We are happy with the site and the sits we have completed. A few more filters/options would make the site better, like info on toilet/house trained! Had two of those!
I did contact THS twice to alter a booking that was made on my daughters account, before I opened my own account. This wasn't done, I have to agree with the negative feedback about support.
I never got my money back. Have never had any sits (despite trying very hard to get one). They should pay you back as you don't get what you pay for. My advice; research it first thoroughly, then be prepared to gamble. (You might be lucky getting a sit). I wasn't.
I used THS for the first time this month.
As first time user, I cannot spend but great words.
After only few hours I posted my List, I received several replies from different possible sitters. I was already surprised about it. The hardest part was actually to select one of them as most seems matching all the requirements and our expectations.
We selected our final sitter based on the positive past reviews she had, experiences, the communication we had and the fact she was already moving in our country for an other sitting experience.
We were absolutely pleased by our choice and the service provided by the sitter was flawless. Our cats were happy and relaxed when we returned and the apartment was left clean and tidy.
I wouldnt hesitate to use THS again, hopefully repeating the same positive experience.
More than happy to host more travelers-sitters in our apartment in the future.
We have been members of Trusted Housesitters since October 2019 and have used the search & find service twice in that time period. Each house- & pet-sits have been for one month's duration. The website is easy to navigate to set up your house, pets, and self-descriptions. It is also easy to navigate amongst the sitters who express an interest in the post one creates to describe the sitting opportunity. We hope to use the service again in 2020 and also plan to utilize the aspect of it that puts us in the role of house & pet-sitters.

Only suggestion would be how to explain the bad one? The couple said if we wrote a bad review. They inturn would do the same. Just out of spite... so no way to complain about bad housesitters
We thought that Winston and Nutkin were going to be shy, but they were purr-fect, welcoming us each morning and keeping tabs on us.
Sue and Van left wonderful instructions for lovingly caring for the cats and the house. We so enjoyed the stay, the view, and experiencing the northern part of the Hudson Valley and western Massachusetts. We also had fun communicating back and forth with Sue and Van as they enjoyed their days away. We would return in a heartbeat!

I've been completely impressed with Trusted Housesitters and highly recommended them. They allowed me to spend an amazing week in NYC while also having the companionship of a sweet dog. They make communicating easy and I felt comfortable with the various stages in the process. I've used the service as house/petsitter and I've found a trusted sitter to take care of my animals, too through the website.
TrustedHousesitters.com uses their own employees to post fake listings. These housesitting listings are not real! I have caught them on multiple occasions where they offer fake listings and fake profiles.
They post this fraudulent info just to get you to pay for subscription.

I am super surprised and concerned to read your review. Your claim that we have fake home listings on the site is simply not true. Having fake listings would completely go against the ethos and values of the site, these are the very foundations of our community and ones which all members share.
There seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding from your review, so I wanted to let you know how our site works with our home listings. All of our home listings are individually approved before they go live on the site. We approve on average 100 listings per day and these are from fully paid members of the community. If any listing does not meet our guidelines we reach out and help the owner with their home listing.
It is true that some employees have their own home listings as they welcome sitters into their home, these are genuine listings where a sitter is needed to care for their pets whilst they are away. We are so passionate about the company that we all use the site as both sitters and owners!

Great website/concept until I got DEPORTED for using it. US immigration, even though I was on my way to Canada, consider it a form of employment. I tried telling them it's an unpaid exchange, but US immigration didn't want to hear it.
TrustedHousesitters refuses to issue a statement informing sitters they, too, risk being deported from the USA if they're found to be travelling on the app. The TrustedHousesitters website says members are fine to travel on a tourist visa because TrustedHousesitters "don't regard house sitting as work". And, yet, here we are...
My experience with this platform has been deplorable: over a number of months, I have witnessed a consistant lack of transparency, refusal of assessing the documentation provided in support of serious issues reported, and overall lack of any factual help. The platform also allows the publication and spread of false and defamatory content.
I have used this site over the last three years and never had a bad experience. The site is easy to use and never had any technical difficulties.
This service is a game changer - before this service, I had to hire over priced housesitters. Now we get a free service exchange and are meeting interesting world travelers. One of the best online solutions out there.

We have had some beautiful places to housesit, some not so good. We use them as a base to explore the towns and countryside. We make sure that the pets can be left during the day. Forget the pets that need constant care and cannot be left for a few hours. Just look carefully at the photos.

I used Trusted Housesitters for 2 years and have had at least six house sits and all were great experiences -- Met wonderful people - and got to see and experience counrtyies that I had desired to visit for many years. The only reason Igave four stars instead of 5 - is because their rates went up too unnecessarily high.
We used this site to find housesits in Australia and it worked out quite well. Compared to the money we would have to pay for a regular accommodation for a 8 week stay the sign on fee is really cheap. But there is no guarantee that you will find and get a housesit. We have had to apply for many housesits. Some house owners never answered, some just declined but in the end we found really good sits.
This was our first house sitting position through Trusted House- Sitters. When we joined we knew there was a fee for the year. We felt it was a norminal fee to be able to see housesitting positions located across the globe. We just finished our first position, it was highly successful. We are retired and don't expect payment, a month of free rent and time to explore new areas is payment enough.

When reading Owners home listings if you feel that there is more information that you require about the home and/or the pet/s, please always feel free to ask the owner in a message via the inbox. I am really sorry to hear that you feel that the Membership Service Team did not fully assist you when you got in touch with us regarding your daughter's account. We always endeavour to go that extra mile to help all members, however, due to data protection laws, we are unable to discuss or action any account changes unless they come directly from the Primary account holder, which in this case would have been your daughter.
