Total scam

Lie after lie and they keep you hanging on for months calling back again and again.

Received a gift card as a gift, checked the balance and they said not valid.

After providing all the information they said they required still no resolution after 8 calls.

Every time you call it takes 30 minutes till you can talk with someone and they give you the run around.

I highly suggest that you avoid this company like the plague. I assume they are just ripping everyone off.

I bought a gift card to use for on-line purchases. The company I was buying from will not accept the card and in the meantime someone else is spending down the card with MY MONEY! I have $16.00 left of the original $250.00 I put on it YESTERDAY! After the run around on customer service (and super long holds) I have to go through a dispute process which will take days to months long. Never again Vanilla. Never will I buy your product and recommend that no one else does either.
DO NOT USE VANILLA VISA GIFT CARDS,EVER!

I phoned my gift card on March 25,2023 to check my remaining balance as I had not used the card since July of 2022. The automated system repeatedly told me my card number was wrong. When I phoned again on March 27,2023 the amount that should have been remaining on my card was a pending transaction-I NEVER MADE A PURCHASE ON this past Saturday. Ms. Purple told me that I would have to wait for the pending transaction that I DID NOT authorize to clear before the matter could be handled. I asked for a supervisor and was left on hold until I hung up. Do not purchase these cards for anyone. They appear to be scams.

Our son was giving us vanilla gift card so we could use it to go out and eat and they would always take some of the money away while using it at a restaurant. So finally Christmas of 2022 he gave us $100 we only used 14 and change one day and 21 another day leaving us with $64 plus change. I went to check my balance and I had 8 cents left somebody had stolen the remainder a few days before. And vanilla said they'll open a fraud case that I have to supply all kinds of information and wait 90 days to see if they're going to give you anything back this is a lousy company and a fraudulent company as far as I'm concerned.

I received a Vanilla gift card and tried using it and it only had 12 numbers on it instead of 16. I have called over 15 times and then asked for a fax number. It was faxed and nothing yet after almost 2 weeks. I am so disappointed with them. I was going to use this for my nieces wedding.

I will never get another one without opening it up at the store.

Your company should be on top of things. I sent everything you asked for and over 2 weeks later nothing still.

No issues on 4-cards

Over the past couple years I have bought probably four vanilla loadable gift Visa cards and loaded them with no more than $100 to $140 on each and have had no issues. I bought my wife, a bicycle, one year and a piece of jewelry another time with no issues and myself a couple things. Maybe I am the lucky one after reading all the other reviews. I thought the Vanilla card was the safe one actually Or maybe it's the tape that I bought, maybe? And still have a couple left with a dollar or two left on them. I Just bought a Green Dot card a few days ago, and I think from reading all the other reviews (500 of them) on that brand sounds like I made a mistake as I'm trying to get my money back out now. Isn't there any type of disposable card that is safe out there for making purchases on websites or with businesses that are possibly not trustworthy. ….MR

They activate my replacement card for a scammer although they knew the owner of the card is me and they checked my information several times. How they could activate that for another person?if a scammer get a card so they should mail it to the wrong address. This card has not worked at 2 single merchant. Customer service is AWFUL and I had to go through my bank to dispute and refund. I wish I had looked up reviews before purchasing as they all say the same thing. BUYER BEWARE! Lesson learned.

Got a vanilla card through my work, 200.00 for my birthday. 8 days later money gone. They gave me the run around sent me a packet to fill out with receipt. Mailed it back, 2 weeks later they said they didn't receive it had to resend. Then 3 weeks later I got a email approval and card will be 7 to 10 days later. Now it's 7 months later several attempts and nothing, no card. Scam, scam, scam.

Fraud by Vanilla Gift Card

My 82 year old mom purchased a $200 gift card for my birthday. Unfortunately the company left off printing 4 of the 16 digits on the front as well as the 3-digit CVC code on the back. Repeated attempts to reach someone were beyond frustrating. After nearly 2 hours I got through to "Zuri" who wouldn't give me her last name but required me to email the original receipt (I only had the activation receipt showing amount, date, time that Walgreen's provided).

They then will take 7 business days to investigate, and apparently another 14 business days to replace. So almost 30 days to replace something that never worked. This is terrible customer service. Walgreen's suggested I contact local police and file a report. Walgreen's also pulled the other Vanilla Gift cards and found half were defective just like mine. This is consumer fraud.

I am in the process of contacting Walgreen's corporate to have every Vanilla Gift card pulled from shelves throughout the country.

I will also be contacting all consumer stores where these cards are offered. They should not be available to customers.

Card continually refused and locked

I got the card as part of an apology from a company that was making amends. Went to use it and had 5 locations refuse the card. Each time it refused I logged into the site to see if I needed to do something with the card that was supposedly ready to go. After the fifth attempt, it was "Locked". Spent an hour with customer service to get a new card re-issued. Took two weeks and got the new card. Made two purchases, had the next two refused and after the second attempt, the card was again locked. This has added close to a month of added aggravation instead of making up for something. Don't buy this card. I tried local businesses to national ones and the majority of them decline the card (before it is locked). Kind of a joke card and not worth your money. Just give the person money instead.

I call the number in the back of card to enquire about my balance. The guy that picked up couldn't understand me, then transferred me to an automatic service wanting to know my full name and address so why they need my name and address to just give me my balance? I asked if this was a gift card given to me and since I didn't give them my info he hang up on me. Plain and simple rip off. DO NOT BUY THIS CARDS

VERY DISPLEASED

Do NOT purchase this Vanilla card. Someone used the funds on my card without having the card. I dint even activate the card but they used the funds it takes a long time to get a rep. And you have to argue to get your money back. I submitted a claim and they tell you it takes 45 to 90 days for an answer but they can see the purchases were unauthorized. It's Bull$#*!. Why buy a card when someone can use the funds without having a card. I would NEVER recommend this card to anyone. I am still waiting on my funds again BULK$#*! CARD.
