David and Gilly are very welcoming and easy to communicate with and all the arrangements were very straight forward. Their garden is wonderful, the watering system is all in place and the whole environment is very relaxing to be in. Both cats are a delight Leo is very attentive and affectionate needs a little care though not complicated. Sam is very independent comes and goes as she pleases, and a few times a day she arrives for a friendly chat and a stroke. I would give a 100% recommendation to anyone who is thinking about this house. David and Gilly are wonderful hosts. Thank you both for inviting me to your home it has been a pleasure and I am very much looking forward to being in touch again.
We've had great experiences in our sits but the only problem is that we constantly fall in love with the pets we take care of. Trusted housesitters provides a great way for home owners with pets to find suitable persons willing to care for both. I do suggest a phone conversation which gets everyone online to get to know each other and both sitters and pet owners feel to comfortable with each other. We can't wait to go on our next assignment!
For several years, I have been recruiting housesitters using this unique service that profiles and matches a homeowner with a housesitter in order to care for animals, plants and home tasks while a homeowner travels. The website describes the recruiting phase and the vetting processes and allows you to add your profile, your expectations. Explore their site and check it out. Bon Voyage!
Excellent professional site which works very well. House Sitting is an activity which requires confidence on the part of the house owner and the house sitter. While no system is perfect this site works exceptionally well and I am confident and pleased to use it. The calibre of householders is good in my experience which makes for a comfortable and successful sit.
WE have had nothing but wonderful sitters and we loved our first experience as sitters. We were able to mingle with the locals, our host was friendly, very explicit on the needs of her pets and we just followed her instructions. Easy!
Communication with all of our sitters and host during the selection process has been great.
I recommend this site to everyone I meet and is a pet lover.
The sitter broke a water pipe and invited a third party into my house to make changes, without asking me.
They wont a)refund me or b)engage with me beyond telling me they will penalize the sitter. Crazy bad, rude customer service.
When we were planning a trip, we worried about our home and our animals. We have used a paid cat sitter in the past who neglected our animals. We decided to try Trusted House Sitters and it worked out wonderfully. The people we interviewed were all lovely, the people we selected were everything we could have wanted and as a result, our trip was even more enjoyable.
We have housesat on TH for the past 3 years and have nothing but good things to say. Understandably not every sit is going to be perfect but out of the 10-12 sits that we've done (and repeated) we've had very good experiences at each one.
We have used TrustedHouseSitters in both London and now California where we have moved to with our pets. The website has enabled us to find reliable people who are keen to look after our pets and our home when we travel. It is totally based on trust and we have always been happy with the outcome. In the commercial world we all live in this is a breath of fresh air, matching people who love pets and want to travel with those of us lucky enough to get time away.
We're newly retired and wanting to travel, but have plants and pets we also care a lot about. Trusted Housesitters has been wonderful, connecting us with good people - who often become friends. It's been a great service for us! Their only help with any questions has also been excellent
This is such a great community. I only wish I would have joined sooner. Costumer service is great when needed. Thank you guys.
Only trouble is that some of the home/pet owners don't bother replying or decaying, I think this should be mandatory. Other than that love it!
Thank you guys!
An amazing organization. They not only attract pet owners, but also the pet care-givers to the folds. They employ a screening process to elicit the character and qualities of the parties. The result is a match of like-minded for the care of the pets. There is no compensation for the duty; instead, the exchange is the use of a comfortable home, the owner the confidence of trusted care while away.
We've had several positive pet-sitting experiences via Trusted Housesitters, in the U.S. and England. All the animals and pet-owners we've interacted with have been friendly and easy-going, and the homes have been comfortable and safe. This is a great way to travel and meet people, and a particularly good set-up if you're on a budget. The site is user-friendly and has a good search function for finding dates and locations. I have not had any negative experiences, although I realize that can happen and that there is some risk involved in any online network based on mutual trust.
Thank you to Trustedhousesitters.com for setting us up with a perfect house sit in Portugal.
They do a great job in providing all the details and information for both the home owner and the potential housesitter. Our house sit was everything and more than we expected.
This is the worst house sitting site ever. I have had numerous technical issues with the web site that have gone unresolved. But the most difficult problem I've had is trying to contact customer support in the first place. They do not answer the phone numbers they have listed on the site. The "Live Chat" function is a lie. It does not exist. It is the most blatant example of their contempt for their customers - to have a button that is non-functional. I have never had problems like this with the other two sites I belong to.
Trustedhousesitters has made our travels worry free as far as our house and pets are concerned. We have had three sitters so far and have been very happy with all of them. We also introduced another friend who has used the service and is very satisfied.
I will not put my cat in kennels after one awful experience. I'm also not well off so paying for a housesitter and a holiday is not an option. This service is a fantastic idea - I've just had my first sitters and they were marvellous. I love the idea of people coimng to stay and enjoying my house and looking forward to doing the same for someone else. The membership fee is not extortionate. A great idea.
I've been a member of Trusted Housesitters for a few years and really like the way I can find lovely pets to look after, in a safe environment, as I'm a solo traveller. I would dearly love a dog but this isn't possible so this way I have the pleasure of their company whilst staying in some lovely homes. You can find sits, almost anywhere in the world - try it, you'll love it!
It is a great way to experience life in a local community instead of staying at tourist places. Add the benefit of being trusted to care for someone's precious pets and having a friend to snuggle up to on the couch. Such a variety of locations and pets to choose from all over the world.
We signed up with THS and immediately confirmed a house sit in Western France.
The owners of the chateau that we stayed I. To care for their two elderly dogs said they have used THS since it's inception in 2010 by Rachel & Andy Peck & have never had a problem.
If they needed any information /advice they simply ring THS with whom they have a good r/ship. It was reassuring for us to hear from the perspective of the pet/house owners.
Our experience with THS as sitters was seamless from the beginning. They sent friendly reminders in the lead up to the house sit & promptly answered any questions that we had as first time sitters.
We look forward to future involvement with THS & have recommended this business to many friends who have joined as it is a concept that works really well for all parties.
A definite win/win.
Answer: Fees are an annual membership for both homeowner and pet sitters (approx $120). With thousands of members, I've not had any problem finding a sitter.
Answer: Hi Jim, when house sitting it is expected that you will take care of your own cooking, etc. You will have full use of the homeowners kitchen facilities. We hope this helps. TrustedTeam
Answer: Yes. It depends on where you live but this couple is beyond question the best and dependable and honest. Debbie and Wil Wilburn. debbieandwillwilburn@gmail.com Please give my name: Fluffy's mom
Answer: Your accommodations are free. You still have to get there on your own. Since accommodations are often the biggest expense of a trip, it is a great deal. Use code RAF270183 to get 25% off you annual membership fee.
Answer: Hi Caroline, Thank you for your question, forgive my delayed reply. If you haven't already contacted the Membership Services Team (https://support.trustedhousesitters.com/hc/en-gb) I would encourage you to do so and they will help you to get this resolved. Kind Regards, The TrustedHousesitters Team
Answer: Hi Sada, You'll be able to read reviews of the sitters on their profiles. If there isn't anything showing, then this indicates that the sitter doesn't have any reviews just yet. If there is something else that we can do to help, please do get in touch with Membership Services, and we'll be more than happy to speak with you further. Kind regards, The TrustedHousesitters Team
