I bought a dinner set a couple of years ago and found a hairline crack on 2 of the dishes. Customer service responded very quickly and agreed to ship replacement dishes after some basic questions. I thought I would have issues because I wasn't able to find my original receipt. They were amazingly reasonable and apologetic.

They delivered a package to our business address, and their preferred carrier delivered it on a weekend on the literal sidewalk where it was stolen. When I called Mikasa for support, they said it wasn't their problem and told me to file a police report. This is the first time in years where a company didn't offer to help, specifically by contacting their delivery service, and doing what it took to correct it. Instead, they said "Sorry, maybe you can call your credit card company and file a police report". I was going to order more, but never again. I should have just ordered the same item on Amazon, where their costumer service actually helps.

Don't use this site if there's a chance you'll need customer service.

My wife and I have been married for nearly 30 years. We purchased Mikasa for our everyday dishes at that time and were very satisfied. When we decided to get new dishes and glasses in late summer 2020, we chose to return to them.

What a mistake!

The dishes and glasses started to break almost immediately. The chipped but the glasses broke in our dishwasher. To add insult to injury, when we decided to place the remaining glasses into our recycling bin (done very gently), a glass broke in my hand. It was a disaster.

When we informed Mikasa, they offered a paltry amount to us to buy new dishes. As they have refused to back up their product, we will NEVER purchase their products again.

Caveat emptor.

The large dinner plates are not micro wave safe, even though it is stamped on the bottom of the plate, they crack in the micro wave. About 5 plates have cracked, make that 6 with the following report. Also recently my wife had corn on the cob in boiling water took one cob and placed on a plate. Plate cracked almost in half. So very disappointed, never ever experienced defective dishes like this before. Probably the first & last Mikasa purchase.

I sent a set of the Napoleon Bee dinnerware to a friend who is about to move as a housewarming gift. She was surprised and thrilled when they arrived. I suggested she not wait until the moved to open them in case there were any broken or chipped pieces. Well, none were broken, but they were defective. What was supposed to be a bee has been described as a bloated tick, smashed fly, triangular blob, pantry moth, a nose or an upside down uterus. None of those need to be on a plate you serve dinner on, and they aren't what was pictured. Mikasa appears to know they are selling seconds (though most seconds are better than these) -- the have removed the better quality photos from their site and others selling the dishes.
Making matters worse, my friends wrote to request replacement or return. Customer Service required a photo of each piece in the 40 pc set. After my friend sent them, they had the gall to say the photos showed bees on all the pieces. She could return them for store credit, paying the shipping and not getting the original shipping refunded unless the order was an error or defective (and they already said they didn't think the dishes were defective). I wrote and was told the same, but there was a phone number at the bottom of the reply email. I called and talked to someone who didn't sound very experienced and apparently working from home and trying to figure out what to do. I got the same kind of replay -- and she said 2 agents had already looked at it and told us the same thing. I pushed back and eventually asked to speak to the supervisor she mentioned. I waited why she said she emailed the supervisor. She then told me they would send a prepaid shipping label and refund my purchase "as a one time courtesy." We did get the label and I will make sure I get the full refund or dispute the charge. There may be other patterns or products worth trying, but if you are looking at the Napoleon Bee, save yourself the trouble.

Tip for consumers:
Use a credit card and take screenshots of what you order so you can dispute the charge if they send you something less than what you expected. And don't give up.

I ordered a set of dishes as a housewarming gift. None of them will be used. They are being returned after great effort to get a shipping label and refund. They say 100% satisfaction guaranteed, but then they deny the defect, say they won't credit shipping and will only issue a store credit -- all supposedly using a return label that wasn't in the box. No phone number to contact them and email was just a form letter. I've trusted the Mikasa name to mean quality, but sure looks like things have changed. Sad.

I ordered a full set of dishes two and a half weeks before they were set to ship. Called customer service when almost 2 weeks went by and I still didn't receive a shipping confirmation and the agent assured me they would be delivered by Friday. Friday came. Nothing. Checked the updated shipping and it said Tuesday. Being frustrated that I was promised they would arrive on time they took it upon themselves to return the order without notifying me. I received a notification that my dishes were delivered (que the excitement!) To realize they weren't actually delivered but sent BACK to the manufacturer. Um WHAT?! Not only did I wait for these to not be delivered by the time they promised even after offering to pay extra before they shipped, to then having them sent BACK?! This company is terrible and I probably saved myself in terrible quality too.

