Violated by Viabox- stay far far far away!
May 11, 2020

**Long post but you should read if you don't want to feel violated by this company**
I ordered a pet product online that would not ship to Canada. Signed up for Viabox- seemed legitimate. Was I wrong! 2 identical boxes, 8.9kg each, 24x25x33" in size- shipping from Portland to Ontario Canada- can you guess how much? Try 1400Canadian (1000US)!? Once I realized I had been had I tried to organize a return- guess what? Fedex was going to charge $500US to get it back to California. Frustrated and defeated- agreed to pay their extortionate rates- then guess what? They demanded 2 pieces of government photo ID and a letter signed by a NOTARY? WTF? I have bought items of far greater value online and not had to go through such hoops. Due to COVID they agreed to waive the notary signature. So I sent copies of my drivers license and health card, with the license number/health card number and birth dates redacted. I just had a bad feeling about this company and was not going to let them have personal information that could be used for identity theft. I am not a paranoid person- but something about my dealings with this company got my hackles up. They would not accept. By this time they were asking me to pay with BITCOIN (seriously?) to avoid having to submit unredacted documents. Wow! This outfit was seeming shadier by the minute.
In the end, my vendor ended up trying to help me by getting me a prepaid shipping label to get my parcel out of Viabox's warehouse (guess what? Their prepaid label from Viabox's warehouse in Portland to NY was $220 US). Wonder where the "savings" of mass shipping went with Viabox charging me over $1000US to get it from Portland to just over the border to Ontario. No duties or taxes were included in their rates either.
Anyway- I still don't have my parcel- at this point Viabox has refused to send along my parcel- they will only accept a prepaid shipping label paid for by the Vendor and refuse to send my parcel anywhere but back to the vendor. I even offered to pay them a handling fee just to get them to slap on the new label and ship off my item- nope.
So, I am back to square one. They still have my stuff.
Please. Stay away from these sharks. You are better off just opening your own FedEx/UPS account and creating your own label to send to the vendor instead of entrusting this useless third party to gouge you. There isn't any savings.
They don't have a phone number (you will never speak to a human) and want you to pay with a pseudo currency. They hold your parcel hostage.
Their operation should be illegal.
Worst experience EVER!

**the vendor Katris has been amazing btw.

Tip for consumers:

Don’t even think about using Viabox!!!!!!!!

Products used:

My product I ordered from a vendor in the US to ship to Canada through this “ship to” third party sensor is still being held hostage at Viabox in Portland

$#*!test company ever
July 4, 2018

For real, worst company ever. I'll never deal with em again. I just never seen anything like this before, my box was supposed to be shipped last week, a week later I go at livechat with the $#*! of Tyrus, then he just say me to do the same thing he said last week, this is the second week he says me to ''update the box'' but they are soo stupid they can't even add my box items, so I DON'T EVEN KNOW what is inside the box. They take 3 days to take a picture, 3 days to repack, 3 days to ''prepare the shipment'' that wont be done soon...

The $#*!TEST company ever.

Oh I forget to say, WHAT A EXPENSIVE COMPANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

( I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I'LL GET MY ITEMS)

The worst experience I've ever had. Stay away
November 11, 2015

I used Viabox shipment calculator using data from Amazon regarding the product I wanted, Epson Home Cinema 2040 (14.6 x 14.3 x 7.2 inches, 9 pounds to Israel, TNT Economy 3-5 business days) and found that it should cost me about $100 (11 pounds billable weight).

I ordered Epson Home Cinema 2040 from Amazon. It was received at Viabox ware house after 3 days. Amazon records show it was signed by WERTZWERTZ - which doesn't sound like a human being, more like gibberish. It took 2.5 days for the package to show in Viabox site. By this time I was very worried and thought maybe the package was somehow delivered to the wrong place. Note that I also used some other similar service (Buy2Usa). It took them less than an hour to update package arrival in their records.

