Has a air bnb host i would never rent from vacasa again! Emailed a week before my trip with a generic message back. Called when i arrive with someone that I couldn't understand and wasn't helpful at all, could careless about my trip
Tried to cancel a cancel request the same day and they said it already processed and in the meantime I talked to a supervisor who said he can get the Same property with the same dates for 200.00 more dollars, I preceeded to tell him to GFH and hung up,Don't do business with these foreign people!
We tried booking through this vacation rental place several times on different Airbnb listings and everytime after our money would go through they would message us and say they could not complete the booking due to technical issues
Do NOT book on Vacasa. We realized within 24 hrs we accidentally booked the wrong dates for a trip within the same month. We asked to switch to the correct dates (the home was showing available). By the time they agreed to switch dates, the home was no longer available. They then agreed we could choose a completely different weekend and did not mention we only had 12 hours to choose. Home still shows available for multiple dates and they refuse to refund or change them. This is my first negative review but I sincerely hope to prevent other customers from using this company. Stick to Airbnb.
Paid $429 for 2 nights just to have a dirty rental. The bathrooms were nasty one tub you can see was dark from Continuous use without cleaning. The curtains in both were stained with dirt comparable to a dog playing in mud and just shaking the dirt off. There were stains and chunks of dirt on the beds, hair left in the bathrooms, food from previous guests in the freezer, the utility closet was disgusting as it had an stained towel and excessive dust. The curtain in the living room was broken and was literally just hanging by Fabric. VACASA took NO ACCOUNTABILITY AT ALL, and after going back and forth for over 7 hours and providing 65 photos of evidence for what they lied and verbally told me they cleaned and inspected they came back and offered to have someone come the next day and change the bathroom curtains and show me how to fix the curtains in the living room. After 7 hours of refusing to respond i was offered 50% of the cleaning fee $100 as a refund. DON'T STAY HERE
We stayed at one of their units in Panama City Beach, FL. The unit was nice but not as clean as it should have been. Food left in the fridge, floors not mopped, bathroom not clean. We dealt with all of that by cleaning it ourselves when we moved in. The instructions on parking were not clear and we wound up with 2 warning tickets. We cleaned again when we left but neglected to clean out one of the drawers in the bedroom. We realized the items were left behind later that day and reported it to mgmt. We were told we had to pay $35 just for the main office to reach out to the cleaning supervisor and ask if they found anything. If it was reported that nothing was found, the $35 would not be returned to us. Missing was $$, mail, jewelry (most important were sentimental earrings given by a brother that has since passed away), toiletries… 3 weeks later, I get a call to say they did not find anything. Clearly, it does not take 3 weeks to check a drawer or to lie and say nothing was found. Sure, our fault for not checking the drawer before we left but they did not have to lie about not finding anything. We will never rent a unit managed by Vacasa again.
If you would like to be arguing with Customer Service for your ENTIRE vacation, then Vacasa is your rental co.
Firstly, our unit in Hali'i Kai stated "oceanfront and ocean view". Hah! Hysterical! If you squint your eyes tightly, you may be able to see the water miles away in the distance.
And, simple requests that were made months in advance, such as twin beds being converted into a queen and a late-checkout, was like asking for the absolute impossible.
After 6 emails back and forth in regards to the bed conversion(which we have done in many VRBO and ABB props) consisted of Vacasa pushing the twin beds together and throwing a sheet overtop.
Now, on our last two days here, we are arguing with CS about the late-checkout we were told would be "a simple phone call 48 hours prior to departure".
"Not possible" they now tell us. Unbelievable.
A first and LAST for Vacasa!
We rented unit #203 at the Admiral Quarters in Orange Beach, Alabama for two weeks beginning on March 4,2023, a Saturday. The following Monday morning, our breakfast was interrupted by construction "drilling" on the floor above us. I immediately called the local Vacasa office and they represented that they would look into it. No one ever called us back. A week later, the drilling resumed and I once again called the local office. I was told that they could not do anything and that it was up to the owner to perhaps provide some kind of rebate. I asked them to do that on my behalf. No one ever got back to me. The drilling continued for additional days during the last week of our stay. On April 3, I followed up with the local office and provided video of the disruptions during our stay. Again, there was no response. Obviously, Vacasa has no interest in meeting and/or solving their customers' concerns. I couldn't even find a corporate customer service number to call.
UNATHORISED payment charged
Booked an apartment with free cancellation on booking.com, no clear indication a payment was needed immediately (I use booking.com for work accommodation twice a month, so I know my way around the site). The day after they started bombarding me with requests to pay the balance (without ever stating what the balance was). After two messages, they finally confirmed the amount. I replied stating
"I will check with the rest of the party and hopefully make the payment in a few hours".
Within an hour, they proceeded to charge my credit card without my authorisation.
While they were very responsive while I was asking questions about the payment, they suddenly went AWOL when I asked explanation as per how they could take "I will check with the rest of the party and hopefully make the payment in a few hours" as an authorisation to immediately charge my credit card. Repeated request to confirm cancellation/refund still unanswered.
Absolute cowboys.
