I always ask for Devanne (South Austin) because she's thorough, patient, kind, and gentle spirited. I feel like Choxie is in good hands with her because of her demeanor. Always tip her well because she really does go the extra mile. My pooch is 10 years old and I've been to many salons, if you will. Even when you share exactly what you want, you get what they wanna do! Not with Devanne.

Even before my rescue partnered with them, I didn't have much success with anything at this store. Employees were rude if they engaged with you at all. After my rescue partnered with them for cat adoptions, it was truly awful. Their so called manager Destiny has no clue how to be a manager. She's a pro at starting drama though. Their sometimes manager from out of town, Deb, will lie straight to your face then deny it later no matter who witnessed it. Their main manager, Matt is a rude arrogant jerk who doesn't know what respect means. Steer clear of this store. It's more drama than it's worth.

Tip for consumers:
If you drop donations in their bin, there's no one to collect them because no one will partner with them.

I switched to pet supply because of the consistency. Grooming was great and easy to schedule for my furbabies. I took my two dogs in to get groomed. Chose the VIP with add ons, always choose the best for them. Spent over $250 bucks just on Grooming! Pick them up they looked sooo cute, anyway, stroll through the store to grab a few more things for them. On the ride ride home there are belly rubs and scratches. Fleas running across their skin... not just one SEVERAL. Eggs behind their ears, on their head, like I just didn't spend all this money. It's likely they didn't get washed. Yea I know fleas will be but this was ridiculous. Needless to say after have a "luxuary" spa day at Pet Supply, I had to bathe them AGAIN when I got home. Not only that, i traveled 45 min just to go to Pet Supply. I am very disappointed and a waste of money. I did better washing them than what they received at Pet Supply. Check your pets before you leave if you go there.

Dont use the Self Dog bathing Station at Shelton Ct Pet Supplies Plus.or shop there for that matter.Their station looked great so I signed up for the 5 baths for 40 dollars...no conditioner water was barely warm and blow dryer blew industrial strength cold.When I asked how to increase the warmth I was told that's how its set up can't change it. Was also told I can't trim dogs nails either even though I removed the nails from drain catcher.Wanted refund and was given it but charged full price $14.00 for the using a bit of tepid water on a 9 lb dog...disgraceful..

New manager, Isabella, thinks crippled dogs need to be leashed as you walk around the store. I'm not sure if she expects us to drag the dog on the ground by it's neck or leave it in the hot car. Either way she is very heartless and doesn't care about pets or the client.

The new manager has no compassion towards handicapped.

I have shopped at Pet Supplies Plus for years now. The Selection is great! The store is clean! Everyone is willing to help. I Purchase a lot of My Fish Supplies there. The Gentleman who waited on me as very Polite.

My husband and I were in the Burlington Iowa store yesterday and we had bought a product, went thru checkout, as your employee was texting on her phone, finished her texting as she looked around and realized that he was standing at the register then we realized that we had forgot something else so hubby ran our purchase out to our suv and I stayed inside to get the rest of what we needed. Your employee Tara was up putting bags of food up on the shelve as she was texting, looked right around and said AGAIN…GEESH! She was not friendly at all plus a completely bad attitude. We felt very intimidated! If she doesnt like her job than maybe she needs to find a different one! Sorry! I was going to say to her people do forget things and sorry we interfered in your texting but I did not but let me say this I could have said a lot but I have more respect than that! I'm sorry if she was having a bad day but never should take that out on customers or leave the personal problems at home!

I like them you can order at the website you can call him when you get there in their bring your product outside I love it may severely inconvenience at this time of hardship and struggle that our company is willing to go out the way to bring you their packages so you don't have to leave your car I'd love them for that

Buying cat food and litter for my rescues racks up a lot of points. With those purchases, you can earn free bags of food and boxes of litter. You can also earn dollars off of your order-$5, $10, $20—until the boss decides to no longer honor any coupons from you saying you're being investigated for fraudulent activity by using coupons THEY sent to you. Hello BBB…

Tip for consumers:
The employees are kind and professional. Unfortunately, their boss won’t even return a phone call. She says she has but I do have an answering machine…

I booked an appointment with a certain girl, when I got there I was told it would be with savannah c. Horrible cut ever. My dog had razor snips on his rear end and chest/stomach. She shaved him to the skin and what hair was left was so uneven. This was a birthday groom which is a nightmare. Savannah C. Is horrible. I had to give a star to post, should be a negative 5 star

They have an employee named Kyle who seems to treat African American people different than white people. I was shopping at the Federal Way location. I was buying their Redford brand chicken dog food. I noticed how he engaged with the your customers, who were white, and disregarded the customers who were African American. It was evident in how he ignored their seemingly lost in the store demeanor while he gladly helped the white customers. My hope is this is not a normal practice.

This I believe is a racially biased organization.

