Star City Games is literally perfect. They have a great inventory, great prices, great reputation, great card conditions (when they say 'near mint' it is literally perfect), and you can ensure all your cards will be real. What really does it for me though is the shipping time. Holy sh*t I order something on a Wednesday and it comes in Friday morning, and that's when I select the cheapest shipping option. I live on the opposite side of the country. I genuinely have no idea how this is even possible.

Melee needs work. Floor judges were confused. Terrible experience in Indy. I've been to dozens of events and I have never experienced anything like this. The head judge was power on a trip. Overruling floor judges that made calls and owned their mistakes. I will no longer support a company unwilling to adapt or admit their program needed work.

I ordered items from StarCity games September 6,2020 and received my items Spetember 21,2020 I was very impressed with the speed of the shipment as the shipment was international, them being based is the USA and having items shipped to Canada. Prices on products were very fair and I was able to get these items cheaper than other sites despite the difference between USD and CAD. Items I ordered I was also not able to find anywhere else of the web. Overall very impressed, will definitely order from them again and would encourage friends and family to do the same!

Cut me over half the value on cards that never left a binder/sleeve. Cards sat in a hot warehouse for 4 days before appraised. Sleezy business practices, sell in person to avoid this.

I had been a customer at Star City Games for several years before the incident that caused me to drop them like a hot potato. Several gold bordered MTG CE/IE cards I bought from them were obviously drawn on with green crayon along the border. Their customer service agent and "professional graders" insisted that this was a "common issue" due to wear and tear.
After reaching out to 3 major online Magic retailers about this issue and hearing back that nobody was aware of this supposed "common issue" - if it were so common, surely a Google search would turn up more information right? This is one of the most popular games in the world after all - I realized that SCG is just another entrenched, entitled company whose customer service policy is "deny, deny, deny". Every other customer service issue I brought up before this attracted the same attitude of indifference to improve.

Tip for consumers:
Expect to be argued with if what you receive isn't what you paid for.

Card games are the best entertainment for me after a hard day. I play lots of card games starting from poker with my friends, ending with heartstone with people from the whole world. I can't understand why I like card games, but I know that this is the most attractive thing in my life. I recently decided to try something new for me and actually found this website. There are plenty of games here and I even tried couple of ones. Basically, everything is okay, there are no issues at all, at leasy I haven't faced yet. I hope I will never face issues here because I adore this service. Strongly recommend to all those who are addicted to card games.

This place is really bad, they grade your cards lower than they are, charge more than everyone else and have been caring less and less about the people who show up in their shop person to play or buy. They also changed their website a few months ago, making it harder to browse for things and sometimes harder to find what you need, a site I like to go to which has a much better search area and price is TCGplayer. The employees working the register at the in-person store in Virginia are quite nice which is the only thing saving it from a 1-star review.

Customer service was fantastic and the process for selling to Starcitygames is super clear. They give very fair prices for cards, that said expect between 10%-20% discount on the total you expect as they are quite strict on their grading. I have also purchased from them before. The prices were fair, the parcel well packed and the quality of the items great.

Bunch of scam artist at work here. Money is much better spent at card kingdom. Ben bleiweiss cannot be trusted and will lie to your face.

Just began collecting MTG and found my way to SCG website. Pricing seemed fair and so I set up my account and placed a test order. I ordered 7 old, but inexpensive, cards and chose standard shipping. I received the order 5 days later and was very pleased. Order was well packaged and all the cards appear to be in NM condition... even though one of the cards was listed as being Lightly Played condition. I am personally very pleased with how everything went with this order. Also... I should note that I did receive
An email with a tracking number when the order shipped.

When I went to Indianapolis 2022 Event, I was treated horribly. I would be belittled when I asked questions about rules, Judges would argue with customers and other judges, and they do not care about customer service. When I asked about a device that died on me, given to be by judges, they would cuss me out and call be an idiot, stupid, and other names. They kicked out many people for not agreeing with Magic the gathering rules, saying judges were being rude, or when they asked for new wristbands to play a round of games. Although I used to do business with Star City Games, I do not think I could do business with them after what they had done at Indianapolis

I ordered about 120 cheap cards (like $0,15 to $0.5 each) to Chile. The shipment was fast (USPS International Priority Airmail, around 10$) and the packaging incredible, it resisted Chile Post's savagery flawlessly.

They canceled my order because "it was the wrong price", funny how they canceled out of nowhere but charge you if you cancel pre orders

Thieves, chose yo give my cards a lesser grade than deserved. When i asked for another look, they came back with the cards in worse condition, including heavily played and inking on side. These were not the cards i sent them. Now they requesting funding to send back to me. Seems more like a ransom. And i know i wont be getting my cards back. Horrible buisnes practices. By from them during sales sure, but i feel i dealt with some hobbit- hipsters.

