“I love Ravelry!”

Ravelry is the best knitting/crochet website out there. I love the free patterns, and the way that pattern developers can become well-known through the website without necessarily getting their patterns in books. I also love the feature of being able to look at photos of other projects from a pattern. You can see how it looks on various body types if it's a garment, and then you can ask people questions through messaging.

@handmade_with_Shaz,@Guildova Designs The only stalker here has been a woman called Shaz. She and her several profiles even contacted people who reacted to my posts, friends and family members. The Grand Lace Tablecloth is the diagram version from the Gelana Tablecloth by Natalia Grevtseva. This is stated by Olga self and free charts still available. Someone took the opportunity to make up a story and claim the copyright, even when the diagram writer Olga posted it for free. Disrespectful is to find a way to own her pattern, after 2 years of her death.

I purchased a pattern 6 days ago and have yet been sent the link to download it. They have been paid according to my my bank and after over 6 emails sent to Ravelry I have received zero replies except for an automated response that someone will reply as soon as possible. Good thing I am not holding my breath. I have ordered from Ravelry in the past and did not encounter any issue but this is quite aggravating!

Bought a pattern I found in Ravelry "Grand Lace Tablecloth " via Etsy, where the Dutch version is sold. Found out pattern is available for free and free tutorials are available in YouTube. Looks like Ravelry does not accept such comments and Shaz from Handmade by Shaz, Guildova Designs and who knows how many more characters this lady has took over a copyright for a pattern still free available. No more purchases from my side.

Amazing amount of patterns and other users projects to browse. Unfortunately the site has become unfriendly place for those who disagree with them. Now after the new website skin causing migraine and seizures to many users Ravelry has called those liars and refused to go back to the old one untill the problems are solved with the new one. This used to be inspirational and important place to me but now I am planing leaving it.

This site is really cool if you are a crafter. I love to crochet and there are so many great patterns on here. There are many great free ones, but I wish there were a little more that were free. Also, there have been a few instances where the links they have didn't go to the actual pattern, which sucks when you have decided on your next project. Overall it is a good site though.

Been a Ravelry member since 2010. Love it. The folks here are supportive, kind, and encouraging. Learned everything I need to know about weaving on a rigid heddle on Ravelry. Never had a problem with purchasing a pattern. Incredible collection of patterns (many of which are free). Wonderful forums and groups on every topic. (Harry Potter knitting - you got it; Spinners who like to weave, you got it!) If you're new to Ravelry, keep in mind that the vast majority of knitters on here are individuals, not big yarn companies or knitting designers. Knitting/crochet/weaving are passions. If they post and sell patterns, the vast majority will be helpful, supportive, and honest. But they may also have day jobs, so you may not hear back from them right away. All in all, I'd recommend Ravelry to anyone that wants to learn about the fiber arts and is looking for kind supportive people to engage with.

Tip for consumers:
Don't listen to the bad reviews. Ravelry is a great site with great people.

Ravelry no longer accepts Trump projects or supporters EXCEPT if you make projects that say "$#*! Trump" or pin cushions with Trumps head. A "no hate" platform has become quite a divided space and ridiculous. Ravelry made a political stance based off untrue statements, it's disturbing that yet another platform takes a side and causes more division.

Does anyone else get an introduction about "the size of the human assh**e and how a racoon could fit up inside it when they access the Ravelry thread "Lazy, stupid, and godless"? I was thrashed by one of the moderators for "thread $#*!*ing" and just wonder if this what everyone else sees when they check out this forum on Ravelry. Is it funny or clever? I don't think so. Seems offensive and posted by someone who is strangely preoccupied. Lazy,... is billed as a sometimes wild forum but is primarily woke and conformist.

Way back in November 21 I purchased a knitting pattern as a gift for my cousin. I made an error in typing her email address so she never received the pattern at this time - well, actually, she never has. This is why I need to let anyone purchasing a pattern for someone - don't make any typing mistakes! I have contacted the creator of the pattern numerous times (I've lost count) and also Ravelry. I feel very disgruntled at their lack of interest in giving me (or rather my cousin) what I paid for and not even having the courtesy to respond. I am loathed to purchase it again, as why should I support someone who can't be bothered with a very minor problem. It's not the cost - it's the principal of being ignored! Not a happy bunny. I will not be purchasing from Ravelry again - shame as there are so many talented creators. Buyers beware.

I'm a rather politically moderate person, not American, not living in North America. Ravelry lost me as a customer with it's non-stop push of super left-wing agenda. Why must there be gay and trans flags at every turn? Why did they ban patterns or write-ups supporting one political party/ candidate and not another? I used to visit the site for information about yarn, reviews of knitting patterns etc. but having to wade through endless socio-political commentary (even the commentary that I agree with) became too much. Enough is enough.

