Nextdoor plays games with customers when they make a complaint. In addition, they claim they will respond to complaints but never do.

Top Critical Review

“They have a very liberal behind scene.”

Most contacts that comes across if consecutive, will be taken down. Their moderation does little good. I have seen six to one to keep a comment or post up and nextdoor still take it down. One good way of getting kick off, just support Trump. In fact the name national politics from the main feed just because of it. It is ok to mention BLM but don't mention any white groups. If you do, plan on getting banned fo thirty days.

This is the most vile of all social media groups. Nextdoor allows neighbors to threaten bully and harass each other. Leads have this percieved power that goes to their heads. It becomes a clique that gangs up on the outsider. If you complain, you get put in nextdoor jail to teach you a lesson. If you value your privacy and do not want threats throw at you, stay far away from nextdoor.

If there was a zero star review….
Do not trust the Nextdoor app as they do not monitor for scammers, animal trafficking from illegal backyard breeders and act on false reports that lock out legitimate users. Their staffing is terrible and customer service incompetent. My account was locked from someone making a false report. Be careful what you post as there are people using this app to get into your personal information. Ring is a far superior place for finding out important neighborhood posts regarding criminal activity and lost pets. Nextdoor is a ridiculous excuse of an attempt at social media.

Tip for consumers:
Site is not a secure or safe place for users to share information and moderators are incompetent

Nextdoor fails to take into account that not all neighbors are friendly and safe. I question what the true endgame of Nextdoor is, as they refuse to allow you to only use first names. Recently, I was stalked and harassed by neighbors who think it is okay to racially profile and put up questionable, second hand stories about an incident involving another person from another site and the "supposed" men of a certain ethnicity that did not do anything to her, she just "felt" suspicious. It wasn't until I filed a formal complaint to Nextdoor that they took the post down. The point being that they do not monitor the content that is put up and leave the site open for people to post whatever they want. The creators of this app seem oblivious to the fact that we don't live in some utopian society where every single neighbor is as wholesome as The Andy Griffith Show and that we don't want to reveal our full identities to a possible crazed neighbor. There was a mob mentality forming on the particular post and the damage has already been done. They just open themselves up to lawsuits.

I'm always seeing hateful old ignorant people going on tirades against everyone, responding to every comment with an insult and yet; nothing happens. They allow MLMs to misrepresent their products and businesses, and scammers are rampant.

It's just a bunch of Karens whining about dog poop, asking for a Doctor recommendation, or posting pics of some random car convinced they're out to kill everyone.

It takes a special kind of person to tolerate this trash heap of unhinged.

I have been a member of Nextdoor for years and noticed numerous women, senior citizens, and many others become victimized by an individual known as Daniel Turnball in Henderson,NV. Nextdoor continues to allow this convicted thief to operate on Nextdoor. The Leads and moderators are useless. Can't wait until this site is shut down. To many people are being victimized.

Tip for consumers:
Stop allowing unlicensed companies and individuals to rip people off. These thief’s are identified and next-door does nothing.

Nextdoor has good things but also things that need to be worked on.
You can find neighborhood services or handymen, discover what's going on in the neighborhood, find the latest news or gossip, or even a restaurant that might interest you.
However you can also be blocked, removed from the website, or if the neighborhood lead has their personal agenda, they can block you or remove your posting.
A number of neighbors have complained because they have seen leads remove stories that the lead doesn't agree with.
For example, some neighbor recently complained about that online. Nextdoor can and has removed posts criticizing its policies.
For example, I had posted some time back that there were some irregularities with neighborhood security. My post was removed without any kind of explanation, even though a number of neighbors appreciated hearing what I had to say. Nextdoor would say something like, "well you were just ranting. That goes against our community guidelines." So what that means, in my opinion, is that Nextdoor can practice extreme forms of censorship, meanwhile hiding behind the excuse of "upholding Community guidelines."
Also, at times Nextdoor seems extremely politically-correct, almost to the point of disgust.
Nextdoor has these neighborhood guidelines. Whoever wrote the guidelines seems like they might be a fundamentalist Democrat. Most of the supposed offences would seem like they would be not allowed against groups or individuals that would be aligned with the left wing of the Democratic Party. I don't completely disagree with that, but it just seemed so politically correct all most way beyond what may be considered normal. I commend them for standing up against racism, as well as some other things such as neighborhood bullying. But in fact Nextdoor sometimes seems to become the neighborhood bully when they block perfectly fine posts that they happen to disagree with. Or they block neighbors from communicating, by posting a message similar to, "trouble connecting with Nextdoor, try again later." That is just their way of blocking neighbors they disagree with. A neighbor might think they have trouble with the internet, but it might actually be that they're being blocked by Nextdoor.
On a positive note, Nextdoor does have some strengths. They seem genuinely interested in protecting minorities from racism. They want to hinder libel and slander, that is commendable. In addition, neighbors are able to find out about household repair services, neighborhood fun events and happenings, as well as the latest crimes or important neighborhood information.

