It is my first go to site for online products. I am an avid online customer due to the convenience and price deal and souq has never let me down. Refunds are quick. I am little surprised at the bad reviews as I personally never faced any. I would suggest people to read the description etc carefully before buying so they know what they are getting.

REALLY>PER DELIVERY. Souq is a local UAE firm yet it charges 10AED per ITEM. Today I received 5 items from the same delivery firm and driver and was charged a total of 40AED. Really! AMAZON in the US gives its buyers free delivery. Borderfree charges an additional per item that was automatically charged to my credit card without it being shown on the original invoice. I called them and sent emails only to have them returned saying the incident has been solved.

I ordered a xoxo watch of 131 dhs. When I received it, it says remove the stopper before using. But there was no stopper. Went to watch store to check, and guess what?! The battery is finish. I didn't even used it yet. Will never buy again in this STUPID online shop

I have ordered from souq uae many times since i live there, souq got bad products with insane price and some sellers fraud you
I once ordered a rc helicopter v913 4 channels price was very high comparing to other stores out uae the seller showed the rc model as it was real
V913 -4 channel helicopter he faked the information, anyway when i receievd the package after
3 days later after i payed around 15 aid for shipping, i got something else from seller! He sent me another cheap product
It was 3.5 channel cheap rc! It wasnt what i have ordrded and payed around 450 aid for it it was something else he sent me a cheap
Rc helicopter worth around 90 aid! I was totally shocked and speechless... so i sent it back to him and that was the last time
I ever ordered from souq... i uninstalled the app and moved to aother stores. Lesson learnt and thanks for nothing.

Today is 12 of April. Me and my wife ordered maturity pillow on 6 of April. After that we didn't receive any calls, so we decided to check our profile, it is still written that order is Out of delivery and delivery will be during 9th and 11th of April. We called customer service and informed that our order is mysteriously CANCELED. However, how I said before WE DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY CALL from on these days and we just recommend to wait until money will be backed and make again the new order. I do not understand how Amazon's brand can mange their work like this and force their customers write this kind of reviews.

The delivery driver phoned me to confirm I was at the delivery location. However, he had the wrong address. I gave him the correct address and he assured me i will receive my delivery in the evening. I waited until 9pm. Nothing. Checked the 'track shipment' and my delivery had gone back to the depot and the idiot didn't think to call me.

I ordered hair developer 20 vol that I paid 36 dhs for, instead I recieved somy batteries THAT I DID NOT ORDER! There is no direct way to contact the seller other than filing complain through the costumer service! Another thing, the seller name seems very fake! Wahid kumar? Really?

I bought iPhone 6s from souq, its battery is droppping within 4 hours without using it. So i send my mobile to the souq service centre because i had a warrenty.
My phone came back just like that how it went without making any service. Totally waste service. I lost my money buying in souq.

I bought a sony xperia z3 compact one month later broken, took months to refund.
Another item is my Hp laptop very disappointing screen problem due to faulty display cable
In general I dont advise

I recommend this website, specially for things that you can't find easily in the shops.
I have many orders on souq.com, it's my first direction when I need to purchase online.
But also it depends on each seller, not every seller on souq.com is honest, so you have to check the reviews before you purchase.

Twice received faulty products, they do not respond to inquiries and I have never received any refund from them. Never again!

Hi, this is Krishna Ghimire. I ordered 5c iPhone cover. But they people sent 5 5s covers. They also take a back my item. Already 8 days is over but still, they are not responding. Even they are not giving my balance also... one of online fake and cheater company. I am not suggesting anyone. Really service was worst...

Although you would like the 'seller' platform and tools after the initial registration as seller with them, it stops there.

You receive email after few days which asks you to upload trade license even if you are registered as 'individual seller', the same email asks you to upload the Emirates ID card although you already have uploaded it in initial registration. Congratulations the confustion and stupidity started.

