Question:

I have never purchased a puppy online before and am curious as to how the process normally goes. a main concern is about payment methods such as cash wire transfer, is this a typical form of payment when making such purchases online?

Answer:

No, that is not a safe way to send money. A reputable breeder should ask for a deposit through a different means, such as a check through the mail or paypal. Some even accept credit cards. Whichever the method is, you should have some recourse to be able to get your money back if anything goes wrong or the breeder doesn't make good on his/her promises. Answer:

We're not sure of the individual ad in question, but if there is a concern such as the one you raised, we have a tool in place to "flag" an ad. We don't want you or anyone to be scammed, and if there is a concern its best to skip that ad and flag it.

Question:

Answer:

We provide the ability for sellers to list their licenses and certification in their profile. However, nothing replaces healthy skepticism when it comes to purchasing a dog. It is always prudent to deal locally and make sure the dog is not sick or injured and it is well cared for. As a buyer you need to do your due diligence before making a purchase and if there are red flags or concerns by all means find another seller.

Question:

Answer:

Your ad might have been placed on a different website and then picked up by Oodle. Oodle is an ad aggregator. We subscribe to the Oodle data feed and this is clearly marked on the ad as "powered by Oodle". The ad will take a buyer back to Oodle where they can then contact the seller.
