“Scammed”

I made a reservation on hilton.com for the 11th of the month and received a confirmation for the 12th. Customer service stated they would have to charge me $25 to change it. He also explained top of the $25 it was also $22 more for the 11th. The agent then told me if I booked 2 nights I could avoid the fee. I only need the room for one night. Why would I pay for two? I do not know what kind of scam booking is running, but I travel to visit family frequently and I will never stay at this or any other Hilton again.

Couldn't make my reservations because of a blizzard in Chicago. So I cancelled my reservation since my flight was cancelled. Called them to ask about a refund and they said no. That I didn't cancel before the cut off time.
No $#*!s given that it was totally out of my control. Shame on them for not considering weather and cancelled flights for their customers. I'm out over $500…

Tip for consumers:
Awful company policies that do not consider weather or flight cancellations.

Products used:
None. Nor will I ever use Hilton again. Horrible customer service.

I actually got con in getting the hotel and resort packet and ever since then it has been a nightmare, not only they did not tell you everything up front with anything just adding fees, ( I have not even used my point yet) but when you call the call center is worse no help really a bunch of running around for something that could be so simple, they don't return your phone call or emails. I could go on and on abut this, I personally don't see it worth it and if it didn't mess up my credit I would love to walk away and spend my money on a Air B&B. They sell you a easy dream of easy way to have a vacation.

Visited Hilton at 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford, NJ.They wouldn't let us check in until 4:45 even though check in was at 4. We were there at 3:55 and they told us to return at 4! Our rooms weren't available. Finally at 4:45 we got a room. There were people in it already, Finally got a room and it was 79 degrees all night. Hotel knew of the issue and nothing was done. We will never stay at Hilton again. The desk staff was indifferent and seemed to care less about our issues. When I called Hilton to complain they said because I booked at reservation desk.com there was nothing they could do. I thought I booked at Hiltons reservation desk.

I had booked a quick trip to go see my dinette in Hemet California. My job didn't allow me to go that weekend that I booked so I called and asked if I could bump it for the following week and I was told I could not so I requested a cancellation and a refund they would not do that for me, but yet at the same time they would not but my reservation For a week later. Their excuse was while you booked it through a third-party, which was through my job. That's ridiculous. They pass the buck but yet keep my money and won't even try to help me change my date for a week later that is big company, greed, thank you Hilton I will never use you again and I will use the power of 10 to let everybody know how crappy of a company you are.

We recently stayed 6 nights. From afar its beautiful. Up close, its a 17 year hotel that need some remodeling. The location is fabulous. Beautiful beaches and views. Conrad made an excellent decision in buying this property. The Good.
After checking, about 4pm, in we went to the Careenage bar/restaurant just off the front lobby. There were only 2 people inside, a man behind the bar and a woman at a barstool. Neither recognized our existence. After sitting at a table for 5ish minutes we figured it just open yet. (The bartender couldn't have said something?). So, we shuffled down to the bar/grill in the pool area. It was maybe 1/3 occupied and there were 2 waitresses. Again, 5ish minutes with no service from either waitress. No recognition of our existence. OK, maybe we're supposed to order at the bar. My wife went to the bar and ordered our drinks. An old fashioned for me and an oj and tonic for her, (she doesn't drink). Alrighty then, we're back in business. The old fashioned was mediocre but I killed it off. Attempted another order. Again, we sat there for several minutes watching the waitresses crush their ankles. Finally, one had to walk by our table to deliver someone else's order. "HEY, does this table get wait service or what" I asked. "Yes, what do you want," she answered laconically. We had another round and headed to their big restaurant, The Lighthouse for dinner.
The Lighthouse's menu is a one price, $110BD, dinner consisting of soup, salad, veggie choices, entrée, (4 choices), and desert. Not a bad deal. But all I wanted was the lamb curry and grilled vegetables. The very friendly and attentive waitress explained that I would have to pay more for this than for the full dinner. Ordered the dinner. The curry was pretty good but the grilled veggies were cold and soggy. The Bad.
Two days later we decided to retry the Careenage for a round of drinks. The service was good, the O.F. Was meh and I presented a free drink coupon, (given at check in to Diamond members). The waiter advised the coupon would pay for wifey's orange juice but not the old fashioned. WTF? The coupon clearly states its good for 1, non blended drink. A somewhat surly manager came over and told me the coupon is not valid for blended drinks or call alcohol. I advised that an o.f. Isn't blended and I didn't request any call alcohol. He simply stated its not good for that drink. I don't know if this manager was confused or was rotely following Hilton's instructions. Now the $7 difference, (o.j. Vs o.f.), isn't going to break us but nobody likes a bait and switch. The Cheap.

