Webuyanyphone.com has given me one of the worst, if not the worst, customer service experiences in my lifetime. I could not advise you to AVOID them strongly enough.
As others have said, they offer an inflated price for your phone. In my case, I sent an iPhone 12 Pro Max which was in pristine condition and had been covered in an xtremeskins skin, with tempered glass screen protector.
After waiting 5 days, they offered a revised price - £180 less than the offer they made originally for a 'good' condition, saying it 'just' missed out and was graded 'average'. I believe this is fraudulent - deliberately under-grading to avoid full payment.
Here's the biggest problem - if you don't decline this offer within 7 days, they automatically take it.
HOWEVER, to decline their offer is near impossible.
They offer live chat or telephone service during limited working hours only. I spent 30minutes on the telephone trying to get through; live chat continually timed out after 30minutes, despite saying it would be less than 10minutes.
In the end, I selected complaint - and threatened legal action. Someone eventually got back to me. Immediately, I was offered an extra £60 on my offer - no questions asked.
So not only are they scamming customers by offering initial quotes that they have no intention to pay, they deliberately offer far under what they would actually pay if you just asked them for more. This clearly is fraudulent behaviour.
This is outrageous. If I could, I would request a Freedom of Information investigation into just how many full-price quotations they actually pay - I bet it's not many.
I opted to receive my iPhone back and made a complaint, to which I just received a standard copy and paste reply: "I am sincerely sorry to read your comments. I would like to confirm and reassure you that all devices received are carefully removed from all packaging and placed into protective air cushioned bags prior to testing and every care is taken to make 100% sure the device is fully protected by protective surfaces when being assessed by the Quality Assurance Team. All devices are tested in the condition they are received."
All in all - they are absolutely outrageous, with abhorrent customer service, deliberately scamming customers.
Avoid - go to CeX instead and get a visual grading from someone in person, they actually pay what they say they will.

I always used O2, but, looking at compare sites, webuyanyphone came out on top. So I sent my iPhone 7, which I believed was in excellent condition as it always had a cover. It arrived there the next day and I got a response advising that it had a blemish on the bezel and a slight scratch on the screen, so there would be deduction of a little money. I accepted this and the payment was supposed to be made the same day. That was on Tuesday. It wasn't paid into my account, but would be on Wednesday. It wasn't paid into my account on Wednesday, but they confirmed that it would be by midnight on Thursday!
Here I am, on Friday morning, still no payment! I contacted them again this morning and they have said that payment was made yesterday and that the money would be in my bank by midnight today, this is now because some banks may take an additional 24 hours, so it would be in my bank by midnight tonight. That will be the 4th day as opposed to SAME DAY! This is poor. Never had this issue with O2. My own fault for changing. Never again.
Saturday 23rd Dec,
DAY 5, with webuyanyphone having told me again that the money will be with me by midnight last night, and the money STILL has it been paid. I now need t make other arrangements to do my Christmas shopping as they have ruined my week, given it is now Saturday 23rd!
I have no choice but to take this duplicitous business to small claims court.
Lots of people will get phones for Christmas and will want to sell their existing devices. My advice...
IF YOU DONT WANT THIS AGGRAVATION, AND DO WANT YOUR MONEY AS ADVERTISED, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
27th Dec - Day 9
Still no not been paid. Still no money in my account. Checked with my bank in case I was being harsh. Confirmed. Advised that if they say theyve paid it, then the problem would be with their bank.
29th Dec - Day 11. Still not received my money.
If anyone is seriously considering using this website DO NOT!
The start of my journey with Webuyanyphone.com was a promising one, the website is well designed and when looking on trustpilot.com there was a good score of 8/10. I have now come to realise that this is a fraudulent score.
I initiated the selling process on the 23rd of February 2017, my post-pack was then delivered after a few days so all was well.
Then after waiting 12 days I was beginning to become impatient and curious as to the progress of my order, so I contacted WeBuy on the 8th of March to which they responded.
"Your handset will be returned back to you free of charge.
New laws have come into place where we cannot accept no powered handsets due to data protection."
So a little disappointed I waited for the mobile to be sent back to me, after another 12 days I had not received my phone and again decided to contact WeBuy to which I received this response.
"I am a little confused here. Do you have another order with us?
This email may have been sent to another order number or in error as the Samsung S6 on this order number is still with the engineers waiting to be booked in and tested."
So it seems that they were just using stalling tactics to avoid making payment, but they were responding so at least there was a glimmer of hope I might receive my payment.
Again after this happened I continued to wait, then on the 31st of March I contacted WeBuy again to receive this response on the 3rd of April.
"We are experiencing a high volume of phones at the moment but I have asked the engineers to pull your device out and get it tested as soon as possible.
They will be in touch with you shortly."
Then following on from this I received 3 e-mails in quick succession, the subjects of which being:
'Your order has been received'
'Your device is being tested'
'Your device passed testing'
I found this a little strange as they were all sent within 10 minutes of each other.
On the last e-mail which stated my device had passed the 10-stage testing process I was told to expect payment by midnight that day (3rd of April) as is promised on the website.
It is now the 11th of April I have sent several e-mails to WeBuy with no response as of yet, also I have tried the freephone number numerous times to be met by a blank dial tone.
I hope I can prevent this fraudulent website stealing money from anyone else out there.
Please do not ever use WeBuyAnyPhone.com
