Overall, the prevailing sentiment reflects dissatisfaction, with calls for improved customer support and accountability in handling orders and returns.

I have discovered that prices on Amazon and other online stores are 30% to 40% or more lower than Wayfair. With my first and only problem to-date with Wayfair, that opened my eyes, Customer Service put me on hold to resolve a partial order to ask a manager for permission to ship missing items. The manager said I had to return the items I received in the partial order, and Wayfair would ship me the entire order again. They said if I didn't do so, I would forfeit the missing items (not refund). Whereas Amazon allows returns and exchanges for missing items. I decided it would be cheaper to buy the same items on Amazon Prime for 67% less (with free overnight), and feel Wayfair ripped me off by refusing to refund the unshipped merchandise. I can never in good conscience support this company with my business again. As a so-called "apology", Wayfair sent me a 10%-off coupon for more of their merchandise! The phraseology of the email made it sound like for all they cared, I could shove this coupon for their obscenely overpriced merchandise up my, well, you know the rest of the sentence.
I bought a furniture from Wayfair and bought protection plan with square trade. My furniture broke and I filed a claim. It was approved and I was told I will receive gift card from them. My nightmare started right after. They send me email with gift card which I could not open. Anyways, I emailed them numerous times for over a month and called them multiple times to resolve this issue. Nothing happened. I also had Wayfair representative on the line when I spoke to Squaretrade. They kept saying that gift card was issued and cashed. We asked them to provide the email address it was sent to and proof that it was cashed. At first they said they will provide the information and then sent me an email rejetcing my claim. I would not have paid extra money to buy this protection plan if I knew I would be scammed. Stay away from this company.
Don't buy any thing on wayfair, i bought a chair thourgh their website, that said " guine leather " but when i received it's not what it said, just a bonded vinyl, plus i was damaged with a small holes on the seat. It is the worst uncomfortable chair,... they refused to refund., don't buy any thing from them...
They don't let you cancel. If you return you pay more then 190 to return. Never again will I buy through this website
I ordered an adjustable height desk. Paid $200+ for it and received 1 barstool in the box. I called Wayfair and they will not replace the item even though it is available on their website, was told that was from a different supplier. I did purchase an open box item so was told they were making an exception so I could return the stool. So I guess without that I would be paying $200 for a cheap stool. I expected a scratch or dent but not a totally different item.
Now I have to wait for FedEx to come get the box and Wayfair to receive it back before they refund me...I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get my money back.
Don't buy if you expect them to honor what you purchased.
Purchased a child's bed from them. Broken pieces and wood filled with wood glue. Our starter in tears excited for her bed begged to have it put together in her new room in our new home. The bed assembled was unstable and wobbly even for a very small 7 year old. Called to resolve the issue and receive a refund on my way to purchase a new bed at a furniture store. They said even with pictures I needed to return the damaged bed. I told them to come over to disassemble the junk or I could send it back in pieces. They sent me to the resolution center and someone named Madison. Took awhile for her to contact me over a week and then gave me limited time, two days to respond before stating time expired. Unbelievable! Never EVER again. Not worth it. I've done my research and trust me, you can find more quality items at better price with better customer service almost anywhere else!
I saw a couple of tables I liked on Wayfair. As I had not used their site before I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately the tables didn't work out. Unlike Amazon, Wayfair does not have free return shipping. Bummer. Won't be shopping Wayfair in the future.
This company is deceptive in its pricing and covers up mistakes with lies. I ordered a mattress at a great deal. The next day they canceled my order and sent an email stating it was at my request. I had not asked for it to be canceled. I got online and saw the item was still in stock but not 3xs higher in price. I contacted customer service and they stated that it was due to a pricing error and they had noted that in correspondence with me. I told them that was not true and provided a copy of the email. I asked them to honor their advertised price. They said often times there are glitches that impact descriptions or changes that are not made. I told them respectable businesses honor their pricing errors and correct them for future purchases. This was the first and last time I try to buy through this site.
I've ordered from Wayfair on several occasions and have had good success. Last year I purchaesd a Pergola and I need to replace the Canapy (somehow it split during a rainy day). The purchase is not even a year old. I called and was told that I have to purchase a new one (Canopy/no warranty). The young lady suggested a replacement based on the Model/Style - Sunjoy. I recieved the Canopy and it didn't fit. I am returning it and have to pay for the return shipping which comes out of the purchase price of the replacement Canopy. This isn't right you send me the product it's not right and I have to pay for the return. On my second call the young man said that you have to be careful buying outdoor furniture... because there are no real replacement parts from the manufacture although they state it in the product box i.e. The instructions. Not happy with Wayfair and this has prompted me to question my next purchase with them.