After this second encounter with the Careenage we decided to take our eating and drinking outside of the Hilton. This could be a challenge for people who are not comfortable walking a bit.

Overall the hotel is nice, comfortable and like I stated, the views. It could use some cosmetics and some trim pieces here and there. The electronics on the elevators are a bit hinky and the ice machine on our floor/wing was broken for the duration of our stay. As our stay was paid on points, we don't feel cheated but would not consider returning at retail prices.

We are Hilton Honor members. We stayed in Fallsview Room 1861 for a mini getaway without kids. We walked in the bathroom, there was a wet towel in the sink and no soap or toiletries. We called and all they did was take the wet towel. Also, there was no hair dryer. We stay in Hiltons all over North America. This was very disappointing and telling them was useless. Please read before you go. We will not be returning.

I booked over 10 rooms at this hotel thinking I would get Hilton/Hampton Inn Quality for my guests for an event I had within 4 miles of this place. This place was a dump and the night shift ratchett check in person NATASHA was so unprofessional along with the general manager Tonya of whom I have been waiting a call back from now for over 4 days. No call from them and No call back from Hilton case #******* and case #*******. Not only was I upset because when one of my guests, (a corporate customer of mine) checked in, the Checkin lady Natasha told her the reservations were canceled because of Credit Card Fraud. Which was a mistake on the Hotel sales manager's (Hew Hartman) fault in which I have in writing where he was supposed to transfer the 4 reservations on hold for my guests to 10 reservations at a reserved price (5 singles and 5 doubles) which my group surpassed the 10 minimum rooms. I called Natasha after my guest called me 1:00 AM on Feb 10 to ask her what does she mean by I committed credit card fraud and she hung up on me after rudely telling me she is not going to speak with me. I demanded an answer during the business hours but never got to speak to the manager. The lady that answered the phone warned me if I called Hilton or Hampton inn corporate that it would only come back to them alluding to the fact that Hilton is not going to do one darn thing about it! She was right and lets talk BEDBUGS. Yes Bed bugs. Two of my guests had bed bug bites and the video of the actual bed bugs on them. Also Natasha told another guest asking for a blanket in their room because of heat issues that she was busy right now because she has issues with her son. Wow What a Downgrade Hampton Inn has become and the HILTON BRAND.

Hampton Inn, Patriot's Point in Mt. Pleasant, Charleston S.C. List FREE INTERNET as one of the amenities on their web page. Please see the screenshot of the hotel reservation page in which they list FREE WI-FI under conveniences.

I stayed from 11/23-26/2023. When I checked out on 11/26/203, a fee of $4.95 for Premium Internet Access Wi-Fi was added to the bill. I consider this to be FALSE ADVERTISING, and Bait and Switch.

In addition, there was a JUNK FEE, called destination fee, of $1.82 per night.
In the original quote for the price of the room, only state & local TAX was listed in the room price quote. What is a destination fee? Am I being charged for coming to Charleston? This is a manufactured fee. Hotels should be required to advertise the total cost of the room at the time the reservation is made and stop shaking down the customer after they arrive.

In addition, when I went to the page where my reservation was saved on Hampton Inn Website, it was gone. They eliminate your original reservation with the original charges.

Not only does Hampton Inn add on JUNK FEES, they have reduced the quality of the service they offer. You can no longer find tea bags in the room, only coffee. You have to get dressed and go downstairs in the morning to get tea. In addition, they use to set out cookies in the lobby in the afternoon, GONE, no longer offering that. Dealing with hotels feels like going to a used car lot, knowing you will be sold a lemon. I am fed up with this type of pilfering from corporate businesses. The government needs to STOP THIS SHAKE DOWN of consumers. I am through with Hampton INN.

I am filing a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection/Federal Trade Commission

Tip for consumers:
All the fees and charges should be listed in the quote at the time of purchase, not tacked on after the customer arrives.

