“Hire Writers has greatly changed my life”

Caroline F.
6/27/22

I have worked for Hire Writers for over five years, and I am grateful I worked for them. I would recommend the site to other content creators looking to improve their skills and earn money. Hire Writers is the ideal option for clients looking for content, sell or promote products, offer services, or rank high on search engines. Give Hire Writers a chance, and you will not get disappointed.

Avoid Hirewriters. I ordered 20 articles from there and my website would not get adsense approval. I eventually checked all the articles with an AI checker. 18 were indeed AI content. No refund.

I was writing for the second week on Hirewriters.com and we all know that I suppose to get paid every Friday. First week I made $20ish and the money has been transferred right to my paypal. But the second week I made $42ish and didn't get paid at all. And I can't log-in to my account online. Everytime I am trying to log-in, it just shows that the servers errors. I sent 2 emails to the support team and get no response. Do not write for them. Scam. Cheat on the money even just $42ish.

I have been writing for the company for the past three years. Everything has been okay - though I was not working a lot since I had other gigs to work on. During this quarantine period, I decided to work full-time. Since I'm an expert writer and my quality is good, I attracted several customers who were paying highly. By Friday, I had managed to get $355 approved, and some eight more articles were pending. When I tried to log into the account, I saw the "account frozen" alert. When I contacted their support team, I was given four reasons why my account was disabled. I confirmed to them that I'm a top writer, and there is no way I could have violated the reasons they gave.
The following day (on Saturday), they reopened my account, but then I noticed the amount I expected as payment was missing from the account (you can see the attached screenshot). Since then (all week long) I have tried to contact them, but they have blatantly ignored all the messages I have sent them demanding that they pay me. So today I again wrote them a message demanding that they pay me. A few minutes ago, they again suspended my account.

Having read other people's experiences, and through my experience, I can conclude the following:

1. Brandon (the owner of hirewriters) and Ruby Dale (the support expert) are teaming up to steal from innocent writers. Can you believe there is someone is the world who will fail to pay a writer for more than 30 approved articles? But hirewriters will fail to pay your money and ignore your messages.
2. Hirewriters target to steal from top earning writers - If you do not write a lot of articles or you do not earn much on their platform, you are safe. They disabled my account when I worked a lot and earned much, I never experienced such when I was not making much. Who in this world can steal and close a writing account of a writer who has more than five clients who send special requests?
3. Each week hirewriters closes accounts randomly to steal from their writers. Several writers have complained about this. It could have been a different case if they were closing the accounts and paying for what the client has paid the writer.
4. Clients on the hirewriters platform are not safe - If a writer does not meet the requirements of the client, and the client decides to withdraw cash from the platform, hirewriters will not make the refund. They will ignore all the messages, and you will be forced to dispute through PayPal to get your money refunded.

No matter how good hirewriters seem to you, whether as a writer or a client, they will finally steal from you. They know writers are desperate, and if they steal from one, they will have another joining the platform the next minute. You can find great clients on other platforms or risk working for this group of cheats called hirewriters who will stop at nothing than to steal your cash.

I have been a writer on Hirewriters now for close to 5 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about this platform. Over the years, I have built my reputation and attracted clients who send me regular work each week.
Many people here are complaining that Hirewriters does not value writers. I don't agree with them. In fact, out of all the writing platforms I have used, I can say without blinking that Hirewriters has the most understanding team. For instance, my account was automatically frozen because of a failure to pass copy-scape. I contacted the support team and explained my case and they restored my account. More so, everything was intact, including the account balance. The Hirewriters team always responds and offers satisfactory solutions when I contact them. They also pay on time.
I think writers should be sincere and stop blaming Hirewriters for their fault. If your account was banned, it was because you violated their terms of service. It is not fair to mislead other talented writers and clients who want to use this platform because of your mistakes. I felt so bad when I read so many negative reviews that people have written about this platform. As a writer who has benefited and still benefiting from this platform, I highly recommend it to writers and clients.

I submitted an article to be written and it was never done. I reached out to support 3 TIMES. There refund policy states "Refunds are only available on unspent balances, no older than 60 days. The refund can only be honored if it is not partially spent after your deposit."

IT HAS BEEN LESS THEN 60 days and no one is responding. I have $32 dollars that is just sitting on their website not going to use. I would like my money back!

A total scummy company - does what they want. Client - rather a student - did her research paper from me - took it then declined the job and refused it saying "I don't need it anymore". Support says - well, clients can refuse for any reason.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. I've worked part-time on HireWriters since late 2015 and have nothing but good things to say about them. Plenty of work, rates are alright, but most importantly payouts are reliable and consistent. Some clients are bad, but you get that anywhere and in any business. Nowadays most of my work is done through private clients but we continue to use the site as a good platform to ensure quality of work delivered, lack of plagiarism, and on my end, prompt payment of an agreed-upon sum (plus maybe a tip).

