I have been a customer of 39 $glasses.com for over eight years. Wow the prices of the glasses do go up quickly when increasing the quality of your lenses, these are still half the price of prescription glasses from stores. I have always been happy to return to the site and get well-made products quickly. Granted, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to cheap glasses, whether they be metal frames or plastic frames. But I've also loved their transition lenses and sunglass options!

Very poor quality control. Glasses arrived with one lens chipped at the bottom. Simple inspection would have revealed it. Customer service is useless. But, hey, they "understand my frustration"... International delivery is $30 every direction, so you end up with paying 3 times for shipping, almost $90. Will never make the mistake of buying there again.

I've bought a 5 pairs of glasses through 39dollar glasses and they went ok. This last pair was $250 but were unusable. I was told I can return them one time only? I opted for money back so they charged me 30% restocking fee. My local ophthalmologist guarantees me to be happy no matter what. Very unhappy

I purchased prescription sunglasses from this crap company. The sunglasses I received were barely sunglasses. Very low tint which made it uncomfortable to wear outside, they are like tinted regular glasses. The glasses say Adult and they wouldn't fit a kid

The worst part is that if you want to return their cheap glasses there will be a 30% restocking fee. So these glasses I am sending back and it will cost me $60 to return them.
Run away, don't walk from 39 Dollar glasses. Cheap product and I think they make their money on the 30% return.

Ordered my fourth pair of eyeglasses from this company. Everything was blurry. Returned them. Response was it passed our inspection. Now I am on the hook for a 30 percent restocking fee for a defective product that I am unable use so I returned the defective lenses. Never buy any type of eyeglasses from this company. I am out 84 dollars because if it passed their inspection and I cannot see any thing clearly thru these glasses. My only choice was to return defective product

I've probably purchased over a dozen times from these guys. Used to love them but it's a disaster now. They sent me defective frames 3 times. They stopped answering the phone when I called, putting me to voicemail. I had to use an anonymous google voice number to call, and then what a surprise, someone answered right away. Took huge effort to get a refund, very bad business. Won't shop there again.

I ordered the Bellamy glasses on 4/23/22 and received them early May. I only realized a couple weeks ago that they were defective beyond my ability to repair them and contacted 29dollarglasses as I had thought this could be fixed. The glasses were to large for my face, and slid down my nose. The biggest issue however was the glasses sitting crooked on my face. I attempted to fix this at home after watching many videos, and tried several times. I even sent them to a shop to be looked at. This took time to coordinate. But 39dollarglasses informed me that the glasses couldn't be fixed and I could only exchange. I was refused a refund. I emailed and called. I explained that this is the second subpar product I have purchased from 39dollarglasses, I do not wish to have anymore, and I'm only interested in a refund so I can purchase a better pair somewhere else. I expressed my frustration to the support staff on the phone, Tiffany, and left the call. I received an unprofessional email back guilt tripping me about how she didn't have to help me out as much as she did. I no longer wish to speak with or do business with this company, and I am currently in disputes to get my money back.

Tip for consumers:
Just don’t. They are money hungry and cheap.

Just did the buy one get one deal with 39Dollar glasses. After ecieving them I found the quality to be very poor and returned them for a refund. Read their refund policy and they take 30%. But it states a full refund. Stay away from this company.

Things have changed at 39Dollar Glasses. Firstly, their styles of frames are far behind the trends and are of a medium to low quality. Secondly, they've decided to very annoyingly up-sell in every step of the process, offering (a mandatory section; you must choose something) 1) UltimateView Light & Thin Rx Lenses - included in the price of the frames themselves OR one of these two other add-on, upswell options... Which seem remarkably similar to one another: Option 2)
UltimateView Light & Thin Rx Lenses with Anti-Reflective Coating for $24.95, or option 3) UltimateView Super Thin Rx Lenses with Premium Anti-Reflective Coating for $59.99. So, no more $39 dollar glasses as this potion is just the beginning of the confusing and meaningless upgrades they throw your way. Because next, for some reason there' another antireflective option: Crizal Prevencia Anti-Reflective Coating and added to AR package for, $55.00... Okay so the next mandatory category is also related to coatings... Antireflective coatings, which I'd thought they just covered... but here we go again: 1) UltimateView Anti-Reflective Coating
What's UltimateView Anti-Reflective Coating? For $24.95, or 2) Blue495 Anti-Reflective Coating. $49.95 and wait for it: 3) Crizal Prevencia Anti-Reflective Coating... this time around for $79.95 (What?) - Ridiculous. And thirdly, the most important place 39 Dollar Glasses has slipped is in customer service, or more accurately in lying. I was given the go ahead for a return and refund, given an RA number and they emailed me the return label to print out, all in one customer service call. I filled din the paperwork and printed out the return label and went to the post office and sent them back... Only to be sent an email stating I could not return the glasses for a refund but only for "store credit". Bad. Bad, bad customer service. Skip 39Dollar Glasses. There are many other companies providing this service and doing better at it. Try Pollette.

