Considering I wrote a constructive, informative message to the two owners in LinkedIn, and received NO reply from either of them, I have to assume they're not interested in making the site a success for us, but only to gather as much information about us as they can.

'Nextdoor' is government based sadly, as is FaceBook. However, ND could be a fantastic creation bringing neighbours together, but with total online protection and no requests for 'public' personal information. It just needs logical and careful thought for the benefit and safety of all. We could even pay membership for such a service, couldn't we?

I know, we all wish it could be different, but the best we can do is NOT TO GIVE OUT any more personal info that we have to. There is direct messaging and ONLY THEN should details be given to another, if needed. There are creative ways to avoid exposing ourselves!

I like the Classifieds, as people offering items are going to be relatively closer than people of Craigslist are likely to be. They most likely are also not going to be serial killers, but, we must also be prepared for that possibility! It's a shame we are unable to advertise our small services, as in tutoring, or household help, as that is mixed in with items for sale, and once noticed by the 'censoring site baddy,' is either deleted or it disappears down with everything else. There ought to be a category, which I have suggested and that others all agreed to, but was a good idea ignored as usual!

I was told to open a business page. It was all kinds of difficult to do, and eventually I learned that unless I had at least ONE review, my business page would not be seen! How STUPID is that? Until a neighbour is taught by me, and bothers to leave a review, I can't advertise? How do I get a neighbour's attention then? How do I advertise?

However, I do like the way neighbours can suddenly inform us when pets are missing, (or are just seen walking down their road!) or posting info if there are strange people going door to door. An annoyance I particularly detest! On our ND site, this happened recently and members posted photos of the person concerned along with their licence plate which is a great way to keep people safe. Oh, and there was a spate of vehicle robberies, and that timely info was posted too. That is communication at its best!

I LOVE it when communities are friendly, and perhaps with the ways of the world right now, this could prove very important when push comes to shove, as it surely might.
Because as neighbours we need to know who we can trust or to be careful of, we ought to be allowed to post reviews of total honesty, even if they are negative! After all, when something goes wrong or is bad, as long as we are polite about it, we should voice our opinion. And the negative review can be defended, again, politely.

It is called FREE SPEECH, which I know out of experience is something not allowed on the NextDoor site.

I have been reported, or it was just a written excuse for them taking my posts out, for informing people of info MANY were interested in and had thanked me for, in just the first few minutes of my posting the comment! Then an hour or so later, my post was taken down, and the members replies and their interest were ignored!

Who was to blame for this anti-amendment behaviour? (Whoever it was, STOP IT!) If anonymity was not allowed in this case, we would have justice and honesty. To keep taking down interesting comments, positive or negative (as long as respectfully done of course) is WRONG!

I asked the lead, who lazily replied with words that didn't make sense and was so badly written, no decent grammar either and did not answer my question except to say my comment was reported. As if I didn't know and beside that, there was no explanation. I realised right then, that the lead is illiterate or doesn't understand English. OR, doesn't give a damn? This happened about five separate times, and it rather put me off helping to make the site a success! (Perhaps that is their intention?)

So why was she, Sarah, in this position? Whoever chose her (and the others who are as bad) must have done so deliberately. They do not want us to enjoy a successful, (for us at least) site that gives us pleasure and helps us make friends. Again we can see the government do NOTHING to make us happy, but who will give a little and take a lot back! We have to constantly go against them, we have to support each other or we will lose whatever ground we have!

Prez Trump is doing his best, and things of importance to us might improve, but the old regime is still there hanging on! Until the better changes, we have to protect and defend ourselves best we can. AND we should watch each other's backs too!

At least we have this site; Sitejabber, to communicate with on all of that! We have to stop the poison spreading and we can all help a little there by not being so accepting, as it's what got us in this mess to begin with. Just don't be complacent. Don't let them take away our pride or make us feel belittled. We are all important and what we think and say is worthy.

TO THE OWNERS OF NEXTDOOR:
If you are one of the owners of NextDoor, and you read this comment, I can help you do MUCH BETTER with these sites and am available for consultancy any time! Do not let a good idea go to waste and properly cater for us on your sites.

If the owners continue to read our comments without improving the sites, we must accept they have no wish to improve or make NextDoor the fantastic site it could be if the right type of people were running it!

Let's continue to update and inform each other!

Tip for consumers:
Please remember not to give out personal telephone numbers or addresses. Use the Private Reply to do this, otherwise everyone will see it!

I thought it a great idea, but not many members are interactive there. I tried to be, and many posts were unfairly taken down, suggesting I was on a 'soapbox.' I happen to speak my mind, politely, I will add. I've witnessed posts coming down with no good reason.

This biasness could be down to the 'lead' rather than a member reporting a post, especially, when others are thanking us for the same post! Do 'leads' like to exert some type of anonymous power over the rest of us, or do they not want the site to be successful?
