If I could give it zero stars, I would. I used to love going to this site, but now it won't even load due to ads. The comments were the only reason visited. They switched from Discus and now there's nothing to read. Bye.

Horrible writing (Marenah we are looking at you) and moderators who will not accept opinions or polite criticism - one can only agree with the party line and only join in the chorus of hatred towards the usual reality stars targeted by the site.
If you have been banned, rejoice in the fact that if these people reject you, it's because you are better than them :)

To those blocked, The site is nothing but a big clique anyway with catty writing by bloggers who don't like certain people they blog about. It has a its own little culture on there of grown women and it's really worse than some of the shows they get on their high horse and rant about under the umbrella of it being snark. I think most of the writers probably failed at real careers or are just bored house wives.

This Reality Tea BS needs to be shut! This site gives a false statement of a recap on shows. Its distasteful, disgusting, DISCRIMINATING! Spreading HATE is never alright!

Whoever write reviews on this site really need to educated themselves on issues they are not familiar with and those that are culturally specific before giving their opinion. Their style of writing has such a strong tone of cattiness and arrogance when it's clear they have no idea what they are talking about. I'm not blocked, just surprise to see blatant prejudicial statements in their reviews.

People who frequent this site tend to say absolutely horrible things. Anyone who disagrees gets personally attacked. It needs to be cleaned and deloused.

I have been banned twice now from Reality Tea for very innocuous and harmless comments. One of which stated that" "you will be banned from this site if you challenge or disagree in any way with any of the bloggers here." I find it interesting that the bloggers, like Mary, can ridicule and make fun of Kim Richards, a person who suffers from alcoholism. Anyone suffering from this debilitating and often deadly disease does not deserve to be ridiculed and made fun of, but yet this is what Reality tea allows on a daily basis. The vile comments these bloggers make about people is truly hideous, but don't you dare call them out on their B. S. Stay away if you know what is good for your soul and may they rot in hell.

The ban screen shot they showed me wasn't even me. The name wasn't even right. This is the same person that banned me before. Jon something. Chinese or Japanese name.

I used to visit RT daily and comment on my faves often, always within the guidelines, as they have a reputation about being really stringent with the comment policy. I always comment on the story and don't attack other posters nor do i use profanity or hate speech, etc, however I would be blocked/banned usually weekly, i'd try again a few days later and be able to comment fine.
I reached out to MOD to ask why and I was first told I wasn't banned by RT, it was Disqus (which is BS b/c I was using Disqus to comment on other sites and was not banned or flagged for anything on Disqus). The last few times I was banned and sent an email to Mod with NO response. But a few days later I'd be able to comment. The final straw was sending an email about 2 weeks ago about why I was banned YET again and able to like posts but unable to comment, no response and no reversal. What a piece of crap site... they Don't deserve their following. PLEASE post other sites for discussing reality tv commentary with others. Would love to take my support and dialogue elsewhere. -Your Mama

Definitely not all inclusive especially one of their contributors Mary. I'd argue she has lingering issues that do not have to do with the show that spills into her recaps strongly.

Very off putting and distasteful to blatantly say such catty or inciteful speech knowing she has a small platform. Hate to accuse people of strong prejudices, but her tone comes across very clear. She should read her thread on another site. Whether she denies it or not, too many people see it and it drags the site down being a huge contributor.

Way too many ads, random videos playing, site not structured in the way that ads won't cover articles on desktop versions, and horrible search engine.

Audience seems like more mature women wanting to stay in touch. May be outside of their demographic in several senses.

Reality Tea will block you in a New York second if it's not the "company line" which means there are around 9 commenters on the thread who rule as long as they follow the likes of the RT writers. God forbid if you disagree with a writer's position! If you do, you will be BANNED. You will never receive an explanation! But if you should comment again, a BIG RED BANNED will pounce on you.

You will never be told the specifics of WHY YOU WERE BANNED. That message will just pop up!

