I'm a young woman with an orientation difference, and I'm full of talent, in writing, music, and drawing. I've joined this site after learning internet safety, which I didn't know much about before getting my new laptop for Christmas last year. Thank god I've learned internet safety, recently. So many users have gotten themselves into trouble, for harassing, threatening, or beating teens down. Taking advantage of them. I'd say if you're an adult it's okay for you to join the site. If you are a teen, please get off the site. It's not for children under the age of 21. Those are the rules.
But on the bright-sight, I've gotten many favorites for my grim-reaper and the gray alien I've drawn. I still plan on drawing more to come, and I really love the black with the sparkles on the core membership. It makes a good-wall paper, including the snakes, and skulls.

DeviantArt is a very toxic website and is full of fetishes. Even though DeviantArt has a setting where you can disable mature content, some fetishes will still be uncensored. There's also lots of p_rn on this website as well as lots of perv_rts in the community, so beware of disturbing content, especially if making a YouTube video on DeviantArt!

It happened last year, quit within couple of months because a certain person made fun of one of my works one time. Besides the bullying one of the most infuriating problems is that if your not doing pornhub fetish crap or fancy rich people digital art then you basically don't exist. I do art the old fashioned way with pencil on paper, I don't know how that digital stuff works and don't care. It's nearly impossible for someone starting out to get recognized.

They support Israel's genocide on Gaza. Check the United Nations website(ohchr. Org without the spaces) for more info

They just gave ai "art" a Daily Deviation (Basically they promote an artwork on the site to others) dA has been sucking the soul of the site and everything about what the the old dA was all about. Not to mention some people's profiles are bugged out and can't edit subgalleries after creation.

Tip for consumers:
How little it values it's customers, and supports false info

Getting my auto ship food this past delivery was a horrific experience, I am sad to say. First attempt initially was lost in transit and I had to call for a replacement. My second arrived (pics sent to rep and customer service) punctured, no box, with holes punched in the bag and appeared to have been tampered with. Again spent time emailing pictures and frantic about running out of food. Third bag... and it arrived again, outside the box, NOT air tight and also has holes in it. I was sent 2 4 lb bags to get Duke through. I must tell you I was beyond frustrated. I was no compensated for my time or hassle and honestly with the last error, the customer service agent acted like I was in the wrong. It was disappointing. I sent a very detailed email to customer service... including pictures, tracking information for UPS for YOUR convenience. No one has contacted me... besides this survey... or offered me any further information or support around what went wrong. This is concerning, given the reputation of life's abundance. Thought someone should know my experience. Thank you. 1

Created an account because the site requires you to sign up to see all content on the site. Received an email out of the blue stating I had been permanently banned (no warnings, no prior notifications) due to being an alt account of a previously banned user. This utterly confused me, as I had never been banned before or even used alternate accounts. Reached out and was told they use "tools" to identify connected accounts.

I realized I had just been using a VPN a few times while connected, and reached out multiple times to inform them, only to receive no response each time.

They will permanently ban and delete your account if you use a VPN. This is nothing less than heinous. See previous reviews regarding DeviantArt's absolutely terrible and immoral behavior.

I had spent over twelve years on DeviantArt and I must say that it is absolutely a nightmare now than what it used to be. What was once a fun and entertaining website to be on as I eagerly enjoyed daily usage, now I dread having to even sign on to see what garbage has decided to bother me now.

If it's not the bot followers I receive, there's always either some fricking underage kid or pedophile fetishest adding innocent artworks to their dirty collections. I despise what this website has become, absolutely no control over the amount of garbage users have been joining in recent years (i.e., the bots, kids and pedos) posting terrible half-attempt drawings that provide no value.

To make things worse, DeviantArt now supports A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) "art" on its platform, as well as forcing a paywall on an important feature like "2-Step Authenticator" is only available for Core users.

What has become of this website? It's practically on life support at this point.

Tip for consumers:
Learn that this website is NOT intended for kids!

I've created 3 Deviantart Core accounts. All 3 have been deleted by the moderators without just cause.

Tip for consumers:
On the 3 occasions my accounts were deleted it mean't I lost the pro-rata $ value of my membership, I lost all my submitted work and all the money earned from commissions was forfeit. I bet they didn't return it to my core tier members. They're just thieves.

