My son scheduled a carpet cleaning with Sears and the finishing result is horrible. Of course you really can't see the full affects until the carpet dries. Moved in to this ridiculous carpet and no way to continue Sears directly. We chose Sears assuring we was picking the best in its class, but apparently not.

They showed up, crawled into my attic, claimed I had mold - never opened the unit or looked into the ducts, I know because I marked the screws - and offered to treat the mold for $2500. When I requested that they just do the duct cleaning we agreed to, they refused. I showed them the door. What a scam!

I scheduled a steam cleaning for my living room area rug and bedroom thinking that I was going to get a professional job done number one the technician they sent out his equipment was broke down in the back of his truck he ended up dragging a big machine in and soaking my carpet down and just going over it with a steel vacuum I have a shag rug and it was totally soaking wet when he left I am now using fans and things hoping that it does not mildew because it is so thick but it is totally soaking wet I believe my rug is ruined you cannot get in touch with any managers or supervisors only a scheduling person that tells you they will get back to you in 48 hours I have called my credit card company to dispute this I will further take action and take them to court if my rug mildews do not use them

Sears arpet cleaning service is a scam. I contacted Sears because I thought they were a reputable company and because of their carpet cleaning special of $129 for 4 rooms and a free hallway. They were supposed to come out on 3/20 to shampoo my carpet but called to say their truck broken down and they had to reschedule to Monday afternoon. Next, when they arrived, they looked at the rooms and said they needed to charge me an additional $70 for my hallway and near my front door because they would have to deep clewn those two areas. I called the *******505 number to complain because I said that was not stated when I spoke with their office and said all of this should be explained when talking with the representative. Then, I asked the tech to just give me the service covered by the $129 because, as a senior citizen, I was not prepared to pay the additional $70. I told him I had completely moved everything off thr floors so they could shampoo for 3 days now and needed him to just give me the regular steam cleaning. At this point, he told me I either pay the $129 plus the additional $70 or he wa not going to shampoo my carpet. When I told him I was not going to pay the additional $70, he told me, I am not shampooing your carpet then and just left. What Sears is doing id a total sham and a scam. They should explain to customers what their policy is, or at the very least tell customers that they won't shampoo or steam carpet if you don't request additional services that they don't order or want. I still have all of my furnishings and belongings up off the floor while I look for another company that is reputable.

Tip for consumers:
Check out even companies that have been around a while.

Another cleaning company.

2 days after the service, I turned on furnace, little to no air flow in a 25 foot room. This duct was putting out a strong flow prior. I called them twice, never received call back one month later. Now I am stuck with only one vent working in living room and am worried about winter.

I prefer with NO STAR, the experience for unpleasant overall. Poor customer service on the phone. They're all hurried up to hang up, impatient and rude. The company advertised air duct cleaning special packages, but I ended up paying way more because the crew wouldn't do it without upselling furnace cleaning or doing other chemical treatments. Then I realized the specials on the website are for upselling. The crew asked for the payment before they even started. And I've been requesting for the invoice in the past 2 days and still haven't received it. The only experience that I can state positively the crew did their job.

Tip for consumers:
Poor customer service!!! The crew did their job, but please aware of the specials at the company website are for upselling.

Sounded like a great deal. There is a saying in there somewhere. Pushy sale guy, scare tactics on wife and hype/mold, etc. Called Enritec (or something like that). He laughed. Long story short, they were long over due for a cleaning, the $1500 was for vent replacement (1) and return vent repair also on top of the vent cleaning. And they financed it.

We ordered carpet clean service from SearsClean.com. Today two workers came to our townhouse for carpet cleaning. They asked me if you need protectant and didn't tell me about the increased price for adding protectant. I think that this original service should have protectant. After they finished the cleaning carpet, they give me the new price more $100 than the original price.

I'm worried my 95-year-old father was a victim of the scam. He was quoted $400 to clean ducts and ended up paying $4300. He was told he had mold and they gave him the UV lights.

A/C duct cleaning is a scam. They go straight to the AC unit and find "mold" reason why they can't do the job when that is exactly the reason why I requested the service to start with.
Bad service, false advertisement. They should be out of business!