Try to list any item, you will get it automatically rejected by their server once it runs during their work hours, they just attach to that 'copy paste' of rules of enlisting items without specifying which was things wrong with your particular listing, submit-resubmit guess what's wrong then enlist again try try try write to their contect department wait for answers rejection after rejection after rejection you just give up and leave. A repeated story with most of sellers. If ebay and amazon opens in UAE and middle east with their same simple efficient clear professional policies, those idiots will close their seller section (at least) within weeks. I hope so soon that would happen.

One of the stupid things also, try to link to bank account, it asks once again for upload Emirates ID card (third incident within the portal, three occasions you upload the Emirates ID!) and guess what to give the stupidity extra twist, in that menu they allow only one file upload unlike in initial registration, so if you upload only front side, you get message after days that link to bank rejected (they just love rejections everywhere in their process and site) because you only uploaded front side of the card! Check with their call center they would say you should scan both into one file and upload it (they enjoy confusions and rejections and frustration of customer).

They say allow individual persons to sell without trade license, BIG LIARS try to sell anything they will reject reject reject no reason no reason no reason then they would say, these items require trade license. Be honest and say from beginning yoy don't want individual sellers because it is practically not possible under this stupid vague policy of you.

One more nice careless gesture is that the call center of sellers is not published anywhere in their site, so you should enjoy yourself one more call in the beginning as seller, call their normal call center (for buyers) explain issue then the agent there will say pls call this number (they give another number) we are not dealing with sellers! Total carelessness from their management and eventually they will loose this important sector of business to competitors hopefully amazon & ebay

Typical middle eastern management without real competition (I am UAE national and middle eastern by the way) but I have to say that

I bought an LG G2 from their site, which seemed as a good, but 2 months later, the phone stopped working. It got all heated up, the battery nearly exploded and the screen got bent from that.
When i contacted customer service for the warranty claim via email, they informed me to return it and they will fix it or else refund the full price. Yet later when I called them, they refused to claim it under warranty for hardware maintenance, and said that their warranty only covers software! After arguments, they said they'll pick it up, but it will take 2-4 weeks to be checked!
I don't know, but if you put a one year warranty and say that we'll fix it within 7 days else we'll refund it, that should be the case.
Really really, bad after sales service, rude and the their warranty is just there to lure you in.
Site to be avoided.

Living in the US, it's very weird to hear something positive about another country over & over again, because here in the US, we practically see our country as the world; the US is the world and the states are all the countries. Just look at how we do sports. ANYWAYS, I keep hearing that it's so much fun to shop in the UAE because everything is so much cheaper & affordable there. I have been to Dubai twice now, stayed at the Burj Khalifa (and maaan they sure know how to melt a credit card). The Burj is an awful lot close to the Dubai Mall, so in my typical nature, I tried shopping there. AND let me just tell you something, PRICES ARE PRETTY MUCH ALIKE when you convert it back to US dollars. ESPECIALLY when you're shopping designer clothes. But "tech-wise", THERE you'll see the difference. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU CAN SAVE IN BUYING TECH STUFF IS UNREAL! And that's just "in-store shopping". While I was there, I met a few people and let's just say they're more of a shopaholic than I am. 70% more... But the weird thing is they HATE the mall, they think it's the most atrocious place among any. So I already figured that they do all their shopping online. I only know of Amazon.com but I don't think they have an Arabic version of it. So I asked where they were getting all their stuff. SOUQ.com! Believe me, it took me more than half an hour perfecting the pronunciation of 'souq'. And once upon a beautiful Arabian afternoon at the world's most gorgeous Starbucks in Dubai. There we were facing our Macbooks and we were virtually at souq.com. I'll tell you this, it wasn't half bad. PLUS I REALLY LIVE THE CASH ON DELIVERY PAYMENT METHOD, I just really think that's awesome, especially for minors who have been wanting to buy something but aren't allowed to have a credit card yet. Yes, I said "for minors" let's face it, nobody carries cash anymore these days. There's just no reason. Going back, ugh, I am such a procrastinator! ANYWAYS, so we ordered a few things. A FEW! And some of the products we bought actually came one to two days earlier. Arrived in perfect condition and purchased at a quarter to half the tag price it has in-store. NEED I SAY MORE?
