I have been very impressed with User Testing during the 3 years I have worked with them. The projects I've worked on have been very satisfying and fulfilling, and payment arrived exactly 7 days after the task was completed - just as promised. I have only had a couple of tasks in which the system let me down, and I have always been paid (at least partially) for my trouble. Recently, the wait time for payment has been changed to 14 days after task completion, but it was clearly communicated and seems to be working. My only real issue is with the survys that I can't get rid of, which appear on my list again as soon as I delete them. Also, a few that are completely irrelevant to me, but do not provide a 'non applicable' option. Very small issues compared to how much I enjoy working with User Testing.
I have been using usertesting.com for some months now and I have completed several tests for various websites and apps. I have always followed their instructions and terms of service, and I have received positive feedback from the clients. However, on January 26th, 2024, I received an email from them saying that my account was suspended and all my funds were voided due to suspicious activity. They accused me of using multiple accounts to cheat the system. This is a complete lie and a scam. I have never done anything like that and I have proof of my identity and earnings. I tried to contact their customer support and appeal their decision, but they ignored me and refused to give me any explanation or evidence. They basically robbed me of $300 that I had worked hard for and wasted my many hours of testing. They are a dishonest and unethical company that does not care about their users or their clients.

Tip for consumers:
They lure you into putting more effort by paying you for the first few tests then they wait till you have accumulated a decent amount in your earnings only for them to rob you of your hard earned money by deactivating your account for no reason!
User tester says they use paypal to pay...payal does not discriminate if you don't have a bank account...but user tester does...I verified my account with my license...that wasn't good enough for user tester...they are not sending the money to the bank that are sending it to paypal...saying they need your bank information is alot of hog wash...big waste of time...
This site used to be good, I even landed 60$ live conversation tests before (1 hour on videotalk = 60$), but that was before... In the last year, they really screwed up... Customer service takes weeks or months to get back to you when you have even the most basic request, screener got extremely difficult and ultimately I stopped receiving tests at all. I wrote to them about that and they deactivated my account, well I said very good as I wasnt using anymore anyway so less of my data that you have stored, the better. I suggest to avoid this site
Tip for consumers:
Avoid if you know what's best for you

I worked my $#*! off for $10 and they $#*!ing returned it. They lied about giving a 30day notice and took it in 2. They also reject every single damn answer, racist, and homophobic. Should be canceled in my opinion. Major $#*! L. Dont waste your $#*!ing time my guy. For real.
These guys are really racist. If we want to be exact we can call it profiling. In their defense they have that right. Still they won't have the true results as they slant people during the screening process. Be warned! I see this type of influence on most of these types of sites. I wonder how intense they'd profile if we reported them to the IRS.
Tip for consumers:
Stay clear. The type of work they’re paying you for is really not complicated, but they tell you not to make more than one account. They do this because they will profile your input before they decide if they will pay you.

I was briefly a panelist for them.
They deactivated my account when I did not violate anything. I asked the reason why, received a response telling me they cannot accomodate my question anymore as I am no longer a member. And that's it. Haven't done anything wrong but got the account deactivated.
Tip for consumers:
Their customer service sucks. It took days to get a response and cannot really assist with your concern
I wasted under ten minutes taking some dumb test and then qualified for this nonsense. The 'scam' of this company is that they have a lot of 'supposed' tests but they appear to be the same test over and over (scam number one) and unless you are in some very niche category, you will not qualify for ANY test. I got various questions about some very specific type of tech category (I had to look it up because I never heard of it).In the interim, you have to answer a lot of questions and you get zero dollars for this scam wasting your time. You would best put your time and efforts to other side hustles. You are best to build a business online. I guarantee that this scam company makes money getting your data that they present as prelim questions. I use the same analysis for every job/side hustle. Don't let companies scam your time and pay you nothing!
BTW: I have added Chrome on my laptop and it was already on my phone but the same deal on both. Again, waste of time and no money made after answering over 35 questions.

this is not applicable. This is for an online company called USER TESTING
I used this app 2 times for a simple testing that I spent a great amount of time to complete, but unfortunately they replied back to me for each time that I did not qualify without even stating the reason. They dont give feedback pf how you dis so that you can improve yourself. Definitely a 0 rating.
I feel like they are so many tests and when you fill them out, at the end website always says you don't qualify. The funny part is, that they take all the information about you from those surveys, you waste your time just to earn $10 and do not get any tests to do.
They are dishonest in their business practices. They do not pay out testers. They have bare minimum customer support. Speaking with their support team feels like interacting with bots. It's so bad! I completed two tests, and they claim that they won't pay me for them. I will be reporting them to the BBB as well.
Tip for consumers:
If you are a potential tester, please do not use this. They will make every excuse not to pay you.