Tip for consumers:
Go elsewhere. Try Polette.

Sent my Nike metal frames for re-lensing, progressive on-line, 1.75 prescription. Nothing unreasonable, I've had 3 week service on new glasses several times at GlassesUSA, but they don't do this service. The order tracking is virtually useless, as the status never changed from " at the lab." After 2 weeks, I emailed for some specifics on my order, and was told that quality control had rejected them... twice! Not to worry, though, was told they should go out in a few days. When three more weeks passed (and no change in the order status language), I requested a refund and return of my sunglasses, which has occurred. I have placed an order for the same cost with another company, and will hope for better communication and completion time. I don't think it could possibly be worse.

I ordered frames and availed of their free lenses. Well you get what you pay for. The lens grade for the right eye was correct but the lens grade on the left was for reading. Ugh!

I had a bad experience with another online glasses purchase, but couldn't pass up the price. With insurance my glasses were well over $200 because of my need for high index. I was skeptical at first until I tried them on. They are the best pair of glasses that I've ever worn since I've paid for my own, and I will definitely recommend them AND I will definitely use them again.

I ordered glasses and spoke with Evon at 39dollarglasses.com, and it was the worst experience, I did Not order online, I called and spoke with Evon, I think she said that she was the owner, for I told Evon that my order has to be 30% Light Gray Tint, and she said it will, and I also sent Evon an email along with my prescription stating that it has to be 30% Tint, and today I received the glasses and they were 90% Tint. So whatever you do, do Not buy glasses from this place, for they will never give you the glasses you want, and they are rude over the phone when there is a problem, and when I went to the post office I waited in a very long line to send these damn glasses back! I paid by credit card and I put in a claim, so I am letting Visa take over for now, but you should NEVER pay them by debit card, money order, or check because they will fight to not give your money back when they rip you off.

I ordered progressive lenses with anti-glare coating from this company. I finally received the glasses after two weeks, and the quality is horrible. Halos and reflections everywhere. No way this is "anti-glare" anything. I wish I had read the fine print more carefully when I bought these things. Didn't realize until too late that progressive lenses are not part of the 100% satisfaction guarantee. Looks like I am now facing a 30% "restocking fee" to return what is clearly a defective product. Stay away from this company!

Tip for consumers:
Go somewhere else! The quality is awful.

I've had two pairs of new Paul Smith frames lensed at 39dollarglasses for single vision full time wear. First pair 1.67 index super thin lenses ($89) on acetate full frame and second pair 1.59 index thin lenses ($64) on acetate half frame.

Both glasses are fine and the quality of lenses is good, although the edges of the lenses on the half frame were unpolished. It took a week from the time my frames were shipped to them to beginning re-lensing. There was no information as to what caused the delay when I called. All in all I'd use them again.

Tip for consumers:
Based on my experience if your prescription for nearsightedness is under -5.5, the 1.59 index thin lenses are rather good choice.

I ordered tinted glasses and requested light tint. They sent darkest tint. I contacted them and they said return them. I returned them and they then told me they could not do light tint for the glasses I ordered, but for 10.00 more they could do them in a different lens. I said I'm not paying more and they shouldn't have sent them when they were not as I ordered. I requested a full refund, they agreed. I received a partial refund. I am filing a complaint with the BBB. I will NEVER do business with this company again. They are a ripoff and a total waste of time.

I had ordered several glasses from them in the past few years and was pleased by the physical frame and lenses quality and optics. After some time had passed I just ordered again with a significantly revised distance prescription for the left eye. The prescription itself was shown correctly in their emails, but the left eye's vision still matches the old one, is quite poor. I let them know, but no response. Its not worth my time and trouble to return them, will just shop elsewhere.