If we were to judge companies by marketing, Wayfair will be #1. Unfortunately buying a wayfair product without assembly services is useless, the products are Ikea clones without engineering, consistency or quality control. Only Wayfair can assemble their products.
Unless it's fully assembled, do not buy. Site description is as useful as esop fables are for medical diagnostic.
I had ordered 17 boxes of 18x18 travertine tile on 3-31-23. I was told on the online tracker it would be here 4-17-23. I called and spoke to Erica on the phone on 4-13-23 that it was in Durham NC and would be picked up that night or the next day and arrive at my location on 4-17-23. I gave my floor installer 1000 dollars to hold my spot. OK the next day I call a senior executive manager, Betty, that tells me the tile will arrive on the 20th of April. My tile professional then gets upset and tells me he'll have to 1000 dollars more to pay his employees. This is almost 5000 dollars worth of tile I can't have just anybody lay this tilework here's the real kill WAYFAIR HAS LOST MY TILE AND HAD TO REORDER IT! NOW, IT WON'T BE HERE UNTIL THE 5TH OF MAY. My tile guy stated sorry is not going to be able to wait and he can't do the job. I'M OUT OF 2000 DOLLARS AND I'M TRYING TO SELL MY HOUSE. THERE IS AN OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEKEND! Wayfair and the shipping is free because they never ship!I want to be reimbursed the 2000 dollars I have put out. I'm going to talk to a lawyer Monday!
No in-between. They will either send you a new item and tell you to throw out the item you are unsatisfied with, or they will tell you to jump off of a bridge. I have a sectional sofa for four years that all of a sudden has the "kiln dried hardwood frame" pieces started to split. The sofa is rated for 900 lbs, and I weigh 100 lbs and rarely have anyone else sit on the sofa besides me and my 30 lb Frenchie. I have repeatedly tried to get the manufacturer info from Wayfair to reach out to them for some assistance on this obviously faulty item, but Wayfair refuses to provide any info and has, at times, been condescending and downright rude about it telling me that the sofa is four years old so I have to buy a new sofa. Really? I don't weigh enough to break a kiln dried wood frame! And the sofa hasn't been dropped from a third story window, because I haven't moved. It is incorrigible how bad their customer service can be.
We ordered a sofa online approximately 2 1/2 years ago. We waited a year for the delivery. It was shipped but somehow got lost. At that time, we were told that the credit card given did not approve the transaction. We figured it was an issue with the card and changed to another card. We waited another year for the sofa to be delivered. We finally got it in October 2022. Yesterday (4/12/23), I got an email that we had an outstanding balance. We let customer service know that the payment should have been taken when the sofa was shipped and that it wasn't our fault that Wayfair did not take the payment. Apparently, their system kept trying to charge both cards. When we insisted that this was not our fault or issue, he kept saying for us to pay today or that they would send us to collections. I asked to speak to a supervisor who apologized but said the same thing. We paid online through the website with a credit card. I'm sure that the same issue with their system will occur. This time I kept the email stating that our balance is cleared. If their system kicks out the transaction again, that's going to be on Wayfair. I have the email now so I can dispute it if they send us to collections. Be very careful when ordering from Wayfair.
Do not purchase anything from Wayfair. Not only do they charge to return products even when it is their issue, but the cost to return is overpriced so they can make profits. Stick with more reputable companies like Amazon or those who still have brick and mortar stores, who offer free returns.