I have been a customer at Per Supplies Plus for years. My cat recently died and I brought an unopened pack of Breeze litter pads to return. I have a rewards account and used a credit card but they would t take it back without a receipt. It is possible to return without a receipt - many businesses do it but not Pet Supplies Plus. They gave me a gift card even though I have no other pets besides my cat that just died. This practice just highlights how they want to get every last dollar possible from people - really a shameful practice. If I ever get another pet I will not be shopping at Pet Supplies Plus, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

They have always been super helpful. One time they were out of the brand I usually buy, but besides that they have a pretty big variety.

I got a gunnia pig from pet supplies Plus, I had it a week and it died of an upper breathing infection, the sad part is my kid picked it out and named it. He was so happy that this other gunnia pig was going to have a friend. He was crushed when i told him about it. I took it back they gave me my money back I dont think they were happy about that. If you love little furry animals don't give this pet store your business.

Last year i bought a guinea pig about 4 months old i named him cookie he had a head tilt a growth defect and an UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION WITCH IS DEADLY we ended up taking him to the emergency vet because he couldn't breath ended up paying $1000 AND STILL PAYING ON IT the next day he died i didn't blame it on them though so the day before thanksgiving i bought another guinea pig which i named patches at first when i got him he sneezed but i didnt think about it not long after i noticed he had an eye infection but again i dint think about it and just thought he got a hair in his eye or something and started treating it from home not long after that he started wheezing and coughing i told my dad and we took him to the vet and again he had UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION fortunately we caught it early and he was able to recover but the treatment was not cheap nearly $200 and $400 for x-rays i totally blame pet supplies once is a coincidence but twice with the same problem i unexceptable i am currently taking the veterinary track in my high school in hopes to be a exotic veterinarian to help people with things like this i will not be shopping a pet supplies again i would honestly rather get my food from walmart and the contract they make you sign says "pet supplies plus is not responsible for vet bills " if it wasn't for that i would have demanded money for the vet bills because of how expensive guinea pig vets are

Recently purchased a parakeet (8/24/23) and when we got the bird home we noticed he was keeping his leg up, we then noticed it had a leg band and some crust around its leg... we called the store immediately and was told if it's the band there is nothing they could do for us except exchange or return our money for the bird. We didn't want to get rid of it so we took it to a bird store and was told the band was embedded in the leg. At this point we were told its too difficult to remove it and would cause alot of bleeding. The professional said it was too far gone and best to let nature run its course and let the leg fall off which then he would be a healthy one legged bird who will be able to function normally. I don't like they would help with a vet or even return my $33 to put towards it's care. So disappointed.

I recently bought crickets for my chameleon and they are by far the best conditioned crickets I have ever bought for my chameleon and I will definitely be making this my go-to store I also encountered a nice employee actually several of them but one particular was Elizabeth and she was just wonderful I was at the 16th 9th Street store somewhere around 11th Street at Rutland Plaza everybody there was so extremely helpful I will go there again for sure

We wanted to take our dog for its first professional grooming and wanted a local non corporate experience. Wag an wash is owned by Pet Supplies Plus the largest chain of pet supply stores in the nation with less than stellar reviews. We called and made an appointment and asked what was included, we were told one of the things they do is clean the dogs ears. This was important to us.

When we arrived to the store we did not even get inside when the owner opens the door and says we are backed up about 20 minutes we can put you on a wait list. No greeting or asking what brings you in. We then said well we have an appointment and responds oh let me check, it took 5 to 6 minutes and someone came to get our dog. They put her in a cage which was the first time for her so we hung around approx. 10 minutes to se how she would respond. After 10 minutes with them working on other dogs we went next door to shop. Her appointment was at noon and at 12:39 we get a call your dog will be ready in 15 minutes. We got there in 5 the groomer saw us and brought our dog out. When we got home she was laying on her side and i could see her ears were not cleaned. I got a cotton tab wet and wiped her ears, see the attached picture. Called the groomer and she says we won't put qtips in her eras so we cant get whats deep down. I did not use a q-tip and only cleaned with my pointer finger took all of 2 minutes thats just one ear.

I called the owner Mike who was apologetic, seemed concerned and wanted to look into it. My wife got a message they called so I returned the call. Mathew said Mike is gone be he is aware of the situation and can help. I asked him what his role is and he said he is the general manager. He explained they reviewed the video and the groomer could have done a better job. He also stated we were there for 55 minutes. When we called and Mike both said a grooming should take an hour. I said we were there 55 minutes or the grooming was 55 minutes. He said he did not know because he did not look at the video. I said we dropped her at noon and she was in a cage waiting 15 minutes later and we picked her up at 12:45 so maybe 20 or 30 minutes and her ear is filthy. Mathew continued to talk over me to inform me other places charge extra for nail clipping and ear cleaning. I explained I did not take her to another place I took her to you and was told it was included. I said I paid $60 dollars my dog to get groomed, she is short haired so it did not even need to be trimmed. He then told me again where he worked before they charged extra. He kept going cutting me off. And I kept saying Mathew can I talk to which he responds well you don't want to hear what I have to say so we are done and hangs up.

