Please don't make us wait this long for mastery challenges. i realize why you do it, to make sure we actually know the material rather than just than temporarily memorizing it, but could please at least try to find an alternative? overall though, this is a great site. and if the khan academy staff is listening, 5 stars!:) thank you, vasishta sree tumuluri

Answer:

There is an old adage in education, that 'Spaced' learning is more effective than 'Clumped' learning. Waiting for the next Mastery challenge teaches patience, allows you to practice more skills in the dashboard, so the mastery challenges have more to do assessment on, and as you note, ensure that the concepts are transferring from short-term, to long term memory in your brain.
