“These products cause cancer”

Emma B.
8/8/23

I was on the phone with their customer service due to a defective product. The customer service agent was very rude and left incredibly long pauses, deliberately, to aggravate me. During this transaction I looked up the company and found that evidence suggests that the Growth Factors in these products may be linked to cancer. Because of the data, this brand is cannot be purchased in the EU.

Worst possible allergic reaction after using this stuff. Sent me to the doctor — red, itching, burning and hundreds of tiny bumps. So sore can't sleep. Getting married in 2 days and in a complete panic. Using Dr prescribed topical steroid. Was part of a spa facial and unfortunately bought some and used it that evening and the next morning. I am not the only one; many other reports of the same issue. Avoid at all costs.

I purchased approx $750 worth of product and was all in on the system from a recommendation from a friend. I used it intermittently for the 30 days and had a reaction. Multiple times I called Cust Serv and was on hold a long time so I hung up. Finally spoke with someone on day 31. She thought they would make an exception on the refund, but wanted me to speak w another department to document my reaction. I did. They sent me a shipping label to return the product and I returned it. Now they tell me there is no refund. So I basically just handed over $750 with no product. Does that sound right to you?

I have used the SkinMedica Neck cream for over a year, every night! I had a horrible reaction a few days ago! I know that is what caused it because that is the only thing that I put on my neck! It's like a burning blister sunburn! The thing that really puzzles me is that I've used it for so long without a reaction. I had a reaction to another SkinMedica product but it was after using one time. I know one thing, I will NEVER use their products again!

I recently called customer service line to report a bad pump & to get a replacement for my pt. The man who answered the phone was either in a bad mood or hates his job. Skinmedica is such a great brand & our practice purchases many many inventory from them for us to have experiences like these with customer service- not the 1st time either with the same guy.

I had the halo laser treatment, and my doctors office recommended their post care products: TNS Essential, TNS Ceramide Treatment, Restorative Ointment, and so on. This product caused a rash on my neck, back of neck and chest, swollen eyes, eye irritation, itchy hives. Absolutely would never recommend this product and do not pay their outrageous price to only end up suffering

I used the skin
Medica vitamin C&E cream and the serum which were given to me as a sample. I used it for 2 days and felt some tingling thinking it was ok. OMG was I wrong! Ended up with severe burns and swollen eyes and neck with a raised rash. Never ever again!

If you look at the women's photos "before and after", below the description, you will notice the photos "after" badly photoshopped. It says to me about many things like, for example, people from The Skin Medica are not sure in their product, using photoshop to convince customers to buy the product is unethical. If I would had paid more attention to the photos I would have not bought the cream for more than $300. On top of that, my skin is not sensitive, but I got an allergy on this product. In a perfect world I would like to return the product and get my money back. Dont replete my mistake. Dont buy the product!

This product was given to me from a dermatologist, and i thought wow I can't wait to use it. I cleaned my face the night before and put it on right before bed and in the morning I wanted to cry, my face was so swollen and red and my face looked horrible, luckily I was able to see my Dr that day and she prescribed prednisone for the inflammation. Not all products are meant for everyone. Be careful when using.

This cleanser is highly perfumed. Can't get past that and wonder why, in this day and age of moving towards fewer unnecessary and reactive ingredients, SkinMedica (from Allergan Corp.) would include fragrance in a cleanser.

I had a SEVERE Allergic reaction to the TNS Essential Serum that sent me to the hospital twice in 38 hours. First developed itchy, painful, raised welts accompanied by sores on the inside of my nose & mouth with such severe swelling my right eye was swollen shut. My mouth hurts so bad I have not been able to eat for 5 days. Then developed SEVERE eye, ear & jaw pain that was unbearable. Was placed on steroids the first 24 hours followed by heavy duty antibiotics with the 2nd trip to the ER. I NEVER have allergies to anything. Missed entire week of work. Not worth it. I purchased this off Ebay but sure it was is a genuine product.

You can't open the bottle you can't see the product. I trusted Skin Medica website ordered 4 of their best lines spent 600+ dollars. Used the TNS by itself to see if it works cost was $295 after 2 weeks of using 1 drop mornings 1 drop evening I was going to use it for a month before I add the other products I bought from them. A few days ago nothing was coming out of the bottle tried everything but it's empty. I used it as directed on their website. Ridiculous and disappointed. Expected more from the company.

I had a facial where they used SkinMedica products. The day after my facial I woke up with red and slightly swollen eyes, by the next morning I had red blotches on my face and very swollen eyes. The facial I had was called the diamond glow, the spa was convinced that I had an allergy to the tool (nickel) they used and not the products. After taking a steroid to heal my skin I decided to get back to my new skin products. I started with TNS Serum in the morning and by the evening my face started to itch, I had extra wrinkles under my eyes and they were swollen. So I guess my first allergic reaction wasn't the tool and was this product instead! And like some other reviews I have never been allergic to anything before product so I have no idea what is in this "safe" product.