Deviantart is a terrible art site. The site is very toxic. There are trolls, spam accounts, bullying, and art thieves. Also the help desk is useless. The moderators are bad at their jobs. The bullying, and inappropriate behavior continues on the site. What's out of control is the kind of art people are submitting as well. There is cp on the site, uncensored porn, and tons of fetish art.

I sometimes spend my time checking out the new art on sites, but on this one I can't scroll an inch without being bombarded with fetish porn of characters.

Not only that, but thanks to the site promoting $#*! like this, I can't look up some characters without one of the first things I see being a fetishized version of them!
Some aren't even adults, I've seen inflation and vore of straight up children!

The only reason I remain on the site is for the genuine good art, but even that might not be enough, I would never recommend this site.

I remember the old classic Deviantart. Since the new updates things have changed, also not to mention it's pretty weird now. The Staff doesn't help you and don't care what problem you have. I've had an account for 9 years that I believe was hacked and they couldn't help or believe the account is indeed mine and I know my information is correct. So much hard work and dedication to that account lost... I'm disappointed is this company.

This site is totally racist, and targets Black artist... ESPECIALLY Black men that choose to post nudes! I have seen PLENTY of non Black deviants with porn pics, erect penises, women spreading their vagina, and even a few showing penetration, and body fluids! They're allowed to remain, yet as soon as I post a nude, they remove it, even though I label my photos as mature! I feel unfairly targeted by this site, and honestly it should be shut down if this is their M. O!

This used to be an art community where I was proud to draw for but not anymore. It is a shell of what it once was.
The site has been irreparably torn by the toxicity, drama. And neglect from the staff. The user base has become dangerous and unpredictable. Some of them are alt-right or even Nazis. (i am not kidding) At this point attempting to talk to users or work with them only puts you at risk for getting hurt.
This site must be avoided at all costs. Go to art station, twitter, or even Fur Affinity if you want to have an enjoyable art experience.

Deviantart is disgusting. I started visiting this website when I was a kid and now that I'm older I realize that it is not acceptable. The rules are nonexistent and there are creeps everywhere. I like some fetish art but recommending underage characters is unacceptable. You can scroll down in the comments and see what kind of sick people are using this site. Reporting does basically nothing and most of the time it won't let you report because it says it was already reported and the moderators said it was acceptable. Also they shouldn't have kids and adults on the same site. I say steer clear and don't let your kids on this site.

I was a user on DA for five years it was on this site that I first started writing fan fiction which gave me the confidence to write my own works I feel what killed this site wasn't just the fact that the owners became greedy but also they allowed trolls to attack other users in January of this year my account was closed down due to trolls currently beside focusing on building my following up with my writing I am also looking for another site like DA this site used to be a safe haven for artists writers and photographers but that was before wix decided to use it to make money. The trolls now rule this site

Site built up on using your desperation and dangling carrot of hope to make you upload and create free art they then ignore and somehow still manage to monetize.

All these 'artist' websites are all barely a step above bb message boards, no matter how many flashy badges and useless trite they pile on top. Terrible database, terrible search functions, we only care about new and hot and popular, undiscovered shows you popular art anyway, groups are narcissistic pools of nothing which you have to beg to get into, and in return you get ignored like everywhere else...

Save yourself the trouble. It's all a scam and a shil, every single one of these communities. You'll get less trauma and anxiety from shovelling dead bodies into a mass grave than dealing with this. Predators preying on desperation and using false hope to keep you a punching bag. You'll sooner make it selling art at a bus stop.

Thank you, DeviantArt, thank you for making the life of a common artist as painful and miserable as is possible.

A week ago, I joined DeviantArt and created an account under the username "seospecialist," reflecting my 15 years of experience as an SEO specialist. Additionally, I shared some of the website-related artwork I had created. To my surprise, I recently received an email from DeviantArt notifying me that my account has been suspended, accompanied by the brief comment "spammer" from the administrator. I am genuinely perplexed by their decision and find their lack of respect and decency disheartening. It is crucial for them to learn to value their users and make more informed judgments regarding account management. I feel dehumanized by their treatment. While I understand that spammers pose challenges, it is unjust for me to bear the brunt of their frustration. It is disheartening when a platform fails to treat its users with fairness and consideration.