I will not be buying from Wayfair again. Over the last year, mostly around the same time (bought a new house) we have purchased the following items from Wayfair- A sofa, dining table, bar stools, coffee table, entertainment center, crib and dresser, 2 changing tables and 2 comforter sets, computer desk/hutch (beyond a year ago but ill add it).there may be more but that's what I can think of. Out of all of these items.the only items so far that has held up is the entertainment center and the crib. The 900.00 computer desk, crap.scratched at the lightest touch, doors falling off, keyboard tray broken. 2k dining table is garbage- chips in the flimsy supposed real wood, legs constantly breaking off chairs, warped end just from 1 year of use. 150.00 a piece Bar stools- heavy but garbage- legs falling off, cross bars breaking. 150.00 Coffee table, meh...legs bending, top super easily scratched. The 2k sofa...gosh the sofa, if I could burn it in the fire pit.I would, it's single handedly the worst I've ever owned or sat on, I literally hate it and make a point to sit in our movie room (which has a 10 year olf sofa that is insanely comfortable) for TV watching to avoid sitting on it. 200.00 Changing tables- should be recalled, can't tell you how many times my poor child has had a limb stuck under its poor design leaving her with bruises. 250.00 baby dresser- bottoms of drawers fall out with very light use. 150.00 comforter- washed once following directions and the entire underside looked like it had been bleach it was completely discolored...from laundry detergent! 500.00 Entertainment center- SO far no issues and while the 500.00 crib has been great, it's easily tippable which is a concern, especially since we've have 3 other children in cribs with no fear of tippage. Wayfair absolutely lacks quality control and they let complete garbage products be sold under their name. I can't get past the absolute greed they must have to allow these items to leave their warehouses.
Ordered a queen sized bed and paid the extra $100 or so for set up.
Added a PLASTIC storage bench for the pool area.
The professional sent from Angi for Wayfair shows up and starts to snap together the bench? I told him, no, the bed is in the other room. The bench he started on shows the box with NO TOOLS REQUIRED to assemble. I pointed that out and said, you wouldnt need to put that togther.
I call Wayfair and say, who would EVER purchase assemlbly for $100 on something like that? They kept telling me to read my confirmation emails. I explained to them the emails have no information on them and I couldn't open without creating and account by logging into Angi, no Thanks. Then they told me to call Angi who immediately went hard sale for me to PURCHASE the set up for the bed (which I swear I had done initially but cannot prove).
I am out $100. But its how this all happened that really irks me.
BBB report is next
I made several purchases from Wayfair and have never regretted anything so much until Wayfair took advantage of me. The merchandise is most likely seconds. I live on a small fixed income. I received shotty merchandise and important information was not available or withheld. Sofa in two boxes. Thrown on lawn in damaged shipments. Cabinet thst doesnt fit together properly. Ugly! No return calls for several months. Im elderly and confined to a wheelchair and also suffer from major health issues. Wayfair is not a US made company. I cannot get them to honor their sales. I have definately been exploited.
Ordered an item, scheduled a delivery, they couldn't make it. Rescheduled it for a week later. Again they couldn't make it. Cancelled the item, they said they will issue a refund minus $140 because of "delivery," which they never performed. Disgusting!
Wayfair sent me the wrong size curtains and told me they would give me a refund and that I can order the right size but NOT at the sale price. So, in essence, to correct their mistake will cost me more. I will not shop at wayfair ever again and I will tell everyone I know about their poor customer service.
Wayfair is doing business with a company named Sembell LLC which is a Distribution Warehouse company. They send the packages to people's private homes which are employees of Sembell. These employees have FLEAS and BED BUGS in their homes! I received a package and opened it and found BEDBUGS in my package! I immediately threw the package out, and demanded my money back!
Answer: Allison, Yes, the box that the floor lamp came in did have a picture of the lamp on it. I would ask when you order. I hope this helps. James.
Answer: No, they will take returns, but you pay fees. As for poor quality, I guess we just swallow it.
Answer: From my experience, this is company is to be avoided. Sounds like your life will be hectic enough for awhile so you don't need additional stress. Buy elsewhere is my advice.
Answer: Need to call Customer Service ( a/k/a Customer Disservice) about any issue. Expect to be disappointed, but they may honor it. Best to avoid Wayfair in the future.
Answer: Suggest calling Customer Service aka Customer disservice. A word of advice: buy elsewhere; anywhere else. This Co. Just does not care.
Answer: Obviously their mission to become popular has worked. They don't need to be a good company anymore. They will take the money and run. When the time is right, they will close up shop and reopen with a new name. It is hard to find a business with integrity anymore.
Answer: Stay away. They do not follow up to make things right concerning your order.
Answer: Call customer service (aka customer disservice). This company should be avoided. Deal with a reputable Co like Amazon or its partners, They care.
Answer: I wouldn't order anything big from Wayfair. I had to order the same product 3 times, and each time, the product was damaged. Wayfair rhymes with nightmare for a reason.