I'm not directly affiliated with the site in any way, and this review is only my own, voluntary, unpaid opinion, and I gain nothing by posting this. Is the site getting review bombed? Three negative reviews that are absolutely not my experience, hmm...

They closed my account because I asked why they were taking too long to review my w9 and I needed the cash. They refused to pay me my $400 balance.

Also the payout is very low. Brandon, the admin is $#*!ty. Your account will be frozen for no reason and they take your cash away.

I had been working with Hirewriters as a freelance writer for around 8 years and it had generally been a positive experience - until recently. Over those 8 years, I completed hundreds of assignments for them across all kinds of writing projects like articles, blog posts, website content, email newsletters and more. Their payment system had always been reliable, with payments coming through every two weeks like clockwork.

However, my latest experience has soured the relationship. On my most recent pay period, I had completed a large batch of work totaling $370+ - the highest single payment I had ever earned from them. When the pay date came around, the payment never arrived in my account. I reached out to their support team multiple times over email asking about the delayed payment, and requested that if there was an issue, I at least be paid a portion like half the amount owed. Unfortunately, Hirewriters has not responded to any of my emails.

It has now been over a month since that missed payment. $360 is a significant amount of money for me, and it's unacceptable that a company I had been loyally working with for 8 years has suddenly ghosted me after all this time. I worry that this is not just an issue with a missed payment, but that Hirewriters may be intentionally withholding money from freelancers. A company pulling a stunt like this, not paying workers for their completed labor, is unethical at best and an outright scam at worst.

While I had a largely positive experience with Hirewriters for years, this recent incident has completely soured me on them. I can no longer recommend working with or hiring Hirewriters based on this situation. Writers and clients should be very cautious about doing business with a company that seems willing to simply not pay workers one day without explanation. It may start small, but issues like this can spiral into much larger problems and financial losses over time. Protect yourself and your money by avoiding Hirewriters.

Once you reach the $500 Lifetime Earning Threshold, Hirewriters will request that you send them a W-9 form via email. This email will notify staff to cease sending you Paypal payments. It seems you cannot earn more than $500 total at Hirewriters.com because the owners either want to avoid taxes or avoid IRS paperwork. Be warned, if you earn over $500 in lifetime site earnings... you will not be paid the excess and Hirewriters will ignore you.

There are a ton of gig-based sites like HireWriters out there, but this is where I got my start, and is still my emotive favorite.
I've been freelancing for a little over three years now, and using HireWriters, I was able to go from part time to full time income in about 6 months.

It's true - when you're first starting out, and nobody knows who you are and what you can do, you don't make a lot of money with each assignment.
On the other hand, if you stick with it, and demonstrate your value to your initial clients, the rates tend to rise all by themselves, because your clients are going to be willing to pay extra to get great quality work, rather than taking a chance on another unknown writer who can do it for a little less.

I've never had a problem with payment - happens like clockwork, every Friday, and while you occasionally get a client who will reject your work and use it anyway, that's true of ANY website like this... sometimes, you just get a bad client. It happens.

The trick is to stick with it.
When you're starting out, it's strictly a volume business.

Once you make a name for yourself, it becomes less about that, and more about writing on topics you love, but that's the great thing about HW... with the number of clients and the array of topics to choose from, there's always a dizzying range of topics to choose from (and as a side bonus, once you start writing across a broad spectrum, you're a BEAST when it comes to trivia games!)

Great site, helpful and friendly staff... prompt payment. If you're looking to break into writing as a profession, I recommend it.

I worked as a writer for this site for close to one and half years before I had my account frozen. At the Expert level, I had about 12 or so repeat clients who made direct request to my account. I had done close to 1400 orders with a rating of 4.8/5. I mostly produced X-rated, Social media posts, E-books, IT, Marketing and business content. Upon this freeze, I lost all the clients I served for several months, plus the earning that had accumulated from the previous week's pending orders, and that week's approved orders.
After sending my identification documents and a selfie, all I got from the site management - By Brandon - is a rude response. I still don't understand why they chose to freeze my account after collecting close to 500 dollars. I just moved on, and quit writing as a result.
Even with the peanuts payment the site offers its writers, I still chose to write for the company because of the many loyal clients I had. If you still wish to try hirewriters.com, beware they will one day scam you. Felix David (Hirewriter username Feli xd)

The King of the Danes had saved Beowulf's dad's life many years ago. So Beowulf believes that is important to repay this debt. So when Beowulf hears of the problem the Danes are facing with Gerndel, he steps up the plate. The Hero Beowulf is willing to fight Grendel to this community. This will also repay the kindness that the Danes showed Beowulf's father.

