“Failure to provide results after several contacts”

David E.
11/20/23

When I first signed my blog up to blogarama, the results appeared to be helpful but later, the exposure diminished and the results have been dismal. I contracted them several times with no response or improvement. New updates to my blog only appeared after an extensive delay. Do not recommend them at all. A lot of money spent for little to no return.

They are happy to accept payment for their services, put in their directory your site, but then "forget" to extend this service. In this case, money from your PayPal account will be paid regularly by subscription. Until you see that Blogarama stopped advertising your blog and do not turn off subscription to their services.
Blogarama takes a small amount for advertising your site. I think they do it intentionally. Who will write complaints to PayPal for $ 5 or $ 10?
Writing emails to them is useless, you will not get an answer. The only way to return your money for not receiving a service is to write a complaint to PayPal. Let's stop these scammers. Write more bad reviews about Blogarama.com-scammers and cheaters, in the blogs, forums, on overview sites.

We paid our annual 99USD fee on 6 April to Blogarama renewing our listing and advertising of online journal The BookBlast Diary with them. But the last post featured by them from the BookBlast Diary is dated Feb 2018.

Their answer to an enquiry email was "I still cannot understand anything, please don't write us about translators, writers etc. that's not our business. In simple words - what do you want from us?"

We answered that The BookBlast Diary blog fits the blogarama site's sector books & literature' and that it is SEPARATE from work supplying editing and translating services via the company BookBlast Ltd.

We also pointed out that a blogger making unauthorized use of the BOOKBLAST Federally Registered Mark on their site shows up -- BookBlast® is a registered trademark in the UK (Reg.No: *******); & the USA (Reg.No: 3,714,430). We would expect Blogarama to be respectful of the intellectual property rights of others because of the value that the company must place on the rights of its authors, small businesses and other members.

Clearly what was once a good service has gone belly up. We would like our unfulfilled subscription fee reimbursed however it seems unlikely given the lack of response to emails and dud number *******806 which is not recognised.

BookBlast Ltd, London

Tip for consumers:
A once good service best avoided. Spend your money elsewhere!

I paid $99 for an annual subscription and requested an invoice to be able to expense it and get paid by my company. I sent not less than 20 emails within two weeks requesting a receipt and 100% of my requests were completely ignored.
My company won't be able to reimburse me without an invoice, Blogarama won't respond to my request and I lost $99.
Customer service doesn't exist, so if you paid and have a problem, they are nowhere to be found.

Ten years ago, before the explosion of social media, bloggers often joined a blog directory to help promote their content. One such site called Blogarama was one of the better blog directories in its hay day, but with falling membership and revenues it was sold about a year ago.

I used to be an active member of Blogarama to promote my original food blog but allowed my membership to become dormant and used other methods to get traffic. In April last year I moved my food blog to Wordpress and promoted my new blog through all the usual social media channels. Then about six weeks ago I discovered that Blogarama
Had taken my RSS feed, without permission, they even created a Chef Kevin Ashton page, giving the impression I had done this myself.

I wrote to them asking them to remove my copyrighted material and they basically said no. They went on to say that taking my RSS feed would drive more traffic to my site which simply was not the case.

When I looked more closely I found Blogarama had posted complete articles and recipes so there was no need for a reader to go to the source (my blog). To add insult to injury Blograma offers to shorten
The length of my articles/recipes to just a paragraph (to drive traffic back to my site for $9 a month.

I then upped my game and sent a DMCA takedown notice and also decided to blog about this copyright infringement on my non-food blog
Grumpy Old Men http://grumpyoldmen.typepad.com/grumpyoldmen/2016/10/blogarama-kings-of-plagerism-.html
And then other people began to report similar experiences (which I have detailed in my article).

When Blogarama changed hands they also hid their ownership using a company called Whoisguard.Inc and hide the name of their hosting company by using a network service called CloudFlare.

If you google Blogarama you will see quite a few (historical and old) good reviews of the site but also you will find links to these examples:
http://olivetreegenealogy.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/heads-up-blogarama-violating-copyright.html
https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/4zukvo/question_about_blogarama/
http://www.geneabloggers.com/splog-alert-blogarama-violating-copyright/

With a lot of content, Blogarama has a platform they can sell advertising on, but getting content in this way is Plagiarism in the worst way and then charging people $9 could possibly be extortion.

So if you own a blog I strongly suggest you google Blogarama along with your name to see if they have done this to you.