What a disappoint to login to my account and want to continue to stay at Hilton hotels only to find my points have expired and cannot be restored. After everything that has been going on with COVID over the last few years and the alleged notification to an email I can no longer access all of my points from my MANY stays with Hilton hotels are gone. Guess its on to the Hyatt for this family! Poor customer service experience!

-Hosekeeping does not show up unless you request. Did not have my room cleaned because of this policy.
-Noise coming from pool area never stops, I got a room on 4th floor could not sleep until 2:30 AM. There is no limit how late people are in pool area.
-Receptionists with attitudes.
-No water in the room. Have to purchase from a vending machine. A 4-star hotel cannot afford a 10 cents bottle of water?
Will not be coming here again.

The Tru Hilton hotel in Mobile, Alabama, where my husband and I recently stayed had damaged linen and furniture, toilet plush intermittently, and staff was unprofessional. It began with my requested first floor room was not ready during checked-in to the front desk could not give a time when the maintenance person will be available to fix the toilet. The hotel did try to resolve the issue and gave us another room down the hall on the same third floor. However, that room had the same problem as the previous room, toilet pressure low and would not plush to include low shower water pressure. I brought it back up to, Kimberly, at the front desk so she could switch us back to our original room, due to the first room had a better shower pressure and no more rooms were available. Therefore, my husband and I had to relieve ourselves in the public restroom on the first floor that does work. The area where breakfast is served had dead and alive roaches and ants to include rodents in our room. Despite this, the employee at the front desk told me the next morning that the manager, Tyanna, told her to get me escorted off the premises by the police because I have been causing problems and all I did was just ask when will maintenance be available and for clean towels at the front desk. There were several witnesses there from another group that can verify that there was nothing warranting the police to be called. Even though the general manager, Friday, emailed me that she was unavailable until after the Labor Day holiday and to contact Tyanna, she has yet to do so about the above concerns after trying to contact her by email and phone. Tyanna is a terrible manager who really does not want to work, causing the rest of the staff to have the same unprofessional attitude. All the employees do is stay glued to their cell phones, do not answer the phone, and/or eat while engaging with customers at the front desk. This is unacceptable for the money you pay and needs to be addressed immediately. What a way to treat Retired, Disabled Veterans! There was no criminal altercation to warrant this level of escalation. Even though, the General Manager, Friday, finally answered our concerns days later, she in return only made excuses for her staff and their behavior to ask us not to return to her establishment again. All people have to do is look at the reviews from up to a year ago or longer to see the trend of the hotel staff being rude and management NEVER around. Be cautious when dealing with this hotel!

Hampton Inn Dallas-Rockwall. Checked in 9/29/23. Had a prepaid reservation for 2 nights, but internet was down when I arrived. Front desk had a printed list, but no room number assigned, so she assigned me one. I return from my evening plans and go to bed. Someone knocks at the door at 11pm and wakes me up. It takes me a while to wake up and get up. In the meantime, the door is opened and someone tries to come in! I start yelling and firing questions. He says he's the manager, but offers no name or identification. I'm still yelling. He says he has no record of my reservation and demands my ID and credit card. He leaves, then returns those to me in just a minute, and I immediately get a notification that my CC has been charged again by this hotel. He never tried to straighten out the problem, never apologized, just charged my credit card again. What kind of scam is this general manager running in this hotel? Frightening old ladies late at night by breaking into their hotel rooms that we assume is a safe place to stay? I quit shaking, got dressed, and went down to the front desk to get to the bottom of this. Kaveen Patel, GM, was nowhere around, but the lady manning the front desk was very helpful and tracked down the multiple errors that resulted in my nightmare situation. I had been assigned a different room on the reservation in my name, and a different last name on the room I was in. Not a wink of sleep the rest of the night. Went to lobby for coffee at 6 AM. The whole front of the hotel was lined with 18 wheeler trucks.
Then the man ahead of me getting coffee looks like he's been beat to pulp! Scary sight at 6 am. I'm confused! Has this place turned into a truck stop? I sure don't feel safe as a senior lady traveling alone in this environment. I thought a Hilton hotel would be safe. This place has a General Manager that feels he can just walk into your room in the middle of the night, and worse-for-wear truckers that are pushing you out of the way of the coffee in the lobby. I need an apology from the GM, and some sort of compensation for the nightmare I was forced to experience. Neither of which was provided at this hotel.

