HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - OUTRIGHT SCAM! Never have we experienced such INDIGNATION at a place of business. Long story but reveals how they are CONNIVING THIEVES. Arrived at Miami Intl Airport on scheduled time and called for shuttle service. I was told that my PREPAID reservation had been cancelled the day before. NOT CANCELLED BY ME. At the designated shuttle pick up area, met a French family who was also bewildered about having received the same information about their prepaid reservation having been cancelled. As we were about to walk back into the rental car agency, the TU Shuttle pulled up. We approached the driver, showed her our prepaid vouchers, and told her that we were very confused because we had been told that our reservations had been cancelled the day before. She VERY RUDELY told us that she was there to pick up "her customers" and that we needed to call the agency we booked with. We insisted that we were "her customers" as well. We had our prepaid vouchers listing TU Florida Rental Car as our vehicle suppliers. We politely asked her to please take us in the shuttle to the TU office to try to resolve this matter. She continued refusing and started saying that she was going to call the police. We said "fine, call the police". At this point, the other family (who she referred to as "her customers" because they had booked directly with her company), suggested that she take all of us in the shuttle so we could have this resolved. When we arrived at the TU rental office, she wanted us to stay outside their building. This was a rental car agency with a lobby; no reason for us not to go inside and wait as in any other car rental agencies. CONTINUE READING AND YOU WILL SEE HOW THIS WAS ALL PART OF THEIR SCHEME. She continued making THREATS about calling the police. Neither of the TU Florida Rental Car representatives ever bothered to look up our voucher information on their computer. They were unable to substantiate any documentation. When the two police officers arrived, they listened to all and made suggestions to see if the representatives could help resolve this and provide us with a car. The TU rep responded that there were no other cars available although we saw many cars parked in their garage. The officers suggested for us to rent from a reputable business in the future, implying this is CLEARLY NOT A REPUTABLE BUSINESS. As the TU representative struggled with putting together a statement of why they couldn't honor our contract, she mentioned, for the first time, that the contract may have been canceled due to our late arrival. We pointed out that we had met the conditions of the contract by calling them before the pick-up time and we would have been at their agency before the designated time if they had answered the phone when I started calling and if they would have taken us in their shuttle in a timely and cooperative manner. We are very glad that we asked the officers to write a report for this incident because this is the FALSE STATEMENT that TU Florida Rental Car agency gave AtlasChoice Car Rentals, the company which I used to book our rental car: "The client showed up at our offices after his time pick up so its reservation was already canceled, the customer will call the police because he was disrespecting our staff with inappropriate behavior and obscene words. The police had to remove them from our facilities." At no time was there any disrespect, inappropriate behavior, nor obscene words on our part, nor did the ladies make any allegations of this to the police; obviously because there were a number of witnesses who would have testified that this did not occur. Sorry for the long entry, but I hope others will not fall prey to these CONNIVING THIEVES.