I had a nice experience with this company. My order arrived in two days and I didn't even pay any extra money. Actually it wasn't an urgent order but was a pleasant surprise. Thanks a lot!

I paid for the express shipping and it came within 2 days. 5 time ive bought from this place and not a single problem. No damaged cards. Package was nice and secure. Deffinatly recommend

My initial feeling was that Starcitygames offered great prices for your cards. I was excited to be offered nearly $5,000 for my collection of cards, which I felt was a fair price. My first complaint is that in the first ~2-3 days my cards were in the cart, nearly all of them went down in price. I suspect they used my cart/cookies to see which ones I wanted to sell to them, and in turn they reduced the value ~$250. Okay, fine. Not happy about it, but fine. Sent them out, service was friendly, I was exuberant. Upon grading my cards and receiving an approval email I found that they marked down my cards $1,200! Nearly 25%! When I was expecting at most 5-7%. As if they weren't already going to make thousands of dollars off the exchange, they felt the need to sap me out of more. I have been playing MTG for over 10 years and have knowledge of the guidelines people use to grade cards. That being said, their grading was unacceptably strict and the official price they offered me was laughable. THERE WERE NUMEROUS CARDS THAT I EITHER OPENED IN A PACK OR BOUGHT NM, NEVER PLAYED WITH, AND THEY MARKED AS EITHER LIGHTLY OR HEAVILY PLAYED. Now I have to pay for shipping AGAIN to get my cards back. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT sell your cards here.

I was very pleased with my experience when selling cards to the company. They replied promptly and even upgraded some of my cards that I had listed at SP to NM based on their assessed condition. I'm not used to such an honest experience with a company. I haven't purchased from them yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

I couldn't find a place to write a review on site, so the second best option I found was this. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Amy and the customer service employees for working with me on my order. I placed a preorder for 2 Origins fat packs and was anticipating their arrival. Once the tracking showed it was delivered, the post office informed me that they delivered it to the wrong person, and effectively lost my package all together. I don't understand how that can happen but people make mistakes, and I was lucky enough to have Star City Customer Support to help me out. Thank you again for all the hard work you do, it is greatly appreciated and I plan on being a life time customer to your store.

Prices are higher than other competitors such us TCG player and Card kingdom. There is also little to no inventory in the, "The world's largest Magic to Gathering store," and has no cards to sell.

I was very pleased with their service. Items shipped right away, were received in good condition, and were expertly packed. I will definitely be shopping here again. Prices here are far better than local retail stores and they had good stock. They were missing just a couple items I wanted, but the vast majority of products I wanted they had plenty of.

Prices are slightly higher than you find elsewhere, but the items ship in a timely manner and they have a wider range of items in stock.

I did have one hiccup, when UPS had completely lost their entire morning's shipment for about three days. Starcitygames contacted me to let me know of the problem, and kept me updated with information as they got it. The shipment arrived without incident, aside from the delay.

I will NEVER order cards from Star City Games ever again:

When they screw your order up and make it so you can't play at a tournament because the expensive stuff you bought from them wasn't shipped until Wednesday even though you placed your order on Monday... don't bother calling customer service because their assistant manager Becky will be passive-aggressive and rude to you, and then when she asks for proof, don't bother forwarding the confirmation information they request because their head manager DJ won't even have the decency to call you--just email back until almost a week later to accuse you of fabricating your completely unaltered, legitimate proof.

I was so mad I wanted to just send it all back and buy the exact same cards from Channel Fireball, because they know how to treat their customers, but Star City wouldn't even refund me the priority shipping I payed for after they messed up, so I STILL would have lost money going that route.

I don't even know what else I could have done short of shipping my entire laptop to them so they could see I didn't alter the email verification I received from them. And I am like the most honest person ever, so aside from being mad about my wasted money, I was highly offended by their highly inappropriate accusation.

Poor business, would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

The shipping was on time, however, the cards weren't as described. A lot of NM/M I ordered were either SP/MP (white scuffs on the card) and some were even HP (white scuffs and scratches all over the card). The pricing was more expensive than other stores so I expected better quality. I can't imagine what their SP/MP/HP looks like since I order all NM/M. I tried contacting their customer support to inquire about this problem and they acted oblivious about the issue telling me that I was wrong or don't know anything. Won't be buying from them again. The plus side is, their site is good as a reference for prices, but aside from that, I would definitely not recommend buying from this store.
