My Favorite Company
June 4, 2020

As background knowledge,
I order from this company, literally, all the time. Do I have a shopping problem? Probably. BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE I LOVE THIS COMPANY SO MUCH!
I order something from UV (Unique Vintage) *at least* once a month but to be completely honest its probably more than that. Its probably 2-3 times per month. The total of my orders range from a measly $60 to upwards of $500. (I know, I have a problem lol)
Their styles are fabulous and they have clothing that I cannot find anywhere else. I am not saying that the clothing is cheap, because it is NOT, it is very expensive compared to stores like Forever 21 or American Eagle. But I dont want to look like everyone else who already shops at places like F21 or AE, so for the quality of the dresses and the uniqueness of their style I will gladly shop at UV instead.

Their size inclusively is off the charts imo if that's the kind of thing that matters to you. I am a size 4/6.
They collect brands and clothing from LOTS OF DIFFERENT DESIGNERS and the United States does NOT have standardized sizing therefore it is PARAMOUNT that you
*******READ THE SIZE CHART FOR EVERYTHING YOU ORDER********* because each designer could have a different size chat. Sometimes I'm a small, sometimes I'm a medium, sometimes I'm a 4, sometimes I'm an 8. Read. The. Size. Chart. UV also tells you if an item runs small or if it has stretch. They really try to make ordering easier for you. Any review complaining about sizes/returns clearly didn't read when they ordered.
The return/exchange process is SO INCREDIBLY EASY, the only time you cannot return something is when it is a final sale item which is CLEARLY LABELED you just have to read it. Anyone who ordered something and can't return it didn't read the listing and that is not the company's fault. On top of that, they have this cool thing where when you return something you can instantly use the money you will get back to buy something new if you want and if you decide not to do that it goes back on your card like normal. It's a really cool feature that I really love.

For my own example, I received my Dress of the Month shipment (as previously stated, I have a problem seriously lol!) but this dress was too small. They sent me out a new dress the next day as I returned the other one. However, FLIPPING FEDEX LOST MY PACKAGE, but UV opened up a case to find it for me. Once the case from FedEx was deemed lost, UV ordered me ANOTHER dress and OVERNIGHT shipped it to me at no extra charge just for my hassle!

I seriously love this company and would defend it to the ends of the earth. There are not a lot of companies out there who still care about the customer and make money. I am proud to spend my money here and I am proud to have a literal closet full of UV dresses.

Tip for consumers:

Read. The. Size. Chart. Every designer uses different sizes in the US please read the chart, its there for a reason.

Products used:

Dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants.

Canadian Customers, Stay Away.
July 13, 2018

Let me start by the positives.
They carry a great variety of clothing - different brands, types, genre, you name it. There's something for everyone, which is fantastic. That's about it for the positives.
Now to the negatives.
First of all, they have horrendously high shipping charges that do NOT include customs and duties (for example, HotTopic.com charges an arm and a leg for shipping, too, but at least it covers all custom and duty charges).
Secondly, which is about customs fees. We all know how high those are in Canada. When you buy something that's on SALE, Unique Vintage does not declare the sale price, but rather the ORIGINAL (much higher!) price. This leads you to get a slap of a customs bill that you have to pay according to the declared value. Their reason was that it's "by law and that they have to declare the original price." I spoke to customer service (Sarah Valdez, she was most unhelpful) about it but they claim that they can't do anything about it. I'm sorry, you charge $38USD (around $50CAD) in SHIPPING... the LEAST you could do is help me out at customs! It's ONLY fair that I get taxed for how much I ACTUALLY paid! Anyway, I was severely disappointed when I saw that and will never purchase anything from them again. Keep in mind that I am no stranger to purchasing stuff from foreign websites with different currencies/exchange rates and ALL of them declare the correct amount that I PAID (which includes any discount applied, etc!).
Last but not least. The items I received were good, but both bags looked like they were opened and previously owned (and then returned) as the buttons were half done and undone and just overall look WORN. Sorry, but I wasn't aware I'm buying a worn item. I wouldn't have paid about $233CAD (including shipping) + $40CAD (customs) for TWO pieces of clothing that look and feel WORN by someone else.
To summarize, if you're a Canadian (or even international) customer, stay away from this website unless you want to get taxed on more than what you paid and still receive previously worn clothes. You're better off ordering somewhere else.