After package arrived I needed to pay for it $147.72 USD about %50 more than the info Viabox provided (18 billable pounds, to Israel, TNT Economy 3-5 Business days). I didn't understand where the 7 extra pounds came from and I couldn't see any option to repackage (which Viabox claimed is free), so I bit the bullet and ordered. Next day Viabox site claimed package was dispatched (still does - it says "dispatched: 2015-10-31"), but the tracking number was not functioning (TNT site did not recognize the tracking number) and then Viabox site went down for about a week.

In this time it was impossible to get information.

Then when Viabox site came back up, tracking number was still not functioning. It took 4 more days until tracking number was functioning. Then it said in TNT site Viabox actually dispatched the item on November 9th - 12 days after item was received at Viabox warehouse. All this time, I did not get any new information from Viabox support. All of this I learned by myself using info from Viabox site. And then I learned another piece of information: TNT estimate arrival date is November 24th - which is 12 business days and not 3 - 5 which I paid for 50% more than I expected, using Viabox shipping calculator.

Viabox representative said they are sorry, mentioned they were hacked, and took no other action.

Viabox were very unresponsive, every piece of information gleaned from their site was initially incorrect and took long days to even appear.

Do youself a favor, and pick one of their competitors

Scam, won't send packages, no phone #, website down for "maintenance"
November 4, 2015

Just to update on below, after a full 18 days, my packages finally arrived to me. After paying over $450 in shipping fees, for clothes that weighed around 15lbs. They tripled the shipping weight after adding some dimensional weight. But I am still happy, I had thought I would never receive my items and was so worried, sent them so many messages and they only sometimes responded. But at least I got them. I will never use them again, to save the hassle and suspense and some money.
Also, they actually hand wrote some numbers with a marker on the box they sent over, which was just some amazon box they reused, it looked really pathetic.

I sent over $2000 worth of packages to them between Oct 28 - Nov 3. They won't log it in my account, apart for 2 low value items worth under $50, the rest are "missing". Now their website is down for maintenance for 2 days, and their phone number doesn't work, only have an email which NO ONE is responding to. This is a SCAM. I am trying to see if Paypal or VISA will be responsible or the police. STAY AWAY.
Update to my review... So as of now, 10 days after all my packages arrived, Viabox actually logged all 10 packages after I had to email them about 10 times. So I decided to ship the first 5 packages to me, I could be conned of more money - the shipping charges - but I have to try because my items are worth over $2000 in total.
First red flag - I picked 5 boxes to send, paid in full on 11/5. The default shipper is TNT, which is about double the price, and double the time (as in way slower) than DHL, but it's the default. And I didn't look carefully because I was so nervous about the shipping process - would I actually get my items now, or would I get conned MORE of the shipping fees? After your selection, you CANNOT CHANGE IT, even though my package has been sitting there.
Second red flag -They claim they need 2-3 days to process and repackage everything (myus takes 12-24 hours). It is now 11/12 and I am still waiting for a tracking number! I have emailed them many times again (they usually repond in 2-3 days which seem like FOREVER because I am not dealing with honest people here, I don't think)...
Third red flag - my package is about 10 lbs, but I was charged about 30 lbs for dimensional weight (they are mostly clothes, which have NO added dimension), a 1 lb item will become 6 lbs in their calculations... plus the 2x pricing by TNT (vs DHL)... so it's now a $220 shipping fee for a 12 lb box. Again, about double vs myus.com (I am NOT affiliated with myus, I have been their long time customer but decided to try VIABOX because of the no tax thing when they moved to Portland... BIG BIG MISTAKE, I saved like $140 in taxes, but lost $2000)...
Fourth red flag - They double charge insurance! There's a mandatory 1% insurance, and then they will sneak in ANOTHER OPTIONAL 2% insurance, on TOP of the 1% insurance. Hm, not sure how to claim this if my packages never ship out...
I told VIABOX if I don't get my packages sent out in 10 business days, I am going to file a claim with PAYPAL for at least the shipping fee. Let's see what happens... So I am still waiting... to be continued. I hope there's a happy ending to this, and they are only trying to extort shipping fees (which is really EXTORTION at it's fullest), I just want my items!