I have been a Hilton Honors member through American Express since 1996 and was generally happy about them until now. Suddenly, in July 2023, they deducted points from my account. I contacted them and they directed me back to American Express. Then I wrote to both the American Express CEO and Hilton CEO. After a few weeks of investigation, this is what I am told:
"Our records indicate that your Hilton Honors account had a negative point balance of 1,392 since March of 2006. As you recently resumed use of your account, points earned from the transactions billed on your July 2023 statement were used to offset this negative point balance. Regrettably, we do not retain transaction records beyond seven (7) years and therefore cannot specify the transaction(s) that lead to the negative point balance."
But I always had a positive point balance in this account until Dec 2022 when the last points were used to pay for an Amazon order! Why weren't these points deducted between 2006 and 2022?
I think this is just another way to fleece the customers under the pretext of "we don't know why you owe us, we just know you owe us"!
I am going to close this account and move on. Adios Hilton and American Express!

I recently saw a Hilton ad showing 2 men with a child walking into Hilton hotel room. I was about to decide to give Hilton $100,000+/year in business. I will not enable companies that kowtow to Leftist agendas. I have no problem with gay couples, however, they represent 1/1000 couples in USA, and they cannot have kids by NATURE, so why are they being promoted on TV?

Beautiful hotel with excellent views over Windhoek.
Only 2 active reception counters. Check-in to rooms are 3pm, some of the guests rooms was only ready by 4pm. The card sistem for the doors was not working. Staff run up and down to solve the problem. Service at the restaurant and sky bar is poor. The light meals are totally over priced. The food was not too bad. At the Wellness Centre, the service was good, the staff was friendly and on time. The best service we received was at the parking lobby.

I should have known when we got to our room. On our first day, I had to call the maintenance because the towel rack was loose and threatened to fall on us while in the shower. There was a spider web (!) on the fire emergency sprinkler that I also asked to be cleaned. Never mind, let's go on with our vacation. Next day, the spa turned the vacation to Horror: the glass door of the shower fell off its handle while our son was getting out of the shower… and cut him on many places on his leg, foot, and toes. Unpleasant pictures attached, showing how devastating the damage was (in short 18 stitches and lifelong scarring). The staff was supportive at the time of the incident, they changed our room because our son was in a wheelchair, so they put us on the ground floor where the suites were located. They also covered all the medical costs but paid, only after I asked, the equivalent of one night of stay at their hotel, while our holiday that was still going on in Egypt for 3 more days, was ruined. And they have absolutely refused to admit any negligence and have refused to provide any proof that their installation was technically OK. They claim, in the email chain that followed, that their technical inspection revealed all was OK at their side, but they refused to exhibit that proof. When we checked out, the Front Office manager tried to make me sign a piece of paper which was basically saying I was relieving the hotel of all future responsibility regarding the injury sustained by my son. Of course, I did not sign that and claimed damages to the hotel. They firmly denied all liability and clearly expressed it was not their fault nor responsibility. Hilton rejects all responsibility and has not made a single effort since we left their premises to smoothen the situation, nor enquire about our son's health. At this stage, Hilton management has disappeared from the conversation, and I have been dealing with their Insurer Chubb. After we requested compensation from them for the damage incurred, their insurer wrote to me:

"they [the hotel] never asked to be compensated for their property damages, due to the act of the son"

Yes, you read that right! Unprofessional, dealing in bad faith, and withholding information. Bravo!

So, Hilton Luxor now rhymes with disappointment, anger, let down and irresponsibility. Are you planning to stay there? I won't wish you a good stay, I will wish you "Good Luck" and "Bon courage".

Don't, other safer options are available, no need to risk your health and well-being at Hilton Luxor

I had made a reservation for the Hampton by Hilton St Charles Ave in New Orleans LA to stay one night and to leave our vehicle at the property while we were on a cruise. When making the reservation I was told that the parking would be $10 a night. I called a few days before the trip to confirm and to ask about a shuttle and was told that parking was $20 a day. When I told them that is not what I was told and the only reason I booked with them was because they assured me parking was $10 a day. They simply said I was misinformed and the person was going off past information and they would not honor it. They did refund my money. I am not willing to support a company that does not stand behind their word, or try to make it right.
