Bought a large item on Amazon that I needed to return and the seller was kind enough to refer me to uShip. I did get a FedEx quote before listing my shipment on uShip. I quickly received a more competitive offer on uShip and accepted it. Never having used a shipping service outside of USPS, UPS and FedEx, I was a little intimidated by the whole bid process at first, but I had ZERO reason to be. It was straightforward, simple and saved me a ton of money.
The item we shipped was damaged and even though we purchased insurance through them they will not cover the minimal cost of the repairs. We didn't try to file a claim for the $9000 it was insured for, just enough for the parts to repair at $500 (not even covering our labor) and they denied claim. Great for finding cheap carriers but would advise not to get scammed by their insurance.
I posted my shipping need with requirements and pictures. The driver would not confirm a date & time only a weekend, wanted us to be home for his arrival though. He got the order confused and insisted we only had boxes, hen we had 1 desk also. He begrudgingly showed up at a time that worked for us. He started to go to a neighbor at 512 when our address is 521 and told my husband we were wrong. I asked for a blanket wrap on the desk, he said it wasn't needed. There was confusion about the delivery time, so it did keep us in suspense. The shipment arrived, no damage, payment was released. I have used U-Ship several times with good results, but will not use this driver again.

Working with the customer service team was pretty good, for the most part they kept us up to date. The first set if drivers spoke no English and didn't understand the seller
Hi Robert,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry you were unsatisfied with some of the carriers you interacted with. UShip gives consumers the ability to connect with, vet, and ultimately choose their own carrier by comparing multiple sources of information, such as customer reviews, feedback scores, carrier profiles, photos, and links to government sites. Though uShip is a neutral third party that gives consumers the ability to connect with independent carriers, we do our best to assist when issues arise.
We appreciate your feedback and look forward to working with you again in the future.
The Good: Very good customer service. Timely follow up. Very helpful to individual needs and concerns.
The Bad:
I was advise of a price to pay and I sign a payment bill for less than I was quoted for. I was very happy and excited that I was saving a couple of dollars, instead I am told I have to pay the original amount I was quoted for and not the bill I signed for.
I was mad due to the lack of properly conveying the exact amount I was to paid. No fault of customer service, but I do hold accountable the people that are dealing with the account that handles the money.
As a customer the $ we spend for your services should be clear with no hidden costs. I was very disappointed. My personal view.
Overall the car I shipped got there in a timely manner and my daughter who received the car is very happy. AND that makes up for the bad experience with uShip.
Most of the wood items had scratches and fridge has dent. One of the side master bedroom side table has broken. Not properly packed.

First im gonna address some issues from former reviewers.
1. if you are going to enter an agreement read all of it dont just sign it then act disappointed when something goes wrong.
2. Understand what a transporter is and what is required. Its a easy key stroke to find u.s. m. c. A regulations read them. Educate yourself as to what requirements are actually in place and who really needs them.
3. uship sells information period. They are not required to mediate on your behalf if you bothered to read it you would know this and the contract laws that apply are in uship's state of business not your's i. E the shipper.
4. What you paid for a item is not relevant to the price That t. S. p is asking to ship it. You are paying for the time driving, the body of experience of the driver and a minimal guarantee its gonna show up.
Now as a former driver.
This co doesn't care about you they get upset when you tell the potential customer you are being charged a booking fee same as they are (the shipper).
I don't have a problem with the company making a profit but penalizing a driver for cancellations and taxing them at a higher rate makes it more difficult to win bids. This is counterproductive for everyone involved
Customers DON'T communicate with you and then complain about poor customer service.
Uship tells shippers a estimate of what they should pay. But when asked to produce this model to show how they came up with these figures,
They answer with its an average of what others paid. ( Because all t. S. p's cost are the same across the board right?) no not really.
They will fire you without notice and you cant appeal.
They dont seem to understand without t. S. p's you dont have a business model.
Maybe they should realize they aren't the only ones in the shipping industry.
In short this isn't a company you can count on they treat like chord wood " stack them up and burn them as you need them"
Sometimes great, sometimes terrible. I've used uship a couple of times over the last few years and here's some caveats: 1) uship tacks on a service fee to your bid so expect another 15-20% added to your agreed price with shipper 2) only buy their insurance if shipment worth more than $500 because there's a deductible 3) BOL is unnecessary if you are happy with received goods. If you have a problem, call their customer service, however, they'll never refund you more than what u pre-paid to them & service provider has to agree. Any excessive damage to your property is on you. One can try to seek damages from the service provider whose bid you chose, but don't count on their interest to help. Uship is a business, they aren't there for customer service, they are there to make $$$.
I have mixed emotions about this site because of a bad experience. I only used them twice and had a couple bad experiences both times. First time the shipper was days late in delivering my table. The other issue was shipper damaged my shipment on a cross country delivery. Both issues were taken care of but it just seems like the shippers could have been a little more professional. I might use them again in the future if I don't find a better service as they are like the ebay of shipping.

People and businesses use uShip because it’s easy and affordable to price, book, and ship everything from cars to cranes, freight to furniture, and households to horses—whether it’s going local or long distance.
Our shipping marketplace helps you connect with trusted, feedback-rated service providers of all kinds—large companies, small fleets, single-truck owners and even roadtrippers—that compete for your business and offer extra cargo space at a discount.
Many great companies started in a garage. uShip started in the back of a rent-a-truck. In 2001, Matt Chasen and his then fiancé, Heather, were moving from Seattle to Austin. The 9 ft. Van Matt ordered was sold out, leaving them with an enormous 20 ft. Truck.
Along that 2,500-mile drive, Matt remembered the large family heirloom armoire he’d tried–and failed–to ship a year earlier due to the astronomic shipping cost. That’s when he had his lightbulb moment that he’d become intent on solving: creating a way online to efficiently connect people’s large shipments with empty truck space so both parties win.
Matt would go on to make this his focus at business school, where he met fellow students Jay Manickam and Mickey Millsap. The trio honed the idea, and in 2004, they launched uShip.com.
uShip is based in Austin, Texas, with European headquarters in Amsterdam.
Every 30 seconds a new shipment is listed on uShip worldwide.
