Our troubles started when my brother was alive but terminally ill and trying to simply change his beneficiary. First trip into the bank they needed his wife's death certificate and we would be good to go. We returned with the death certificate, now they needed a Texas Drivers. We moved him here from Minnesota when he got sick 3 months before. He had 3 forms of legal picture id's and they would except none. The manager was rude enough to say, just go get a Texas Driver's license. He couldn't even stand up on his own. He passed away 2 weeks later. We probated his will and I returned with his death certificate, will and Letter Testamentary from the court. I was there over 3 hours because, "oh there is a special department that can only handle this." That department had the WF Banker on hold for 2 hours. At the end, no check, no closing of the account and I couldn't stay any longer. Then I get a letter in the mail saying they couldn't close the account. Next day I get a bank statement showing they took ALL of his money out of the account with notation "Payoff Debit". What the heck is that? He had no loans, no automatic deductions. This was December 22nd. It is a month later, no check, no funds showing in his account and the banker can't get anyone in the department that "handles this" to even get answers. Next step legal action. It is unconscionable at best.
I am a care taker for a wounded vet. My care left his wallet at a gas station so we called customer services as soon as we got back The wonderful woman's name is Arnie she was attentive she spoke clearly and helped my charge with canceling his card so his anxiety would be at ease thank you Arnie you're the best! Hopefully your superiors see this and give you a raise! There should be more people like you at the bank! Have a wonderful day!
Sincerely Grateful,
Dawn R. Perkins

WF fraud detection recently disabled my account after I scheduled an online payment to a credit card. They found it suspicious and made me go into a branch to prove my identify. I've had accounts with them for 15 years! Unbelievable. They are terrible.
April 2021, I was scammed by who I thought was my utility company. I was asked to submit a $498 payment, via ZELLE, to ensure my late payment was not submitted to collections. Within a minute of pressing send I realized I was being duped. I immediately hung up and called Wells Fargo to request the payment be canceled or refunded. At the time, WF was unable to assist me with more than just taking down the information I had available of the scammers. Everyone I spoke with was polite and helpful but a refund was not possible. Fast forward 2 years. Today I received a letter stating they reevaluated my Zelle complaint and determined a refund was warranted. Not only was the full amount refunded, but they included interest! I was blown away that WF prompted this review and refund on their own accord. This is called business integrity. This is, in part, why I continue to bank with WF.
My experience with Wells Fargo has been horrendous. Due to my late father and late grandfathers passing I have needed to transfer their funds in Wells Fargo to myself the beneficiary. It took 3 years to complete this process with my grandfather due to becoming so frustrated I quite for a year. My father's I've been working on for the last 4 months and have been tossed around to so many incompetent representatives that I now have 6 incorrectly made accounts and am STILL working through this. I can say from experience working with other investment companies that this is not normal. I have been to the notary more than 5 times and everything I was asked to notarize and send in was not needed. This has been an extreme waste of my valuable time and I could not be more displeased and frustrated with Wells Fargo service. My feedback is to train your employees not just in their own department but in others as well so that clients will not be transferred so much and so that representatives can have a clue as to the overall procedures needed to take place such as correct paperwork needed, correct account setup, etc… And even when I worked with a certain department I was led astray by their lack of training or know how. PLEASE train your employees. I would much rather wait on hold then immediately get someone who leads me on a rabbit chase. Previous to this experience I had been considering investing my somewhat large inheritance with Wells Fargo. I can confidently say that I will never use Wells Fargo and will encourage family and friends to not use Wells Fargo as well. I would not wish my experience on anyone especially when dealing with grief and loss as I have. I have never left a review on any platform but my experience with Wells Fargo has been so outstandingly horrible that I felt a need to voice my experience.
I wouldn't advise anyone to use Wells Fargo bank. Been a customer for over 40 years, but will be changing soon. First, they questioned my husband's signature on a check, then they put a hold on it for 7 business days. No justifiable reason for any of it.
Changes to Wells Fargo payment authentication makes using a "Non-Wells Fargo" account to pay auto loans, difficult, unwieldy and a darn nuisance. Can't wait for it to be done.
I Suggest you go to any other financial institution. This bank is a bunch of robbers. I put my truck payment in my account on 12/26/22; they took it upon themselves to take $76.99 out of my account two different times under a different name saying it was their money which made it so I didn't have my vehicle payment never sent me a warning an email I text nothing and then claimed it was from over a year ago where I had made a complaint about an investigation against a company and they're trying to say that it was the company's fault not theirs and would not give the money back therefore, I got all my money back and closed my accounts. I told them this is why they have lawsuits all over and they continue to close their branches.
They posted a social security check early and they Always DD but this time right before Christmas they said SS hit five days 5 days early, and when I called the regular date SS said posted Again, I called the bank to make sure. The bank agent said we were overdrawn by over 800.09! So I have never found the deposit for the 17 the and they finally said our account wasn't negative. Then they said blamed social security saying they do not direct deposit. This is simply untrue, as when it was set up my SS worker set it up five years ago direct deposit and it's always hit direct deposit! 3 rd wed of BD! And they said they received five days early, and again yesterday. They I guess I need another bank as messing with an older person's widow benefits is really really low.