We had issues with our condo. They gave me a number to call. I call and the old man told me he was not fixing S*** and then threaten me. I called Vasasa 2 more times and NOTHING was ever done. Pretty much ignored. I can NOT stress ENOUGH STAY AWAY GROM VACASA and Drift Wood 6h! Bird poop ALL over the bedroom window. Molded lawn chairs on the balcony. Pictures added
We stayed in a house in Newry Maine. Upon arrival we saw the banister leading to the front door was broken ( just needed to be screwed) and the safety rails around the deck in some areas were again, broken or missing however you'd word it. Three times they were notified about this and not once did someone come to fix it. The house was dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning.
We actually left early because of Vacasa not doing anything about fixing the broken railing and cables. Now, trying to get a refund from them for a couple of days is becoming a joke.
I definitely do not recommend this company. This is the first time I ever used them and it'll definitely be my last.
Be careful when employing this company for short term rentals.
I used them for my house for over a year and ended up with few one star reviews from my guests complaining of total lack of response from Vacasa when they had a problem. After termination they kept my deposit allocated to cover unexpected expenses. They returned only portion of it after I demanded this return.They did not respond to my inquiry why only part was returned.They did not credit me with unused linen subscription.I was totally ignored! Just like my quest.
I've used numerous booking services with no problem. Not the case with VACASA. Prior to check in I was told by an on line Assistant that I could not enter the condo lobby prior to the 4 pm check in. That I would need a code for the door that would be sent at check in time. Imagine my surprise when after sitting 1 & 1/2 hrs at the airport my taxi let me off at the lobby of the condo and I walked right in. The unit had a digital lock. I had no problem entering but it would not lock. I called the 800#, no help. He said he would send a message to the Daytona office. No call back by the next afternoon. Being a single female it was a bit unnerving to enter the room after an absence knowing the room was unlocked. I left a message with the Daytona VACASA office. The next day I went to beach to swim in the ocean. I only took a towel with me. No words can explain the shock I felt when upon my return I found my door locked. I didn't have the digital code to unlock it because my phone was locked in the room! I went to Harbor Beach Resort Condo Manager's office and explained my problem. He was wonderful. Got in touch with VACASA explaining they had sent a repair person to repair the lock while I was out and I was now locked out. The VACASA person apologized and gave me the digital code. The next night I walked up the street to have drinks and dinner. I got back to the building about 9. I knew the lobby door was locked after 6pm but had the code VACASA had emailed. After trying the code several times with no luck another guest asked what code I was using. When I told her she said that was the code for the PREVIOUS month, they change monthly! The condo was beautiful with a great view but I will NEVER use VACASA again.
No full refunds. My family from Ukraine supposed to visit me and I was trying canceling and no circumstances they could understand.I wish I could give 0 stars for service like that. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Very sad
Girls getaway turns into roach motel!
Several roaches in condo no help getting them under control. Had to purchase our own roach spray to help control the bugs. Dishwasher was left with dry dishes, bugs were in dishwasher as well. Very disappointing situation and will never recommend this company for future stays.
On april 20th I booked 3 nights (May 25-28,2023) at victorian condos. In my confirmation email it says maximum occupancy is 6. I messaged them April 21st, 2023, asking what the charge would be to add more guests because I only had 2 listed originally but wanted to invite my siblings. They responded on April 22,2023 stating the maximum occupancy is 6 and there is no charge. The deadline for free cancelation was April 25th, 2023. May 5th I attempted to add my extra guests, total occupancy would be 5. I am then told the maximum occupancy is 4. I then told them how everything says 6, we planned for 5, and now you're saying only 4 occupants allowed. I requested either they honor the listed 6 occupancy, or give me a full refund. They say they cannot honor it and their company policy says they will not cancel for free even though it was their mistake, they gave me false information. Had they not lied, I could have canceled it hassle free. But now they want me to pay $480 to cancel. This is extortion, fraud, a scam. They only "apologize" for their mistake and don't make things right. Bad business, very shady, highly recommend never using them.
I'm not surprised to see a one star rating here for this company. They are truly a disaster. Plus, they charge exorbitant amounts of money in fees to both the owner and the tenants! Unacceptable considering they don't do much to justify these high fees. We will be giving our "notice" and will find a property manager to handle rentals from now on. Nothing but a headache dealing with this incompetent company from Day 1.
I will never use them again. You will not get any service from them. They ignored my issue until our trip was on the last day. They would not respond
We booked our vacation in January to visit the Deltona Speedway (Florida) for a concert in May. We booked with Vacasa for a condo in Deltona Beach Shores. We paid and met all requirements. Then, 2 weeks before our trip was to begin, Vacasa canceled on us telling us there was construction from 2022 that was still not complete. Then a customer service agent told us the city closed the place and there was no access. They offered to find another place (less the Airbnb booking fee), but their suggestions were all much further from the speedway than our original booking.
We were understandably upset that there was an offering for rental in a place that was apparently not ready for rental since 2022! At that point, Vacasa offered a full refund and suggested we rebook on our own. At this point we were well aware that there was a high demand for places near the speedway due to the concert. We were VERY LUCKY to find one, very close to our original booking, but smaller. The rental agent told us there were no construction issues in Deltona Shores. The booking that was canceled on us was rented to someone else for a higher fee.
I will not ever use Vacasa again - I cannot trust that they won't cancel for their own convenience.
Never call back, never inspect the property after a guess is there. They never change the lock after we paid for electronic lock is been years. Worse company to rent out your vacation home.

Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