Just ask to see the equipment before they clean... it has dirt from a previous job a day before or doesn't work properly. No training/cleaning certification per tech! Vent cleaning will be up to each tech... get estimate and call them later it will be different. To the point they laugh in store of how gullible you were. Sears HAD a great name and reputation... THEN. When inspecting the coils of the AC unit you can get the UV light from a box store for no more than$50... Don't get sucked in to believe it cost what ever they can get... the sky is the limit$$$$$$$$$$$ NOT NOT FUNNY FUNNY. I laughed them out my House.

I contacted Sears Air Duct Cleaning to clean my duct work in my home. There was a $199 special for 20 vents. They came and serviced the ducts and claimed everything was complete and clean. When we turn on the air conditioner later, thick plumes of dust sprayed out of all the ducts and coated all of our furniture, floors, carpets, and everything else in the house. At that point, I inspected a few of the ducts and they were filthy and coated in dust. I called and they came out a second time, cleaned the dust in the house and cleaned the ducts again. This time they told me I had to spend another $300 to make sure this didn't happen again. I foolishly spent the money. They finished and left. Later that evening, I went to check the AC filter and it was totally clogged with dust and chunks of large dust. I replaced the filter and the next morning it was again completely clogged up. At this point, I cannot use the system at all. Then I opened and inspected another duct. It was again filthy and coated in thick dust. I was not cleaned at all. I called them again. They sent a manager and I was told they were no longer going to try and clean anything. They sent a text and said they were refunding me $200 of the $500 I spent and then totally cut off communication. I have included picture of what they left AFTER THE SECOND trip to clean my ducts. All I wanted was my ducts cleaned. I am $300 in the hole, have an AC system I can't use, and still have dirty duct work. Do not make the same mistake I did. Avoid them at all costs! Again the pictures I am posting are AFTER they were finished cleaning for the SECOND time.

While arranging for a Sears refrigerator repair, the scheduler asked if I would be interested in a Sears air duct cleaning promotion, $179 for 18 vents and $199 for 20. I scheduled for Thursday morning June 1st even though the scheduler wanted to schedule for Wednesday May 31. The cleaning group called me to confirm Thursday morning at 8am and the scheduler ALSO called me back to confirm Thursday would be fine. I was not home Wednesday, but my husband was. He was awaiting the Sears refrigerator repair service. At the designated time, a Sears truck pulled up outside our home. An enormous man came into the house and started ordering my husband around. "Calvin" said he had been told what he was supposed to do, but he said he wasn't going to do it. He told my husband we needed $3500 worth of services. My husband said no we didn't but Calvin wouldn't leave. He plugged in ear-splitting machinery and proceeded to perform the services I had specifically said he should not. We have a 40 year contract with an HVAC company and they perform services twice a year. In the end, my husband was so intimated by Calvin's size and color, he agreed to pay $2200 to get him out if the house plus a cash bribe (requested by Calvin) to knock $1000 off the $3500 bill. That evening we called Barclay's bank to dispute the charge. We sent a report and receipts to Barclay's Billing Dispute department. They reviewed the documents and told us to work with Sears cleaning company. Barclay's closed our dispute but we are re-petitioning that decision. We called Sears; all our phone numbers have been taken out of their automated system, so we can't easily connect with an agent. We finally found a way into Searscleaning and after explaining our problem, was called back by a first line manager. She was aggressive and rude. She hung up without allowing me to speak. She said my husband should have called the police if he felt so endangered. I phoned our regular HVAC company and asked for an air duct quote. They said "your system is due for its 5 year cleaning; the price is $1145." I was researching information to include with our letter to reopen the disputed Barclay's charge when I found a FOX NEWS - DC Television report from 2019. It highlighted Sears cleaning scams in Prince George's County, our county. It is relatively
Eady to find additional scam reports from other areas of the USA. Absolutely do not use Searscleaning services at anytime for any reason.

Tip for consumers:
Once you complain, Sears removes you from their auto-recognition phone system, making it doubly hard to reach anyone.

Products used:
Air duct cleaning. The promotional pricing is a bait and switch upsell scam. The equipment used blows dirt throughout the house and makes ear-splitting noise. The entire sales team is in on the scam, including at least 2 levels of management.

NEVER CHOOSE SEARS DUCT CLEANING! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Instead of the District Manager JOSE apologizing for MISSING 2 appointments he actually just scolded me for being disrespectful to his calling center! I am in utter shock. Now I know why Sears of going bankrupt because is LUIS is leading his team to the unemployment line!

