UPS has a much better service. Drivers are professionally dressed, efficient, and have good attitudes. They don't slam packages and complain every waking moment.
I respect their hard working drivers and fast deliveries, however, when you have an issue with shipment - good luck getting someone to help! The robot on the phone is designed to end your call and not connect you to support. Their website information and the one from the robot differs greatly. The site shows the package being prepared for shipment while the robot tells you there is an issue and to file a claim. Which one is it?
I have had great luck with UPS over the years. No real problems -- ever.
At a time they were a welcome alternative to government-run USPS. Now they are fairly equal in terms of dependability and efficiency.
The drivers that I have known are very nice with strong work ethics.
I can always tell by the sound of their trucks, that it is UPS. They use repurposed trucks which is another plus in my book.
Four stars for UPS...
First the good:
LOVE UPS SIMPLE RATE! We ship all over the world (99% USA) and SIMPLE RATE charges us a flat fee based on the cubic inch up to one cubic foot! Best part---> You can use your own packages, unlike the USPS.
More good news. Our local UPS facility in Ludington MI is a GREAT group of employees! I have OFTEN arrived late in the evening, and, if there is someone there, they ALWAYS greet me with a smile!
FRUSTRATION:
Not if, but when UPS damages our shipments it is HELL to work with their claims department. They have this stupid rule that says the recipient MUST save the carton for inspection. What century was this rule invented? Even when the customer provided over ten photos clearly showing damage and mishandling, the claim was denied.

I gave UPS a four. Why? Because there's no one else out there. I'm not comparing them to God, I'm comparing them to the rest. The PO is, well, gov subsidized and dying/dead. FedEx has its problems too.
We ship around 50 to 100 shipments per week. Using UPS SIMPLE RATE via UPS Market Place. VERY HANDY! This is what keeps us at UPS.
Downside--->
Filing a lost/damaged claim is HELL and takes weeks and there is a 54-page PDF that I failed to read that says the receiver MUST save the carton for examination. What?
The is a laser scanner that measures dimensions ON THE FLY while the shipment is moving, so I've been told. So, we make WEEKLY calls to C/S to reverse extra charges.
More extra charges---> PEAK DEMAND SURCHARGE. What? Who does this? Why do I get charged if a bunch of people ship packages at the same time?
More extra charges---> ADDITIONAL HANDLING-PACKAGING/OTHER
No one in C/S can give a VIABLE explanation other than stupid stuff like "You must use corticated cardboard" or "You must use packaging tape", So tempted to say ---> "oh, you mean we can't just wrap used toilet paper around the item?"
So, we call C/S EVERY WEEK and have about 10-20 or so charges reversed out of 50-100.
Bottom line. Where else can we go?

I have been waiting for a month for my order. Was promised delivery on a specified date that never happened then another date and another... Called again for a third time and was told that they don't offer guarantee and the person I to talked to lied... They told me to get a refund from Costco as it would take at least another week with no guarantee. Ordered many things from other companies and carriers during covid and everything arrived within a week.Don't set yourself up for disappointment, avoid everything UPS and whoever deals with them.

I would rate UPS as the best consistent shipping company. Packages always arrive when stated and the drivers are always friendly and courteous. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because on rare occasions the boxes will be damaged. I have not had them damaged enough to hurt the contents yet, but I am sure it will eventually happen.
I really wish someone could explain to me how these scammers can use a logo of a company as big as UPS?

I really had not problems with them. Maybe one time I had to intervene to find my parcel but in general they are trying their best.
I have had no complaints about UPS for years but within the last eight years things haven't been the best. I have a PO Box and a physical address. UPS used to deliver to your physical address now it's both so depending on how your address is written is if you'll get your package. Most online companies let you put both PO Box and (physical address) in the shipping. For the ones who don't I would ask how they ship to decide. In the last few years I've had several packages labeled undeliverable because they were dropped off at the post office with a physical address. UPS I hope you go back to just shipping to physical.

What a bad experience with you guys, my parcel number 1Z57V6Y*******296 is lost, nobody tell me anything, is a shame a big company like UPS, give such a a bad service and worse customer service, my box is lost, my money is lost and you don't give me any answer. Please, once more GIVE ME AN ANSWER PLEASE!
I have gotten 100's of packages from ups and almost never have an issue. Although when i do it is a huge pain to fix it.
Sir, Dec 13: we sent two large packages via UPS to Miami, from Illinois.
They were delivered but we did not know, we made several calls e mails no answer.

Had a package stuck at customs for like 3 weeks, and I had not idea that it was there. The whole time I was thinking it was a delay with UPS, but I never got a notification and the tracking information was way off. I didn't call customer service because I know where that would lead to. But I finally got my package, I just wish I knew it was at customs a lot sooner.
I order quite a lot of things online, and UPS usually ships them as they tend to be larger items. Sometimes the boxes come damaged, i've called UPS on this many times, and it doesn't look like there's much they can do about quality controlling their drivers. Overall, i'd say 80% of the time the boxes come good, the other 20% there are dents/scratches what have you.
First time I used this company to deliver a really valuable parcel overseas. My friend was working there as a manager and offered it under his own responsibility. Everything went fine and still does from time to time for a year already. The delivery isnt always precise with timing, though they keep everything undamaged every time, thats the most valuable point of a delivery company for me.
I started using UPS as one of main cuz my friend started working there. But since then I cant say I had any serious problems with them, everything comes on time and safe, the impression is yet positive.
I use UPS every chance I get. Especially during the holidays. The staff is always helpful and friendly.
Had few heavy furniture delivery yesterday and the USPS stuffs were really helpful. I live in an apartment that sometimes door bell from downstairs does not work. The customer service contacted local UPS and sent message to delivery staff. Later received confirmation call from local UPS that the delivery will be there between 8:30 to 9pm, when usual delivery ends at 7pm. They work extra hard to make sure my items will be delivered! Thanks again!
It is a very good delivery company when it comes to delivering packages from or to USA, CANADA and MEXICO only.
If you are shipping to Europe or other countries, DHL is a much better option.