I'd been writing for Hirewriters.com for 7 months without violating any ToS until they suddenly decided to freeze my account without giving any reason. After contacting support, Ruby (She's more helpful as opposed to Brandon) replied to let me know that they were looking into the matter and would let me know once it was resolved.

Later, the ticket was assigned to Brandon who market it as "Solved" without saying a word. I created more than 9 tickets after that with each being marked as "Solved" yet my account was still frozen. Brandon later decided to suspend my Zendesk account so that I could not create any more requests.

The question here is, if the decision to terminate my account was justifiable, why did he not give a reason, and why would he hold the payment if not for his selfish interests?

To justify that Brandon is indeed the crook that he is, why would a CEO who's supposed to have a professional Facebook profile strive so much to hide his identity as is evident in his Facebook profile? https://web.facebook.com/golden.triangle/
P.S., he blocked me as soon as I sent him a message request which goes to prove further how much of an idiot he really is :( But hey, fret not since only fools go to a great extent to destroy what they've worked so hard to achieve.

Id give less than 1 start if I could... hired a expert writer for the job and what I got back was littered with grammar errors and something could of been written by a 12 year old. Didn't follow any of the instructions and honestly sounded like it was written by an Indian guy abroad just from the sheer unfamiliarity to certain phrases within the article and how he was using them. Since then I have tried to get a refund from hirewriters as I'm not spending a dime on this company and conveniently they wont reply to the emails.

I was skeptical. Working for a "content mill" gets some nasty reviews at times. However, I want to post my own experience here.

I worried they might want a big percentage and pay little. I signed up here and on Upwork as a trial basis.

I had no trouble getting approved promptly or finding beginner work when I started at HW. Three months in I have gotten nothing but spin-requests and the run around on Upwork. Not one legit job there, but HW has consistently allowed me to move forward.

They didn't wait to upgrade me when I finished the requirements to move up a level and I still take jobs marked for lower levels if they interest me between regular jobs. If you're a writer, it shouldn't take you an hour to knock out 3-500 words on an easy subject. If it does, use this as an opportunity to get better.

In less than three months I've gone from never working a content mill job (only private clients before now, but I wanted to advance beyond those few jobs), to ranked as an expert, and working with several regular customers.

I have 99% happy clients (you can check my rating if you don't believe it) and I work almost exclusively on the 'back end,' doing repeat jobs for clients who appreciate me and pay better for my services.

I've only had one 'bad,' experience, and it was just the wrong fit for me. No one has been rude. I have one bad rating from someone who didn't like my work. (Oh No... less than perfect... surely that never happens to anyone)

I had a single issue, it was nothing terrible and they resolved it very promptly.
Honestly... I see these other reviews, and I know not everyone will have the same experiences everywhere, but I didn't have these problems.

If you're looking to expand, or you're new to writing, or you've just been out of the game a while and are looking for a place to pick up a few quick jobs, I'd say go for it.

They charge a pittance ($1.25 a week only if you get paid) and it's true that you can easily build up to doing ten or twenty short jobs a day if you're fast. I knock out as much work as I want most days and then go back to my other work-at-home job.

I will update this if anything ever changes, but... three months, thumbs up... seriously, no complaints. Take a few lowball jobs, get better jobs. Talk to your clients, they will send more work your way if they like you and they have it, but... you do have to interact with people rather than doing one off jobs without comment.

You will not make a mint your first week, or ever doing this sort of work, but you can establish solid relationships and use this as a stepping stone to actually advance if you know what you're about.

Try it. If it's not for you, do three or four quick jobs for a few bucks and call it square.

My rating...
Clients 4.5 stars, some provide less info than I want to see

Customer Service 5 stars, same day every time

Jobs 4.5 stars, some days are a touch slow, but there's good variety

Ability to Advance 4.5 stars... I do wish they had even higher levels and more high end clients, but it's not bad at all

Ease of use 5 stars

Payments 4.9 stars (slow once, and still paid fairly promptly, hey... we're all human)

Cost 5 stars... it's a dollar and a quarter for processing. That's fair.

Repeat business 6 out of 5... people like it when you do good work and even better when you talk to them and offer to do more of it.

Tip for consumers:
Try it, you may like it.

Avoid this company, Brandon the owner does not return any balance outstanding in your account he keeps it! Be warned!. The writing I have had from 3 writers has been terrible, I have had to send multiple reminders and content samples of what I'm looking for. In the end I have re written the articles myself and wasted hours trying to get people to do it for me. What a terrible service avoid if you value your time and money!