Ordered Progressive glasses on May 28. As I never received an update on the progress of the order I tried to call customer service on June 11. The phone was ringing for 1 hour and 10 minutes and nobody was answering (during their office hours!). At the end I got a recording that they cannot answer the phone and I should leave a message. I left a message and they never returned my call. Next day I called again the phone was answered within 15 minutes. The rep told me that my glasses will ship the next day and I will receive a confirmation email. Having not received the confirmation email the next day I called again the following day and was told that my glasses failed quality control and they have to start from the beginning... No apology whatsoever! I canceled my order this day, June 13, and received an email that my refund will be processed within 3-5 business days. 9 business days later I still do not have my refund. Sent a email today asking where is my refund and the answer came right away: "it appears that the order was canceled but I do not see a refund issued. I've issued your refund in the amount of $197.46 and we ask that you please allow 3-5 business days for it to credit to your account".
Unbelievably sloppy! I can't even give 1 star to this mess but rating is required...

If you require multi-focal lenses, be aware there is a 30% restocking fee. For my Canadian friends, they don't have free international shipping for returns. So you will have to pay for shipping if you have to send your glasses back. Lastly, with regard to the options for multi-focal lenses, choose the best/most expensive option. Otherwise, your vision will only be in focus for things that are directly in front of you. So you'll have to shift your head a LOT to get things into focus. This isn't clear in the description. (Do you see what I did there?)

Tip for consumers:
I put it all in the review.

I'm buying glasses for $ 218, after six weeks they break up, I called, I was told to send my glasses back so I did, They sent me the frames only, I wait and wait five weeks and nothing. I called costumer services man said they never received my glasses back, and then I called for two months and nothing, No one helped me ignore it, They lost my glasses and I lost my money. They were guaranteed. I'm disappointed with this attitude costumer services. I do not recommend this company

Found them after horrid experience with zenni optical.
So 39 currently has a promo code of PREZ20 for President's Day 20% or $20.
Before you add the coupon, it is free shipping, after adding the coupon, you're paying $25 shipping.
What a scam of a coupon.

Where do you report this kind of fraud?
Probably bought 10+ glasses from them, from back when their URL was 39dollargoggles.com
Referred many people.
All good things come to an end, it seems.
Anybody know a better site to buy from?

I mainly wear contact and needed a cheap pair as a backup. Ordering from 39dollarglasses.com was super easy and I received my frames within a week. The frames are cheaply made Chinese products which I'm sure will not last very long for those wearing them regularly. I seldom put on my glasses so I don't mind too much and I REALLY like the $39+shipping price tag.

As most of the reviews seem to go on here I'm another unsatisfied customer. This is the 7th business day for me, and from what the website says 95% of people are shipped their glasses within 2-7 business days. Since I have no glasses to review, this 1 star is simply for the customer service aspect of the company. My first encounter was on the 5th business day where I waited over 20 mins to get a response from their online chat. I received no response from that, so I called up the direct line. The lady on the other end was pleasant to talk to although she could tell me nothing more than they are being assembled. The 7th business day arrives and now I decided to skip the chat and go straight to the phone. The lady is once again nice to talk with although I'm disappointed to find out that one pair of my glasses are good to go, and the second pair are awaiting final inspection. I asked if they could split up my packages perhaps, since my 2nd pair of frames might not be ready today, the 7th business day. The lady on the phone said there would be an additional charge for that... I paid for next day air, and I still won't be receiving my glasses until possibly 9 to 10 business days out. Hopefully, the glasses will be in good shape despite what some users of this site have experienced. It's all about how you treat the customer no matter how inexpensive the glasses may be. It's too bad the company didn't want to try to get my glasses out to me as quickly as they could, even if that meant them having to eat the price of delivery on the second pair of glasses. I guess my business and the business of people I know aren't that important to them.

I sent in frames I purchased abroad to be re-lensed. 3 weeks after sending them in, I received an email saying they destroyed my frames. The company refused to pay for these hard to find frames and instead send me replacement ones. The replacements arrived and wouldn't sit evenly on my face because they were clearly very cheap and unevenly molded.

Needless to say I sent them back. Now the company has the audacity to not reimburse me for the original frames they destroyed. Their products are cheap and inferior and their customer service is horrible. I recommend you run far away from 39 dollar glasses.