They're also as I just checked again now saying my cable bill is recurring and I didn't ever set that up and spectrum agrees with me?
I have tried at least now 6 times to reach an employee at Wells Fargo in the exception payments department to close my account. I provided the necessary notarized document already on Oct.24th, 2022 and my account is still not closed and no one to reach to solve this issue. How hard can it be to close an account? I have been a customer for 25 years! I would have given zero stars if possible.
Very shady practices. I would definitely recommend not doing business with them. I needed a new oven. The agreement is, 0% interest if paid off within a year. 4 months later I needed a new refrigerator. I was making over the minimum payment (sometimes double) every month. Turns out they were splitting the payments between the two purchases and tried to charge me the back interest. Luckily I was able to pay it all off before the deadline. I asked them why they didn't put the payments toward the first purchase other than trying to screw people. They just said that's how Wells Fargo does it.
Wells Fargo consistently lies and defrauds customers with respect to their accounts. It's a shame the DOJ refuses to prosecute these criminals for blatant violations of Title 18 of the U.S. Code. Their customer service is abysmal and they make no effort to follow the law. They blatantly ignore regulations and use unfair leverage to commit wire fraud by making demands of customers outside the scope their contract.
My boyfriend signed and notarized a power of attorney for me to take care of his affairs while he can't at the moment. I took the notarized power of attorney to the branch location and they said that they couldn't authorize the power of attorney because I'm a risk… I called the executive office to Wells Fargo and they said they would look into it because the 20 different people I spoke with prior to couldn't provide me a reason as to why I was a "risk" my boyfriend had thousands of dollars of fraudulent transactions on his account that Wells Fargo I guess decided weren't suspicious activity and allowed it to go on from September 2022 to December 2022 until his money was gone and now negative $611 dollars. The executive office took about 10 days to contact me and still tell me they were denying me power of attorney because of a risk… but still can't tell me why… when years ago, they had employees committing fraud themselves and have the nerve to say I'm a risk and basically taking all his hard earned money. I wouldn't suggest banking with Wells Fargo at all.
Wells Fargo is the worst bank in America. I can't wait till my lawyers get finished with them. Watch y'all account their system is so easy to hack.
Let me start off by saying, that I have been a customer with Wells Fargo Bank for over 10 years and as of lately I have never had a problem with Wells fargo. They have always fixed my problem, they have always worked with me on anything that's come up, and I appreciate them very much. But as of lately I have an issue with trying to scroll down online and see my transactions because you only see half the page and you can not even halfway see that when you scroll down. Other than that there's never really been an issue as long as I've been with Wells Fargo. So could we please get somebody from Wells Fargo to fix this issue because we'd like to have a full page of our transactions to be able to see everything, and it probably would be very bad with people that can barely see anyway! I'm sure that that would help them out a lot because I know that I have eye problems for my diabetes, so I understand the problem not being able to see but if someone could just fix the issues and everything would be perfect. Thank you Wells Fargo.
Customer service sucks. They ask questions and talk over you when you're answering and then ask the same questions again a few minutes later. If you'd stfu you'll have the answers and not waste our time asking redundant questions.
If you want to open business account with Wells Fargo Do not use their business credit card clover because they want all your information including your social, TaxID, account number, phone number.now my business checking account got hacked, They can let someone use my business checking account money transfer out to other bank without let me know. It's so scary. Hope Wells Fargo will give me back all this money now my bank almost cost $0
I am a trans woman to occasionally travels for business. 3.5 years ago, I got WF to use my initials on my debit card instead of my first (male) name. This way, when I presented as female, I wouldn't get denied service or called names. Now, WF is not allowing me to use just my initials and last name on my debit card. A Mr. Ronald Southworth told me this is so WF can be in "compliance with the Patriot Act," which sort of doesn't make sense since other banks allow the use of initials or "preferred" name for transgender customers. Transgender customers will be negatively impacted by this change; it is an impact that WF either knows or should know will happen.
This bank could be a great bank if they didn't steal from you.
My account was below $500 for not even a week ($480) and they charged my account $10. When I called to refund that because of how ridiculous that was, they told me no because they have refunded $155 into my account in the last 12 months. Uh WHAT!?
Those refunded charges wasn't even my fault but a company that took out a double payment! This bank is garbage.
I have been with this bank for over 20 years, they are the worst, they don't even work with ppl to give them a chance with a secured credit cards, they are the worst bank ever, Capital One, Discover, Chanse, First Premier, Bank of America all gave me a credit card starting at $1000.00 and $6000.00 and I don't even bank with them, the only reason I stay with WF it's because I have had them for a long time and it shows good on my credit history, otherwise they suck and very poor customer service.
