Fits as promised
April 27, 2022

I only write reviews if my experience with a company was either extremely good or extremely bad. Some background: I am 5'6" and 115 pounds, so "floppy", "sloppy", "big", and "large" aren't words that describe anything about my physical characteristics. I'm also 47 years old and a 32A, which is an uncommon size to find in stores in my preferred price range (um, cheap, like under $20). I only wear a bra because polite society expects me not to reveal how cold I am at work. For 30 years I have been trying to shop in the juniors' department, disgusted at the ridiculous amounts of padding and push ups that bra manufacturers want to outfit teens with. It's like they think women can't be confident unless they're grotesquely deformed like Stormy Daniels (I'm also grateful my kids are boys so I don't have to fight the fashion industry to avoid raising narcissistic hobags). Occasionally I find a lightly lined Warners 34A that kind of fits, and that's how I've been living.

Then Pepper came across my browser and I clicked on it. While I didn't love the price (see also: I only wear a bra because I'm supposed to), I noticed the way the bras appeared to fit the models and that the website shows you someone your size wearing your size since there's no fitting room for online purchases. This was very helpful, as was the size calculator. I struggled with the price until my husband reminded me "you're a growna$$ professional woman and should wear clothes that fit." So I ordered the classic All You and the tee-shirt bra, both in my skin tone. The first time I ordered the wrong size. I was dreading the return process because I have been spoiled by Amazon's easy nature. Turns out, the return/exchange process was exactly as easy as Amazon's. You just print out the new label and drop the box off wherever you see a mail truck. The exchange size, the right size, arrived today, ahead of schedule and with zero hassle. I tried them on and am absolutely in love with this product. The bras have a light lining to keep temperature fluctuations a private matter; the band doesn't gap under my arms or anywhere around my ribs, and there is no big space between me and the fabric. They feel like your most comfortable sports bra, except they don't squash your breasts flat. The underwire seems more for keeping the shape of the cups than for support, which, let's face it, I don't need anyway. The wire doesn't poke or stick out beyond the distance of me (that's an embarrassing side effect of wearing a size too big that I know for like 30 years now). I dress very modestly and there is no scenario where I would post a topless picture of me on the internet, but this bra is truly perfect. I will be ordering another bra or two from Pepper because I need to get a black one so I can finish throwing away the bras I owned before I met Pepper. I will never buy a bra from anyone else again.
There was one less than positive thing I have to say, and that is I had a very hard time finding how/where to write a review for them. Seems if you don't have social media they don't really want your business.

Tip for consumers:

It would have been helpful to know that this site expects you to have social media accounts and know how to capture pictures of proof of purchase emails.

Shipping to Canada bad!
February 27, 2022

My first experience with Pepper bra shopping from Canada actually went well. I ordered, it shipped and arrived in 2 to 3 weeks. I liked the fit and decided to try a different style. The ones I got had removable padding, which doesn't stay in place very well and they are not smooth under t-shirts. I hoped that a different style would be better. And thus began the saga...
I ordered on Oct 22. As before, I got shipping notice the next day and expected delivery in a few weeks. Given the situation with Covid and the holiday season ramping up, I allowed a few extra weeks. After about 4 weeks, when the shipping information simply said "in transit to destination country" I emailed the company. They said to give it another week, the shipping information was updated just that day (they seemed to have no clue as to how the shipping site worked. Anytime you logged in, the date and time automatically changed to the current date and time with whatever the latest tracking was. And they kept telling me to check with the shipper... who kept telling me to check with the merchant...!)
So another week or so goes by and still no change to shipping status. I reach out again and they say they'll send a replacement. I got shipping notice of that shipment. 3 weeks later the tracking number for that just disappears. The DHL website says the tracking number can't be found. WTF?! I emailed Pepper once again, and they try to tell me it's a different tracking number and not to worry, the package is still on the way? We're closing in on Christmas by now and the original order still says "in transit to destination country". I decide I am too aggravated with these guys so leave it alone until the end of December. Sometime in the first week of January I write again. Neither order has shown up, it's now over 2 months since the original one was sent, the replacement has disappeared and I'm done. (oh, and I keep getting emails asking me to review my new bras... to which I respond that I'd love to review them, if I'd actually ever received them!) They offer to send yet another replacement and I say no, I've had enough, I want a refund. They refund the cost of the bras, but not shipping, tax, duty, saying it's their policy that this is not refundable. Once again, WTF? I have to pay this for items I NEVER received?! How is that ok? Or even legal? I write back and to their credit, they refund the rest, with a note that it was a "one time curtesy". You can bet it is "one time" because I will NEVER order from them again! I understand shipping difficulties at the best of times and allowed extra patience for that. But they didn't seem to get why I was frustrated with the tracking information, nor did they seem to know what pervious communication had occurred (and I always replied with the string of previous emails to keep everything in chronological order). There was no explanation for the replacement order that simply disappeared. The whole experience was aggravating and demonstrated the worst customer service I've received from any business. So incredibly disappointing.
It's also worth noting that tracking for the order from October 23rd still shows as "en route" by DHL tracking. Over FOUR months later! Perhaps they've strapped the package to the back of a turtle and it's making its way here? Or it landed with the sloth shipping team?

Tip for consumers:

Don't bother if shipping to Canada