Waste of Time and (a lot) of money
October 11, 2017

I don't usually write reviews for anything. I despise Yelp. But after wondering if I was the only one feeling a certain way about this site, I found these other reviews. If you haven't ordered form this before, save your time and money. Their clothes may look beautiful (and there are some good brands sold on this site), but find any other way to get your hands on them.

The negative experiences listed by other customers here could not be more accurate. I am so unbelievably fed up with this site and their archaic way of running a (MOSTLY ONLINE) business.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on clothes from this site, since April or so of this year alone. My first dress from them was (I thought) so wonderful that I wanted to keep ordering things from them. Unfortunately, even that dress was $80, must be worn with a slip because it is so see through, and was super shabby after only wearing it a few times. An overall letdown in terms of quality is a recurring theme with everything Unique Vintage brand. But I figured that must have been a one off item.

They had a great deal for Dress of the Month, so I joined. I signed up according to my measurements. Every damn dress I've received from that subscription (which I have had for six months) is so different in sizing. It's absolutely preposterous. (And, keep in mind, it's all the same Unique Vintage brand, like the first dress I ever ordered through them!) I have kept most of the dresses, but will inevitably have to resell a couple of them. The way they vary in both size and quality quickly turns a good deal into a monthly payment towards disappointment. In addition, you can only return dresses for store credit or credit towards your next month's dress. Although, at this point, I wouldn't trust them to 1. Apply that credit to your account and 2. Actually use it on your next order. In addition, when I truly decided to give up this membership, they would still only give me store credit instead of returning my money upon returning the dress. Really?! I'm canceling a membership, and you think I want to order anything from your damn site ever again?!

In addition, customer service has been incredibly spotty with at best. I had to return two items at almost the same time. A series of e-mails about the second item went unanswered, even though I was only sending an e-mail that time because I didn't have an order reference number for the Dress of the Month Club to use their returns site. This is on top of being placed on hold for long amounts of time when I finally need to resort to calling them. Truly, that is unbelievable.

I've had quite a few shipping snafus with them. I was charged an extra $20 one time for International shipping, even though I'm in the states. The packaging for their shipments is super inconsistent, even just for one at a time. And processing a return is almost like just taking the loss and keeping or trying to resell the item. Truly, the return policy is my absolute last straw, and how long it takes for them to process a return and credit it to your account. As an e-commerce site, their policies on this are so ancient and mishandled that it makes me want to tear my hair out. I'm on the verge of filing a claim through Paypal to hopefully speed up the process of getting a refund for an item that, at this point, was shipped almost three weeks ago. (And after calling last week, where they said the item had been received- unbelievable). It's like they are so quick to take your money, especially with Dress of the Month, but are so hesitant to provide any kind of follow up.

Lastly, the usability of their site is complete garbage. Logging into the My Account page should make you feel uneasy. It's extremely difficult to find information on your previous orders, and the order status is a complete joke. They should take some of the money they are making from shipping/returns and do some serious work on their site. Knowing that other customers store their credit card information there makes me extremely uneasy.

I really wish I had read these reviews before ordering from here. I truly don't mind spending decent money on good clothes, especially classic pieces, that will last a long time. Spending hundreds of dollars on clothes that are so hit or miss and could be mistaken for Forever 21 quality is an insult to what they are trying to provide. This site is a complete scam whose policies on EVERYTHING are more suited for the year 2000. This is a competitive market. Take your money elsewhere, and only be loyal to companies who understand the value you're placing on their site and products.