Don't use this company

We had purchased two 4-place serving Mikasa flatware settings from a local store and were cycling through the new utensils when I sliced my lip from a part that had pulled away from the rest of the fork. We set that fork aside as we used the rest of the flatware and once satisfied this was a one-off, we emailed Mikasa Customer Service (found through a simple Google search) and let them know of our experience. They asked for a photo of the offending utensil and immediately responded that they would have a replacement on its way to us in the span of a few days. Well, today that replacement SET (not lonely fork as we expected) was received and we couldn't be happier. THAT is how customer service is done - thanks Mikasa!

Some of the gifts we received for our wedding (glasses, wine glasses, bowls, fruit bowl) are Mikasa products and we love them! We now need smaller glasses too so I'm looking to buy them from that company.

I placed an order from mikasa for a 16 piece dinnerware set. One of the plates arrived broken, so I emailed Mikasa asking for them to send a new one. They said that they no longer sell individual items from this set, so they redirected me to a replacements website. They said they would refund me the cost of the new plate to replace the broken one. However, they refused to cover the shipping costs. I found this quite frustrating because it was not my fault I received damaged goods, and they were not trying to make things right. If they still had the individual plate in inventory, they would send it free of charge, so why couldn't they apply this to me ordering from a replacements website. I am disappointed in the lack of customer care and service and will not be giving them my business again.

They send me wrong product, but not going to refund shipping costs. And the quality of Mikasa products much worse then 3 years ago.

This is quite ridiculous as I called the second I placed the order and asked to have the shipping address updated as I shipped to myself accidentally instead of the wedding gift recipients. I was told that that could not happen, however I would be able to cancel it. Due to my immediate call to notify of my error, my order had not been put into the system yet, I was told it would be in 45 minutes and that I'd receive a call back and email notifying me when it was and assistance cancelling. I never heard back this was last Friday. I followed back up over the weekend and received a return email on the following Tuesday informing me that an attempt to cancel it was being done and/or they would provide a return label.

On Wednesday I've received this message telling me no return label and the order is still shipping to me when this was supposed to be a wedding gift for someone in another state. I have no desire to have this product and I will 100% never ever even attempt to order on their website or any of your products because God forbid I make an error and notify them immediately as they will be of absolutely no assistance and will not follow through with anything that was told to me and emailed to me.

To make matters worse, only after this email did I receive notification that this product had been shipped. One would think that there would be someway in between Friday of my order and notification of mistake and their responses several times of how they could assist and by Wednesday of their shipping notification that something could have been done to assist me with my request.

I am posting this as a review to hopefully help others prevent this situation on what was supposed to be an enjoyable time was not due to these issues.

Thank you Mikasa for you updates on how unhelpful you were able to be.

Purchased two sets of Mikasa Dishes. The dishes were rough on the bottom which scratched counter top, furniture and stainless steel sink. Contacted Mikasa with Video, Photos of black spots in porcelain. They told me to go buy a file and file them down. They will not stand behind their product or quality. I could have better dishes at the dollar store!

Mikasa issued me a credit even when the purchase was made at beyond the rack! 5 Stars for Mikasa

Shipping was a little slow but I waited patiently. When I finally received the package, it did not contain the BOWL I ordered. It contained SNOWMAN FIGURINES. Thanks for the practical joke but if that is all I get, my purchase should be free. I am asking them for a discount for the inconvenience this has caused, I will update this review after they reply.

I bought 3 sets of the Trellis White Square 16 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 and they were packed perfectly. I absolutely love them. They were delivered in perfect condition. I will always order from mikasa.com. My only issue is they don't ship my order out immediately. They take their time shipping it out.

Tip for consumers:
Excellent quality. Packed perfectly. I absolutely love them. Beeeeeeautiful. Shipping was with Fedex, THE BEST SHIPPING COMPANY TO SHIP WITH. I LOVE MIKASA.