Okay, I'm checking in early to say that by stopping the HA5 and TNS, I am completely back to normal. My face definitely is less smooth and hydrated, but I'm grateful to have figured out the culprit of the allergy. Something changed in their formula. Very disappointed that I spent a lot of money on these products that promote a medical type of beauty product. I am going to report back in a few weeks again because I've had a strange autoimmune anaphylaxis condition ever since I started the HA5 2 years ago. I never thought it could have been that product, but my condition has drastically improved over the last week! I'm shocked and I will keep you posted!

Skin Medica products are NOT what they were pre-Covid

HA5 and TNS under eye serum were my favorite. They were expensive, but would last me forever by adding a dab of water to the HA5. I bought them from a reputable spa a few weeks ago and the first night I used it, I woke up with swelling under my eyes with wrinkles that looked like I was punched in the face. Because I am an allergic type of person, I ruled everything else out. I'm shocked that it's the Skin Medica products! The reaction hasn't gone away, but I haven't stopped using the products because I figured there was no way it's the TNS or HA5 since I used them with no issues for years. I will stop using them and report back here in one week. Unbelievable!

I assumed Dermstore to be reputable, but was very disappointed.
I'd found a Skinmedica (HA5) product online that I wanted so ordered it. While on the site I was offered a special price for another item (vitamin C+E), so ordered it to try. Also included was a tiny sample of that product.
When my ordered arrived, I received ONLY the Vitamin C+E and sample. Checked online for help and it showed I had received complete order, and charged $228, the majority of that charge stemming from the HA5 which I did NOT receive.
When I contacted customer by text the responses didn't even make sense. The wording was so jumbled I had ZERO idea what the service rep was explaining to me. Finally, it boiled down to "yes you were charged $228, did you still want the product you paid for?" Due to "latency factory", whatever that meant, they were unable to ship HA5 - yet the charge remained!

Tip for consumers:
Think again

Woke up in the night with my entire face swollen. Headache and burning eyes. Will never use it again

Tip for consumers:
Apply just a small amount and leave it on overnight to ensure there are not bad reactions prior to applying it to entire face.

I won TNS Neck Correction Cream and the Instant Bright Eye Cream in a raffle at my skin spa facility. I am SO sorry I did. Applied both of the creams daily, after day three I woke up with severe swelling around my eyes, face and neck and my face and neck are red as if sunburned. After reading others comments I sure hope my skin doesn't develop bumps or any other problems. There is something in TNS products that is causing severe allergic reactions based on all these comments and they really need to address the issue! I will look up ingredient lists when I have time see what they all have in common. If you have sensitive skin I would STEER CLEAR of ALL TNS products!

Although I do like several skin medica products, their customer service is beyond dismal. I ordered TNS in April, and one chamber never worked. After several (approx 6) contacts with customer service, and after promising to replace the product they never did. So, I purchased another TNS from local dr. Office. Have since run out so again reordered through allle/skin medica. 12 days have passed since I placed the order and was charged for it, but had not received any info about the order. So, called to inquire and was told it was due to weather, which is understandable, but some communication would have been helpful since they already charged me for the purchase. I then requested to speak with someone at skin medica about product usage, and have been on hold so far for 57 minutes... UNACCEPTABLE! For anyone hoping to get help using products, or have questions don't expect any... u are on your own, and for products this expensive that is unacceptable customer service. This will be my last skin medica purchase and I'm hanging up my 57 minute hold call

I purchased the Skinmedica Lytera and Retinol Complex after a facial. I did not open them for several months until I used up my other products. When I used them, they seemed discolored, so I contacted the office. I was told they were too old. There is no expiration date on either of the products, and I have other products that are fine after several years. Very disappointed!

SHAME ON SKIN MEDICA AND ALLERGAN!

Bought skin Medica $500 from dermatologist in July 2021. HORRIBLE allergic reaction! Steroid shot, Medrol Pack, eye drops, steroid cream the works. 4 months later still battling the BUMPS all over my face! I'm 54 with clear skin and now I look like I have teenage acne & whiteheads all over my face.

This has cost me $1000's of dollars and no permanent fix. The stupid steroid has caused my hair to fall out in clumps. This product needs a disclaimer and needs to be reevaluated!

At fist it makes your skin tight then swollen then BUMPS! I'm considering hiring an attorney because this is unfair!

DO NOT BUY SKIN MEDICA TNS!
It's GARBAGE! I still don't know if my problem
Is permanent!

Tip for consumers:
A Disclaimer that some people react and may be permanent and costly to treat. How to treat and restore micro biome balance to the skin. They should tell us what the risks are..

Bought Lytera 2.0 and the Essential Serum. My skin reacted horribly... itchy, severe redness. I bought both from Overstock and just now found out Overstock is not authorized sell any of Skin Medica products. Check out Skin Medica's website. Now I'm uncertain as to what chemicals are actually inside the products that overstock.com.

In the past I have used Skin Medica's skin care line and it was wonderful. However, I purchased the first time from a dermatologist. This time, I thought I'd try buying it through Overstock... never again. Scary!
