavana associate would accept my address from them. They reminded Teavana associate that shipping address would be different.
Finally Teavana accepts our address and says order in complete.

We're like "But you never took our shipping address. This is a gift!"
Teavana associate says "Too late, orders in. You can't add a shipping address until you receive your order confirmation. "
We are told confirmation won't be there for another hour.
One hour, several hours and several days later and many more phone calls and still no confirmation!
Talked to several employees. None have a supervisor I can speak to. I'm told to cancel my order and re-order losing my sales of course!

Total waste of my time. I could have shopped anywhere else and had better cx service. I've never had this much trouble shopping online. This is not an employee problem. This is a garbage company whose higher ups aren't training properly and who could care a less about cx service.
This is tea... so not worth this kind of hassle!

The worst customer service ever!
They are currently having a 20% off sale on 1 lb. of tea. So I bought 8 2 oz. Packages of $9.98 majaraja chai. I know this is my fault, but I didnt realize until after placing the order I was charged $103 rather than the $80.00 I thought it would cost. I emailed them immediately, but didn't hear back all day. I have previously emailed customer service and never heard back, so I called them. The rep said even though 2 oz. Is 9.98 (lets say $10), a pound is $103.8×10 is $103? That's a misleading policy from a company who says their customers mean the world to them on their website, and is oqned by starbucks. Shame on me for not being more careful, but they would not let me cancel even though I sent a request in seconds after placing th order, the representative had the nerve to imply I shouldn't be upset because I "only paid $75". But THAT WAS AFTER THE PROMO CODES WERE APPLIED TO THEIR INFLATED CHARGE. Ugh. The worst.

Not a good company to do business with. Yes, they have great selection of teas but you can get blossom tea at Amazon for much cheaper price and BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their website is clunky and made an error on my orders on Black Friday. Never shipped them. When asked, they said I had to re-place the order at regular price. Then, they shipped me the wrong shipment and they want me to pay for shipping to ship it back to them OR send it through their Teavana stores so they could ship it for free. WRONG. They Teavana stores DO NOT SHIP BACK TO THEM. It's all a crazy company to be dealing with. Not worth the hassle.

Went in to buy my favourite earl grey cream tea. Only to get home and try it to find its tastes off. It's hard to explain but I've been drinking this tea from different stores, restaurants etc for many many years it always tastes the same. Not from teavana! It's has an almost chemical or fake flavour to it! I'm so upset! I spent $17 on a bag of tea I cannot bare to drink!

So bad! I bought 2 tea sets on sale for $29.95 and when I got them they looked nothing like the picture. Very very poor quality. The handles weren't even attached. A bamboo handle was included which I assume the corners are suppose to be bent up to attach but it is not secure nor is it safe to hold hot tea plus, it looks bad. I also bought this bamboo tea set which my co-worker said looked like it came from the $1 store but unfortunately I paid $13. The customer service guy was totally rude and said it states on the return label that sale items are not returnable and the tea sets will be shipped back to me!. Well in very small print I found where it said that but I still don't think its legit to falsely picture items. Never going back there again!

Got the most beautiful tea set from there. When opening the box found that one of my plates was broken. By the time I brought it in they said there was nothing they could do because they discontinued that set, fair enough. But after I left, before they realized my mom was still in the store they huddled in the corner proceeding to talk about how I was attempting to scam their company out of money. Once they realized my mom was still in the store they scattered.

I'm an avid tea-drinker, but I just find this place insanely over priced. I purchased a canister of tea and I was flabbergasted when the cashier told me that it was over 100 bucks! Unless this tea is gonna make me superman, I am not spending that kind of money on tea. I ended up purchasing a lesser quantity, but I didn't find it to be anything special. I likely will not purchase through them again.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter both as a regular customer and a fellow business owner. I am very offended by a practice so ubiquitous across your stores as to tell me it is informally if not officially encouraged- I am referring to the tactic of pouring excess tea onto the scales then casually saying to the customer, "is this alright?"; for example, customer says he wants 3 oz. Of a given tea; after the salesclerk has put some tea on the scales, he will offhandedly say, "Is 3.4 ok?". I've even had your salesperson add. 8 oz. To an order. While I'm sure in the short term this strategy pays off, in the long run it projects an image of seedy pushiness that telegraphs- this is not a business to be trusted.

Ironically you are now owned by a company, Starbucks, whose reputation is one of unimpeachable integrity- no pushy or deceptive tactics- Starbucks has earned its faithful followers because we know they are forthright- if their employees are driven by commissions, I never feel it (which is all that counts).

With Teavana, it's the opposite: people bark the product from front of the store, they PUSH you continually while in the store, then, once they've succeeded in selling you something, they manipulate you further by furtively selling you more than you ordered.

My hope is that Starbucks will bring its more enlightened formula for business success to its otherwise promising acquisition. In the meantime, I will buy my tea online.

Thank you,

Joe

Just put in my first order and get excited. I drink tea every day and a co-worker let me use theirs and i ordered one the very next day. The tea is great And the handy tea stepper that automatically pours in your mug or cup when you set it on top. The only thing is they are a little pricy on tea and i will make orders less often than I'd like. But i love the products. Great quality and so good.