These people claim that they are open to all art. I've had an account with them for about a month. I've posted some art work and the next day I get a notice that it was a violation to their "sexual terms and service". It's my 3d character clothed posing that's it. After reading through the terms several times I see nothing that violates the terms and service. After trying to contact and ask them if it can be pointed out, I get no response, and the only response I did get was a bot. Now its at the point where they are making excuses and calling a "etiquette policy" again reading through it it has nothing to do with what's in my photo, there is clearly worse things on that site than what I posted and that stuff has not been taken down. I'm currently looking into new sites that are modern and supportive being a paying customer for that account I should NOT have to fight to keep my art work up. Whoever runs this site needs to give it up to someone who knows what they are doing.

The staff ruined the site with the new awful, broken buggy and messy design, deleted all the characteristics that made the site remarkable and now they are unfairly and blatantly forcing us to use it when almost all of us were fine with the old design. And as if all that were not enough, they blatantly ignore their community. It's simply outrageous and shameful. That shows that they're a bunch of shameless coward arrogant inept incompetent morons. They don't deserve respect.

There's really nothing to add that's already been said. Lets put aside all the fetish art and sexually explicit imagery because that can be any site you go to for artwork.

1) Piss poor moderation if it's even existent at all: This allows several bad actors to get away with harassment and other forms of cyberbullying. It doesn't help when people have discriminating views and often have fragile egos when it comes to their artwork.
2) Layout sucks, hard to navigate: Way before recent times the navigation wasn't great, but everything was categorized in a way that made sense. Now it's trying too hard to be like instagram.
3) Money matters more than the user. It pushes for you to get a membership to get features that don't even matter let alone get you artwork noticed. Even then, it doesn't matter if you do because it shoves it down your throat to a point where it's going to cost you more money than it's worth and that's far worse than having to pay for an adobe subscription.
4) Lastly, the community is non-existent. Sure you could go to the forums and have some conversations but they won't do you any good given the first point that's highlighted. It's also tough to even build up a following there compared to other sites that are in existence.

The thing is I'm not the only one who had these issues and I'm actually glad that I walked away when I did. I'm not saying that this reflects the entire community, because there are people there who actually make good art. The problem however is when you have a good majority of users who only care about themselves and would rather push you to the point where you're better off going elsewhere.

But it's hard to get noticed when the site has a bias toward users who have either been there for a long time or have more of a professional background experience. It's harder for underground or unknown artists to get a following there and I'd rather go to other sites instead of DeviantArt. Sooner or later Deviant Art is going to lose a lot of it's business with everyone if it doesn't take actions to improve the community more than anything else.

If you want a site to build a following, you're better off going to Newgrounds, ArtStation, Hell even Instagram is more artist friendly than this site.

Tip for consumers:
Nope, all that needed to be said is right on the review.

Products used:
Only the site's membership, which sucks.

I am surprised nobody speaks deeper about the community. Maybe because cartoon, videogame fans and furries are taboo outside the web. Then the serious art is closer to most people which is understandable, even though some prices are really over-the-top (400 dollars? You cannot be serious) since the art doesn't have specific purpose like design on cups or T-shirts. I'm trying to keep my eyes on this category and not accidentaly look at the other group. Of course among the fan communities there are lot of overfantasizing fanfictions and lot of sexual fanart in very provocative poses but people used to be more self-aware and joking around was on daily basis. Even though there were some unpleasant closed-minded elitist know-it-alls who could bring a "maturity" card out of the place. That was some 10 years ago and more. Now the fan communities are lot more reserved and serious about what they are doing, often anti-social, hiding strong SJW mindset behind their smiles and it's all filled with early teen request spammers. There are possibly sane people but are more reserved than similar bunch used to be. But then again the professionals don't really make up much of communities since there is as expected no time for that. They are usually polite and I respect them for what they are doing. Many make tutorials and some can be very helpful to motivate you to continue and get better in art (Hyanna-Natsu is an angel) if the time allows it. Still I've encountered enormous hypocrisy over NSFW stuff from the staff, like an innocent nudity of a 17 years old may be taken down if she isn't a Pokémon trainer or stuff like that but lot of questionable fetishes stay there. It's a strike. Then dA made a huge change to the layout which started out as promising but ended up with less of possibilities and the only way to switch to the original is to be online. They risked a lot but it's still there. If they remove it, they are damned. Also I saw some masterpieces with just 2 ciphers of favourites nowadays which is a huge shame, fanarts are much bigger magnet for users. But I don't really understand how people are saying there is no freedom of speech when you can say practically everything. Well, look at MugenArchive and compare it in this aspect. Don't get shocked.