My experience is that it's just a group of complainers who like to $#*! and talk about local/state issues but have no incentive to do anything but complain. They don't take action in writing to their local representatives or even voting for government officials. They just like to complain and bully people who don't agree with them.

Nextdoor app lets white people post about anything but if I posted something they always had a problem for example I am a caregiver once I posted about me providing care for the elderly and they deleted my ad but someone else a white lady was posting about her job and how she can provide services for a small fee and her ad was not deleted I also heard this from other minorities groups just stating the truth.

Our local Nextdoor app has been overrun by right wing propaganda and conspiracy theory hounds, and they slam the site with ugly animal exploiting photos and flat earth arguments about everything going on with energy and the climate. If you question their logic, ask for evidence of their position, or request that they stick to the facts, you are vilified and summarily drummed off the site. Worst place in the world to go for anything.

There is a reason why Nextdoor stock has dropped 90%. Some have blamed it on the pandemic, but the main reason is the biased removal of postings based on "community standards" which are very vague and is reviewed by unknown persons. It is simply a guise to take down your opinion if it doesn't agree with their prevailing political climate of the staff. It is a sinking ship and no clear minded investor or advertiser would spend monies on a repressive organization knowing that rewards will be minimal if any

I have been consistently harassed and bullied since March 2023 by lead/moderator Melody E.after I asked why another member was disabled as it appeared to be biased She attacked me and then accused me of attacking her. I have been consistently reported and disabled now permanently. All the complaints go to her and when it moves to support she's volunteer she even bullies and threatens other leads and still gets away with it. How can we stop leads/moderators of Nextdoor from abusing others? I have in writing from another lead that she has been unfairly targeting me and others, but she continually gets away with it. We need to put it stop to it and receive compensation for the harm it caused. I have a lot of support documentation as proof of harassment/bullying of the lead, not following the guidelines, yet punishing me for reasons not against the guidelines. This is happening to a lot of members, class action suit?

It is a rarity to find a website for neighborhoods that is actually safe secure and not phony!
I was a little skeptical when I first got on this site about three years ago when I was in another location and when I move to my current residence, I immediately got back on this site! Why? Trust! I can get accurate information, "converse" with neighbors throughout the area. I have not experienced any breach of privacy,

The moderators and leads that control the posts are biased and do not adhere to the guidelines established by the site. They engage in public shaming, racism, discrimination, and bigotry while making up their sown rules to hold others to. The support personnel at Nextdoor do not care enough about their users to actually police the disgusting actions of their moderators.

Commented on a post for someone asking for gofundme donations to help Bury a family member. Seeking $5000 to cover burial costs. I suggested looking into creamation since it's costs are much much less than traditional burial cost. My post was deleted with no explanation. Is Putin in charge of the administrators cause it sure seems they are power oriented.

The Nextdoor app. Does not protect your privacy. They put me in harms way when we were a victim of a crime. We had a neighbor witness trespassing. There was theft of mail. When I shared with neighbors next door shut it down. Boycott this app. They are untrustworthy

They banned our nextdoor account just because we encourage our neighbors through Bible scriptures. Many neighbors loved our post, and they obviously saw that. Someone in leadership dropped the ball on deleting our account, and whoever made this decision shouldn't be ashamed of someone who is clearly on our USA DOLLAR BILL "IN GOD WE TRUST" the person who deleted us, is the one who has harassed, and moved in discriminating ways towards us and our household. We are disgusted and hurt indeed! (Military family)

If you are looking to get to know your neighbors, don't bother, because this site won't help you get to know a single one. I am Asian, and my one post about safety and being sexually harassed by a white male in my neighborhood was taken down amidst severe backlash. I wonder if a white woman's post would have received the same treatment. I don't want to meet these racist neighbors.

So l am a handicap vet of 2 branches of the military, The Army and Airforce and a cop of 26 years. So this Karen came on to my post and attacked me so I logically defended myself. I didn't use profanity or insult, I followed the guidelines of their policy and I won the argument. So she didn't like that and she reported me! If she didn't like it she could have gone to an another post and not read mine! I'm going to the Supreme Court, the BBB and the World Trade Commission for this one! What happened to freedom of speech and expression! I'm going to report this!
