I love Writing.Com. There are so many ways to express my love of writing. And every day there are new activities to inspire me. I am so grateful to have found a site like this. With that said, the site is a bit daunting for newcomers. However, the tools and features are well worth learning. Customer service is great and there are resources such as articles and forums for developing one's own writing style.
I would not suggest this. You see, this site is, basically, a pay to use site. Most of the admins aren't particularly nice. It's quite restrictive and one is isn't allowed to post more than ten things unless you pay. I didn't stay there long. In short, there are other writing websites, worth your time.

I love to write, but my crochet business has kept me pretty busy. I hope to get back to my writing soon. WDC has been great and the members are so encouraging and helpful. I never thought I could write anything, but entering contests and receiving honest reviews from fellow authors was just what I needed. I hope to be back soon.

This is a writing site and they sometimes sell items with their logo.
I've been homeless many times, and had to throw away my writing because I only had physical copies of it. Now that I have a membership at Writing.com, I can store my writing as I work on it, and if I move, I don't have to worry about carrying physical copies of my work with me.
The staff are helpful, I've been a member off and on since 2000. It's a real community, with people who are creating stories and sharing their work and their positivity.

There are also many ways to interact with other members, readers, writers. Get reviews and ratings for your work or rate and review others, take part in competitions or forums or review clubs and so much more.
Membership can be free or there are several, affordable paid memberships which offer a lot.
I can't imagine my life without WDC. It's home for me.
The writing.com site is a place where all manner of aspiring and published authors can practice the craft of writing. There are contests, newsfeed, blogs, prompts, forums where like-minded people come together to learn about writing, and to socialize. Indeed, if you are just wanting to read some great material, writing.com is the site for you! Reviews and encouraged. The site is extremely member-driven and not micro-managed. The best user experience can be found with an Upgraded membership level, which is very affordable, but you can join for free and see if you like it. Many people will help, you have only to ask. Many of us have been there for years, and one thing WdC definitely ISN'T is boring--you will always have an almost overwhelming amount of things to write about, join, read, and enjoy. Creativity at its best, and I consider it my online home. Enjoy!
I love Writing.com, the quality of the products, and the super service. The writers on writing.com are a fantastic group of people.