On 5/12 I made an appt for the 20th. No show no call so then I made another appt and asked JOSE to call me. HE NEVER DID... and guess what my 2nd appt NO CALL NO SHOW. When I called... I was told they had to reschedule again. I didn't accept that. Finally got that tech coming and then JOSE said' I don't want you to be disrespectful like you were to my call center!' Are you kidding me? No apology, no I understand and I am sorry. Scolded me... the audacity! I cancelled the Sears duct service and I am pleading as someone who is in customer service 24/7... NEVER HIRE SEARS DUCT SERVICE... YOU HAVE BEEN FULLY WARNED!

I am embarrassed to say that I was a victim of the Sears Scam. I made the appt. For a duct cleaning. After 5 minutes, Jose was in a panic saying that I had to leave my house because there was so much mold in the ducts and unless I put in UV lamps, I would be ill in a few days. He even said he was surprised no one in my home was sick yet. He was such a great actor, he had me hook, line and sinker. I fell for the UV lamps and paid an astronomical amount - 100x what I was ready to pay for Duct cleaning, but for fear of poisoning my children, I agreed to the amount. I asked, but never received pictures of said mold, and the remediation of them cleaning it out. I called multiple times for the images and the assurance of the contamination is complete. It never came. Within 4 weeks, both bulbs started to fall out. Continued calls and appts. Made, they never showed up to fix their mess. I must have made 3-4 appts. With them to come and fix the falling-out bulbs. Then one even went out - and they are supposed to last 375 days - it wasn't even 3 months yet. Finally, 4 months later, they showed up and fixed the falling-out bulbs and replaced the one that was out. Come to learn that not only are the ones they installed not doing the job they said they should - they are too small and are in the wrong spot - but that the whole thing will be replaced anyway because where they put gets replaced with a new AC unit anyway. Needless to say, I am embarrassed that I was foolish enough to fall for the scam, but more so that the cost was 8x more than what it would actually cost.
Please let my loss, be your gain, and NEVER USE THESE GUYS. THEY LACK INTEGRITY, EXPERIENCE, HONESTY, PROFESSIONALISM, and most of all, they prey on the vulnerabilities of human kindness and concern.

I booked for the 3-area carpet cleaning for $99 for my moving out. They canceled at the last minute as their technician could not show up (I have to pay $70 fine to my apartment for this cancellation). On the next day, they postponed my schedule again from morning to afternoon, I kept calling them to make sure that I can return my key before 5 PM, but they just kept saying it would be between 1-5 PM. The worst part of this was when the guy showed up at 3 PM, he denied to clean my room with the price I booked! He wanted more than $200! He said, "If you do not let me clean now, no one else can come at this time. You will never be able to return the room on time" I denied to pay anything more than $150 because they already canceled my schedule and caused me a $70 fine, He kept saying no one else that I can not schedule any cleaner at this time anymore! Luckily, my apartment manager and maintenance came to check out my room and saw the argument. So they said, "Don't waste your money with him, the carpet was at the time of changing anyway".

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Had my ducts, blower, & AC coil cleaned. It's turned out to be a disaster. Even when you reach out to the company to complain and provide pictures of the problems, they do not respond with a resolution. BOSTON MA office.
Their initial quote is useless. They don't tell you up front the true cost of what it would cost to clean your system or what options are available/recommended and there cost. They informed me that I have to notify them 2 days prior to the schedule service if I was canceling the service. They quote one price, but when they arrive the price increase from $800+ to $1300+ as they added on the additional items needed to clean your system.
As you can see in the picture this was the blower AFTER the cleaning. I was able to wipe the walls and pull out clumps of dust/dirt. One of the workers that was up in the attic steps off the wood platform and punched a whole in the ceiling to the floor below. Although they charged $25/ per vent, but they did not take off the covers on the ceiling vents to clean the ducts. They don't cover the vents as shown on the picture in the ad, to get a better air pressure. So the air from the rooms in the house is being sucked in through the vents when the vacuum is on.

When I contacted the company by emails no one responded for almost 2 week only to say they will pass the message on the their manager for the second time. After about 3 weeks I called the main number for Sears duct work but it was only a agent who could take a message and have someone from Boston call you back. When the representative (Jen) called back she stated "that was the best they could do to clean the blower and they do not take the blower out of the machine to clean it as other companies do". She stated she was referring my concerns to a manager. To date no one from management has called or come to address my concerns.