I received a email from Usertesting for a test comissioned by my ban. I clicked the link a couple of minutes after the email, and there is nothing. I signed on, since I previously got a similar offer for another bank's survey. There is no test when I click through signed in or not signed in, in which case I have to sign in. Screwing around their site to see what's up, as there is no way in a couple of minutes the survey is closed or they filled their quota. I wasted more time screwing around being screwed around than the survey would have taken. For absolutely nothing.
They gave me feedback that threatened to give me a one star review, but didn't because it was my first test. They said I gave "little verbal feedback" during the test, even though I was giving feedback the majority of the time. The only time I was silent was when the game was doing nothing/loading or the gameplay was the exact same for the 50th time in a row and I could not for the life of me think of more feedback to add.
Not going to waste my time if they have such unreasonable expectations for reviews. This is a $#*!ty company that does not understand at all what being a reviewer is like. Not worth wasting your time over.
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time with this, find an alternative website that doesn't treat its reviewers like $#*!
UserTesting is the most pathetic application and a way to waste your time. I would not encourage anyone to work with UserTesting. SCAM alert. They are big time scammers and just collecting information and marking all the tests and surveys not for you, once you have answered 3-4 questions.
Worst platform ever to word with and on that they don't even allow us to qualify for the test really bad
I have been a tester for a while but the customer reviews is a such a terrible thing. They refuse to pay me and give you a one-star low rating. If you want to be a tester for this company, I recommend you can try trymyui.com It is a terrible company to work with, with terrible clients and terrible customer support, basically they think they are God, and you are nobody, now the one test is only $10 and not to pay you. It is such a ridiculous thing that kept happening. I am quitting now.
I question the people saying they are making hundreds of dollars a month. The reality is, you don't qualify for over 90% of the tests. You are lucky if you can do 3 tests a week if you spend all day monitoring user testing on your computer, phone or tablet. You will make $20-$30 (maybe) if you spend 8 hours a day monitoring 5 days a week. If you want to make less than $1 an hour for your time, go for it.
I was a 5-star tester on UserTesting valued for honest, thoughtful evaluations that were appreciated by clients.
Then in early July 2022, I stopped receiving tests period, none. And haven't received one yet. Customer supports tells me it's because of my browser settings. My browser settings haven't changed, UserTesting has. I believe that someone in upper management has an agenda based on personal "feelings" because if it were just a technical problem, it would have been fixed by now.
So based on my experience, there is something going on at UserTesting that needs fixing if clients want to get what they are paying for and there are better user experience platforms out there.
Tip for consumers:
Just say no.
1 of the customer rated me 3 and my overall rating got under 4 and I stopped receiving tests. Wrote customer care for another review but no response. Finally decided to close and make another account which they deactivated as 1 person can have only 1 account as per policy. If they have strong rules, they should also have strong customer care and also should take care of their testers. I guess they pay us 10$ per tests but they are making way more than that.
I became a user testing panelist about 2 or so months ago and I was averaging 4-7 tests a week. Than 2 weeks ago I get a email from them stating that I was recognized as someone banned and my account was disabled and about 70 dollars in tests were voided.
I responded with how could I be recognized when it was my first time having a account. To which I have yet to get a response.
My experience tells me if you do well they kill your account and accuse you having a previous account.
I do not recommend them at all.
User testing uses unqualified testers to test apps. I paid $10,000 and could not use the feedback provided. I ever tried to discuss my issues with admin and they didn't care about my experiences with the app and I wasted all my investment. I am reporting them to BBB.
I think you should make title bit interesting
Same thing people want to know about topic and all
Make it simple and spicy at the same time
It's been 4 days. A couple of screener questions, no tests so far.
The only way to know if there are any available tests is constantly going to the site to check and answer some filters if available.
I wanted to make at least $40 or $50 per month, which seems hard to achieve so far.
At this moment it feels like a waste of time, I could give it a try for 7 more days or so, I'll update if my review changes.
And last but not least, I'd like to know why their app is not on Play Store, is that Google does not approve it?
I opened a case with their support because their app suddenly closed while uploading a completed test so consequently, I received no credit. I am on my third email to them over the past week and a half, and still no reply. There is no phone number to call and it's apparent, they just don't care!
Tip for consumers:
Before you sign up, find out what their support policy is.
UserTesting doesn't provide a way to appeal a 1 star review. It lets companies rate testers but doesn't let testers rate companies. Many times I provide excellent feedback for the clients, which they themselves say so and thank me a lot at the end of the session but I rarely see this reflected on my star ratings because UserTesting doesn't make it compulsory for clients to leave a rating. Then comes one client who leaves a one star feedback which messes up my whole ratings. It is unfair that many times we give great feedback and don't get a rating and then one bad rating messes up everything. If UserTesting really wants to assess the tester's ability and get the real rating, they should make it compulsory for clients to leave rating for every test. Otherwise, one bad rating easily messes up a tester's score. And UserTesting should provide a way for the tester to appeal a bad rating. As it is right now, UserTesting is heavily tilted towards the client and doesn't give a good support to its testers.

Setting up a test is easy and doesn’t require any special training. You can set up a test on your own in minutes, or have us do everything for you, from study design to analyzing videos and communicating findings.