Oh, and as an aside, I am able to access my account from my android phone but with exact same sign-in information, I cannot sign in on my laptop. This technical glitch was the last straw. Bye, gurl!

I believe everyone is entitled to live as they choose and love whom they will. However, I neither believe that any one lifestyle choice has the right to force their opinions and beliefs on others, nor do I care to be lectured to. I also choose not to be confronted with BDSM imagery and sex toys on the main sign in page TO A YARN CRAFTING SITE as a demonstration of "inclusivity", "wokeness" and "LGBTsupport" during pride month. The Ravelry admins are letting their personal causes, interests, and lifestyles interfere with running their business by continuing to exclude, alienate, and lecture. Enough drama; I'm out.

I deleted my Ravelry account when I was called a white supremacist and racist by the owners. I'm a crocheter of Puerto Rican heritage who walked away from the Democratic Party and voted for Trump (after voting for Obama in his first term). Don't know why this is even an issue on a craft site, but the people who claim to be so tolerant only tolerate people who are part of the same group think. This website is an unfriendly place and will only add stress to your life. Don't bother with it!

What more needs said? This isn't a fiber arts community. It's a political website with a radical left leaning agenda. They make no room for anyone who disagrees and even allow and promote mob mentality of people going after those they disagree with. I deleted my account due to the hateful atmosphere. I'm not a right winger, but this site is out of control for anyone that doesn't cut/copy/paste their politics.

The freedom to speak your own mind, this is possible outside of Ravelry. Within Ravelry, however, it isn't. Just as I prefer to spend time with those who have diverse opinions and perspectives, I prefer an online knitting community with similar values. That isn't Ravelry where only one view is permitted. No matter how many patterns they offer, the cost is too high.

I was part of the Ravelry community for years. While there, I overlooked groups, statements, projects, and profile pictures that I found offensive or vulgar. Choosing instead to utilize their pattern database and mind my own business. Unfortunately, their move to censor and ban certain groups who did not agree with their ideology, while ignoring the vitriol of those who did was too much. Therein lies a slippery slope that I want no part of. Of note: This site claims to be inclusive but they have a management staff that is 100% white. How is that "inclusive"?

Best knitting/ crochet site on the web. More so because they have banned the pro Trump racists who can't seem to understand that by supporting a man who preaches white supremacy, they are in fact sanctioning his racist policies. If you are not a racist or white suprematist, why on Earth support one. It's lovely to now be able to chat about knitting, search the thousands of patterns etc without racist politics being involved. All the people on here are nice now. The

As a conservative, I have never felt welcome there. Not even 10 yrs ago, WAY before Trump. They have an awesome library of patterns, that is true. But it isn't worth being told to Shut Up and Stay out of the forums. AND I didn't know that I was a White Supremacist, thank you for telling me that.

I joined Ravelry in their beginning years when they were all about the fiber arts and enjoyed my years of fellowship with others who were like-minded. They evolved into a hate mongering, trolling site that excluded anyone who did not agree with the politics of the left. That kind of behavior started several years ago-not just in recent months! I've removed my account and I'm glad I no longer belong to such a hate filled, narrow minded group!

I will start with the positives. A huge library of both pay for patterns and free patterns. I place to store your project notes. Forums to communicate with groups of people who have the same interests.
I will now move on to the negatives. Over the years, Ravelry has practiced its free speech by posting very polarizing content. I believe this encouraged strife, though most (not all) stayed silent. Ravelry then decided that it could dish it out but could not take it. Ravelry updated their policy. It basically said that if you are not on their side then you either keep your mouth shut or be banned. Though many had kept their mouth shut, for the sake of peace, have decided that this was going too far. I deleted my account.

This site and its makers and keepers have been and are creating a marvelous opportunity for fiber folk and designers to come together to talk about projects, learn something new, find new items to create and so much more. I cherish this place and the creators who fill it.

I've been a member of this group for 10+ years and have connected with wonderful people from all over the globe. They are helpful, supportive, and inspiring. I consider many very dear friends, even though we've never met.

I also appreciate the fact that the owners of the website are willing to put their values ahead of their profits by banning racism and bigotry on their site.

I joined and also create craft communities that are inclusive of all races, religions or political views. After reading the comments posted on the main page of Ravelry calling those that differ from their beliefs "white Supremists", no matter of their ethnicity and reading correspondence between Ravelry and fellow fiber artists, I do not know why anyone would want to associate themselves with people that have such venomous hatred of others. I do not understand why a craft site would get involved in such immature behavior.