Thank you very much, Mike!
I have wanted to improve my writing skills. I checked out some online classes, etc. I came across Writing.com by chance while searching for online resources. It is a very helpful site. You can get good quality, constructive reviews of your work. There are many helpful resources. Many are free. The members made me feel like a part of the community from the start. I would recommend Writing.com for anyone who wants to write, and also for people who just want to read some very good work.
Thank you, Joe!
As a member since 2000, I can tell you that not only has this site helped me grow as a writer; it has also become a second home. First, I want to clear up a misconception. I've seen other reviews bashing the membership aspect, but I don't think those users understood the concept. Membership is free. Yes, you can purchase different levels for extra features. But at $10 for 3 months (or 1 year for $20), a basic membership is pretty darn affordable. We also have a couple of angel groups that can help out with the cost for those that need a little help. Not to mention the contests with memberships as prizes. I personally won a 1-year Premium membership. Twice.
Whether you enjoy writing for the fun of it, are looking to polish your skills before publishing, or just looking for something to read, I encourage you to give it a chance. In my 20 years, I've come across one unfriendly user. That's it. Our members and staff are always welcoming. There is literally something for everyone.
Thank you very much, Krista!
If you're looking to improve your writing skills, network with fellow authors, read new & interesting stories & poetry, or just share your work with your peers, this is the place for you.
Getting started takes minutes, and is incredibly easy.
On my first night, I'd uploaded three stories and received six incredibly helpful reviews.
A wonderfully supportive community, an easily navigated site containing a plethora of useful tools; the most constructive environment online for aspiring writers
I can't recommend this site enough!
Thank you very much!:-)
Professional work and finish before the deadline. Very happy and satisfied. I will order it again and tell someone else to use their services.
I have never seen such a great arrangement of writers and customer service all at once. Before I had the good fortune to come across writing.com, I have always felt either the lack of good writers or the lack of good customer service. They undoubtedly bridge this gap for me.
Thanks for your kind words!:-)
This site has provide a vibrant and continuous flow of ideas, prompts, suggestion and opportunities for writers both young and old to critique each other. Gain exposure by sharing works. It's a natural beta reader site, as anyone can post, receive reviews and experience how their work will be received.
Thanks! We appreciate your kind words.:-)
Writin.com is one of the best site I've ever come across and undoubtedly one on the best sites writing sites out there. Really friendly community, fair critiques, and so many aspiring stories make it an awesome place! You might think it's boring, because its just a writing site, but there are so many things to do: writing and non-writing tasks- that it's really addicting. You MUST check it out, even if you ain't an aspiring writer. It's the closest thing to an ideal world in my view.
Thank you, Moksha!
In the eleven years I've been a paying member of Writing.com, I have progressed from a novice just figuring out how to write stories and poems to a traditionally published author. The site encourages support, critiques, and contests, and manages to be a safe place for self expression without allowing the kinds of a abusive behaviors that plague many social networks and communities.
Thank you very much!:-)
THE best writing site online. Great interaction with the community, and helpful critiques and feedback. Made some life-long friends there as well!
Thank you, Robin!
I have been a member of Writing.com for many years now and I love it. There is a choice of membership options and even the free membership allows more than other websites. Originally I came in just to read other people's writings, but now I write as well, along with reviewing and participating in a number of groups, activities and forums. There's always something to do and there is a real sense of community here. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone.
I have been a member for 7 years. As with any good site it continues to charge membership fees based on the level of support you need and to support the website. It is good site for learning how to improve your writing craft with supportive feedback from its members. The site also provide many reference materials to help with writing, editing and markets.
Thank you very much!:-)
Writing.com helped launch me into a writing career both in helpful reviews from other members and writing advice from other professionals in the field.
I've been a member of Writing Dot Com now for nearly a decade. My experience has been helpful, entertaining, and ultimately inspires me to keep reading and writing. I've entered contests, won a couple, been published in newsletters, offered many reviews to assist other writers, and had a blast all along. I strongly recommend this site to any aspiring writer, and even to people who are just looking for things to read and/or review!
I've been on writing.com for six or seven months and I absolutely love it. The community is engaging, people are kind, and opinions are respected, unless it's harmful to anyone. It's an incredible site for writers and I would absolutely recommend it.
Thank you, Miranda!
The site is a safe space for exploring your creativity and expanding your writing skills. There are members with diverse interests and there is a niche for everyone. It is a good place to find like-minded people even if your mind is like no other.
Thank you, Pamela!
I have been with writing.com a few years now, and I have to say it is the best writing site for choice as well as variety. Other sites such as fan fiction.net do not allow other writers to colab on interactives or campfire stories, where a group of writers follow the style of fill-in-the-blanks. The resulting interactive is amazing. Furthermore you can easily view what other works an author has done thanks to the briefcase portfolio icon.
All in all its a great site for anyone looking to start writing.
Tip for consumers:
Consider buying a basic membership to decrease the chances that you will be unable to view an interactive due to high server volume for free members and guests.
Joining Writing.Com this past year has truly jump-started my writing! I now write daily, enter contests, get and give reviews, receive feedback, increase confidence due to contest successes, network, and much more! As the helpful and inspiring site celebrates its impressive eighteen birthday/anniversary, I created a list of 18 of the many ways it encourages writers and has benefited me:
18) So many writing resources provided
17) Great advice from reviews
16) Opportunities to grow as a writer by reading others' work more frequently
15) Opportunities to grow as a writer by giving detailed reviews of others' work
14) Practice in brevity, which I need desperately, in flash fiction contests
13) Practice in 'showing' more than 'telling' through newsletters and contests such as "The Taboo Words Contest"
12) Connecting with other retired teachers who are also using their additional available time to pursue their writing interests
11) Newsletters (and archives) related to Short Stories
10) Newsletters (and archives) related to Mystery writing
9) WdC makes an exerted effort to reach out to "Newbies"... this has made a big difference in my first year here
8) I have been motivated to try different genres (and even got a first place in one contest after this risk-taking!)
7) Builds confidence
6) Gets otherwise isolated writers out of their vacuum
5) SO many opportunities in so many contests!
4) Newsletters (and archives) related to Poetry
3) Encourages us all to thank others, show appreciation, award and highlight great works, and to pass on that encouragement
2) WDC provides links to other resources such as Writer's Digest, outside contests, publishing, tips, and much more!
1) Inspires me, finally, to write every day!
The website is easy and quite easy to understand. Anyone can easily understand what isposted there. Perfect choice
Thank you, Judy!