I was permanently blocked from REALITY TEA (using Disqus) by the moderator of RT. I was attacked by bullies when I defended the Humane Society of the US. A woman kept posting and posting how HSUS was evil. I wanted to make sure people would still go to their local Humane Society to adopt since I had just found 2 great dogs there. I was immediately accused of working for PETA and being "undercover". WTF? Anyway, all of these crazies started posting how they loved killing animals. Seriously? I guess the moderator was uneducated because she believed I was an undercover activist? I was blocked for standing up for animals and HSUS.
Worst of all, the person who hated HSUS was a breeder. Anyway, after contributing funny, intelligent commentary regularly to Reality Tea, I was permanently blocked by a bully who said, "I just flagged you, Freak." I didn't even know what he meant. Well, the people who were being graphic about killing animals were left to continue to post while I was thrown out. I wrote to the moderators, hoping they would look at my previous posts and realize I was a good contributor, even complimenting their writers. I did not have a history of arguing with others. Nothing from Reality Tea. No response. No recourse. I continue to see graphic, offensive posters posting away on Reality Tea. No rhyme or reason. Very unfair. Its their loss! And Disqus does nothing to help except give everyone your email so that you are permanently blocked even if you change your username!

They block kind, intelligent ppl. Not trolls like Texasgirl...

Some time ago an article was written by Mary as a recap for RHOA. Mary is a very white woman from West Virginia, who seems to casually appropriate the tone of her snark at the best of times used slave imagery and black history to mock Kenya Moore (see: underground railroad etc...). I VERY politely commented on this, saying that I wasn't sure that was Mary's intention but that it was unacceptable and offensive. Quite literally hoards of crazed bullies started attacking me, some being bigoted and others rabidly defending Mary against polite criticism saying that I was too stupid to understand snark. I was banned and they remained. I rarely agreed with the "company line" and often pointed out false information, glaring errors etc...

They (meaning Mary) also allowed a barrage of transphobic comments to exist on specific posts, encouraging them by toeing the line herself. She clearly uses the site to attack people she doesn't like on shows (esp Bethenny), feed her ego and pimp her ghost writing/consultancy business - which is rich considering the very dire standard of writing on that site. They desperately need a copywriter or just some proof reading.

It's not snark. It's vitriol and sometimes bigotry. Bullying is encouraged as long as it's on her behalf or against the same people Mary has a problem with.

TrashTalkTV is far better for recaps, anyway.

I am surprised there aren't more reviews about the interaction and tone on realitytea than just a few since I know people have been blocked for various reasons. People probably don't care enough to leave a review like I am doing since it's an entertainment site.
The commenters on there can make the site fun if you are of a somewhat like mind and have mutual respect. A lot of them do go overboard however and really seem to take reality TV personal. God forbid, you don't like someone like Lisa Vanderpump or don't hate Brandi Glainville because you may get barraged with comments as if it's a town flogging.

What I do not like about this site is what some of the bloggers call snark. If they don't like a person it is as if they can not get help themselves but use their blog to do a borderline hate campaign instead of recapping a show's episode. Mary is one of the main bloggers there and is very talented. However, she has a bad habit of using her blog as some sort of personal vendetta instead of begin able to recap an episode without all the vitriol. The people there like to call it snark but it's just mean spirited behavior. Some of the hated ones for the blogger Mary are Kenya Moore, Brandi Glainville, Bethenny Frankel, and Erika Jayne. You would think Brandi killed someone with the level of hate that is on the site. It's like okay, you hate the woman. Is it that serious? You will read people say they love to read the recaps but don't watch the show. Well most of it isn't recaps but "snark" which is based on the blogger's own issues with people depending on the day. It seems that some of the more independent commenters are overwhelmed by those who worship on cast member or they intensely hate someone. There really isn't much balance on the website in commenters and I think there is a reason why that is so. Snark isn't mean spirited vitriol about people that is relentless and endless. I question some of the people who blog for this site for years as having some talent but being a bit off themselves. It's not normal to have the ability to write hateful things about people and not question why you are attracted to that form of negativity in your life year after year. The kind of negativity where you are putting people down constantly and feeding into hateful and mean reactions. However, condemning the ones that try to be more thoughtful in their comments. I would not tell anyone to say away just be aware that snark is a code of mean spiritless despite what some try to classify it.
