On a free book promo, over 1700 people downloaded my book; far more than I expected. I also received about 20 reviews, mostly of 4-5 star reviews. I will definitely use this again. Granted, the price of $75 is a bit steep, but I made that back, barely. Great service. Thanks for this opportunity. One problem I had, however, was that almost all the downloads were from American readers, so I don't know if Freebooksy is open to international readers. Regardless, this was a very successful promo for me.
I too was very unhappy with freebooksy. Thinking it was free. I tried twice to read a book with freebooksy only to read 5 or 6 chapters getting very interested in the book. Then to be told that was the end of your free book sample. Never to know rhe end of the stories I started to read. Very disappointing

This week, 2 books that i thought were free were $3.99. I was remiss in checking the cost prior to selecting the first however in the future, i'll verify the price before i select the FREE book. Today, august 19, "columbian killers" was FREE for the $3.99 price on amazon.
This is a site that posts links, bios, and synopsis of free ebooks available on Amazon.com for the kindle.
The site is pretty straightforward, a blog really, that you click and it opens in a new window where you click BUY NOW on amazon and it's done.
Straight forward and to the point.
The downside, they spam you via email if you sign up for updates on your literary genre of choice, and on facebook they flood their wall with everyone that is on their page.
Overall, the content isn't worthy of more than 3 stars, but for what it is I'll admit it's one of the better free ebook sites out there.
If they would offer Nook books as well, it'd be 4-5 stars.
This is a great site that finds the best free ebooks that are available every day. Most of the selection consists of free Kindle books, though the also find free Nook books, free Kobo books and free ebooks for Apple. You can sign up for a daily email and they'll send you all the free ebooks that are available in the genres of your choice so you don't have to remember to check the site. It's perfect for avid readers who are looking to fill their ereaders with great books at no cost.