I hope this review helps you make an informed decision on to what you might expect. I always say a business really defines itself on how they respond to an issue, I know that things happen which I understand. To sum it up very unprofessional. The employees were great, very friendly. I don't like writing reviews like this and would have preferred to settle this without going to this extent.

My dog came back in this condition. Waxahachie TX location. Vet said razor burn was the cause. Owner has not apologized or offered any type of compensation.

I've been a customer for years have a large dog they changed a policy for only two towels even if you want to buy it or pay for it and I have a large dog scared of dryers what am I to do I'm very upset and will no longer be a customer and plan to make many reviews so sorry it's like this

They are the worst and do not care. So here is my experience from their Black Friday offering. I placed an order for two bags of dog food which I made payment and received confirmation. When I received notice to pick up the order I had gone to the store to do so and noticed there was only one bag. I inquired where the other bag was and the employee indicated that is all they had in stock. He said the other bag would come off of my credit card that was charged. I mention that I prefer to pick up the other bag when it comes in at the Black Friday price. He said sure and made a note to leave with the manager. The following day I received an email indicating that the bag I picked up was charged at full retail price. I called the store and the manager, April, said there's nothing she can do for coupons or digital orders. I then called corporate who said she will SEE if she could have the store provide the Black Friday price on the bag I picked up, however there's nothing they can do about the second bag. So I have been charged the original Black Friday price for two bags plus the the bag I picked up for some reason is now charged at the full retail price. It is a shady operation and have no care for the customer and not right a wrong. Will never do business with them again

I took both of my dogs for grooming at Pet Supplies Plus - Orchard Park on 11/23/22. I told the groomer that I did not want them shaved down, as winter has arrived and I don't want them to be cold. I also specifically said I did not want their faces to have a poodle cut. I brought a picture of what I wanted and left the photo with the groomer. When I arrived to pick them up, both dogs were shaved down and 1 of them had a poodle cut on her face.
To make all of this worse, within a couple of days, if you touched the ears of one of the dogs, she would yelp. She could not even shake her head back and forth. If she tried, she would yelp. I looked in the other dog's ears and saw that her ears were bloody. I could still not get near Betsy's ears to see what was causing her discomfort.
Fortunately, Betsy was scheduled for her spay on Monday 11/28/22. I asked the vet to look in her ears during her surgery. Poor Betsy had a major infection in both ears due to her grooming. The vet said it was from the plucking and that they left too much moisture in her ears after grooming.
Betsy was prescribed drops for her ears. We had to clean her ears out daily and put the drops in. Betsy's condition did improve with the medication. Although, I don't know how this awful experience will affect future groomings for this poor pup!
On 12/5/22, I went into Pet Supplies Plus to speak to the Store Manager. I had pictures of my dogs before their cuts, the photo of how I wanted them cut, photos of how they looked post cut, a photo of the bloody ear and several photos of Betsy's extremely infected ears. I also had the vet report and bill for the $25 ear prescription. I requested reimbursement for the $25 and for the $176 grooming fee. I did not think this to be unreasonable. If Betsy did not have her spay appointment already, I would have asked for reimbursement for the vet visit, which I'm sure would have been at least the $176. I was very nice in my dealings with the store manager. I even said I was willing to take the reimbursement as a store credit, as I still planned to shop there, but my dogs would never be groomed there again. She said she would need a couple of days to look into and would get back to me.
When I did not hear back from Pet Supplies Plus, I called to check the status on 12/12/22. She stated that it had been busy, but that she did submit for reimbursement for the $25 prescription. I asked about the $176 grooming fee. She said she would have to look into it and get back to me. Again, no return call, so I called back on 12/20/22. Still no answer on whether they would reimburse the grooming fee. I asked for the District Managers phone #. She said she would have them call me. Never received a call. I called back on 12/28/22. The Store Manager I was working with was off that day, so I spoke to another manager. I also asked her for the District Managers number, she said she would have them contact me. And she would have the Store Manager call me back as well.
On 12/30/22, I had still not heard back from anyone. I thought I would try the Corporate Headquarters. I was only able to leave a message there. Haven't heard back from them yet. I called the Store Manager again, she still had no check for the $25, no answer on the grooming reimbursement and said she would have the District Manager call me.
I find this lack of customer service very disheartening. Unfortunately, they are about to lose a customer for life, not to mention all of the negative word of mouth they will receive. I've worked in the customer service industry many years. From my experience, it would be worth paying out the $200 to keep a customer and not have negative reviews posted.
I do NOT recommend Pet Supplies Plus
