I recently made a profile on this site. I was looking for a freelance job as a translator. Then I found an offer from a person named Jason from the USA who said that he needed some freelance translator. I applied and he told me to contact him on whatsapp on this number *******630. I did so he started asking me what languages i speak, do i have any experience in translation. Then he sent me a document with the logo of Optimum recruit company detailing about the project and asked me if I was interested to accept it. I did accept it. There said that I should translate 20 images and receive $550 but first I had to pay $50 refundable insurance fee. I looked up the company and noticed that it was situated in the UK but didn't pay much attention. I had 5 days to finish the job. I did and they give me an email to which i was supposed to sent the translations. This is the email *******@gmail.com. Please notice that it says rUcruit instead of rEcruit. They thanked me for the translation and told me to wait 2-4 days for the payment. Then they send me this: Sorry for the inconvenience, There was an issue during your payment transaction, kindly chat with the project director for more information, transaction should be made on Paypal, and you didn't submit you national id or any means of identification.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
PAYMENT STATUS: PENDING
YOUR PAYMENT STATUS IS CURRENTLY ON PENDING BECAUSE YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT HAS NOT BEEN ATTACHED TO OUR CITIBANK PAYMENT SYSTEM. KINDLY SEND THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS FOR THE BALANCE TO REFLECT ON YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT
-- A NATIONAL ID CARD OR DRIVING LICENSE
-- A REFUNDABLE SUM OF $300 TO CONNECT YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT WITH OUR CITIBANK PAYMENT SYSTEM.
Thanks for working with us.
You can reach me on *******351 I'm the general director of the project
I reached that number, he asked for my ID and unfortunately I sent it. Then he proceeded to ask me for another payment of $300. It was then I started to get suspicious. I told them i didn't have the money and the told they could help me out and that I needed to pay at least 150-200 usd. That happened yesterday. Today the person i contacted first, told i could pay 80 - 100 usd because it wasnt my fault the didnt tell me earlier. I gave them my ID. And i'm almost 100% sure they are pretending to be this company: Optimum recruit limited.
DON'T GET IN TO THE TRAPE OF TRUELANCER. IT'S A CHEATEING COMPANY.
I AM AN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER BASED IN AHMEDABAD. I HAVE TAKEN MONTHLY PACKAEGE OF TRUELANCER LEADS SERVICES AS PER THE RECOMMENDATION ON THEIR WEBSITE.
AS SOON AS I HAVE TAKEN THE PACKAGE I HAVE RECEIVED A CALL FROM ONE OF THE MEMBER OF THE COMPANY THAT IF YOU WANT TO GET PROPER PROJECTS THEN YOU MUST HAVE TO TAKE YEARLY PACKAGE.
MEANS THEY FIRST RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE MONTHLY PACK AND THEN IMMEDIATELY THEY TRY TO CONVINCE YOU FOR THE YEARLY PACK AND FOR MORE AMOUNTS TO SPEND. SO THIS IS THEIR STRETAGY TO GAIN MORE MONEY.
MOREOVER THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN US A SINGLE WORK THROUGHOUT THE PACKAGE.
THEY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO DIRECTLY CONTACT THE CLIENT AND CLIENT CANNOT CONTECT DIRECTLY TO ARCHITECT. THIS IS LIKE YOU HAVE TO DIGNOSE A PATIENT WITHOUT MEETING HIME OR EXAMINING HIM…. HOWSTRANGE.
MOREOVER THEY ALWAYS REMAIN IN BETWEEN WITH CLIENT AND ARCHITECT TO GAIN COMMISSION…AND THEY WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH FEES YOU TAKE FROM CLIENT AND HOW YOU DEAL? AND THEY ALWAYS WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH A CLIENT SPEND ON AN ARCHITECT AND HOW HE DEAL?
MEANS THEY ARE RULING YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
YOU WORK FOR THEM, YOU SPEND FOR THEM AND THEY GAIN MONEY.
MOREOVER, THEY DON'T DECLARE UP TO HOW MANY ARCHITECTS THEY SHARE THE SAME LEAD?
MOREOVER, THEY DON'T DECLARE THAT FINALLY WHO IS GAINING THE PROJECT.
THERE IS NOT SYSTEM TO CROSSCHECK THAT IF THE LEAD IS GENUION OR NOT.
THERE IS NO TRANSPERANCY AT ALL.
IT'S A CHEATER COMPANY. DON'T SPEND YOU HARD EARN MONEY ON THEIR TRAPE.
DON'T SPEND ON TRUELANCER IT'S A CHEATER COMPANY.
ONLINE SERVICES
This is a mixed review. I currently have a support ticket lodged with Truelancer, and I'll add an update when they reply and let you know how effective they were at resolving my issue (which I will discuss).
I would have given Truelancer a solid five, if I didn't encounter two very stressful issues in a week.
Firstly, I was lucky. I found some great freelancers on the site. Their work was good, they got the tasks done quickly, and the payment process was hassle-free and uncomplicated. I was initially so impressed with this site that I considered suggesting to our whole freelance team to sign up just for the easy, no-nonsense, secure method of working.
Then came problem number one. A freelancer couldn't submit the box to end the project and release her payment, which was held in escrow. Every time she hit the completion box, a money request box surfaced on my side. Initially, it soured my opinion of the freelancer, and I thought she was trying to demand more money to release the project or something, but from her exasperated messages I understood that wasn't the case. She was hitting "complete", and for some reason, I was getting "requested more money." I don't know how the freelancer resolved the issue. She had to seek help on her side, because there was nothing that I could do. Eventually, after nearly two days the right box came and she was able to close the project and receive payment.
It was an incredibly stressful event for us both, though.
I worked with another freelancer after that, but he had no issues.
Posting projects on Truelancer is easy. You'll get a lot of proposals, and many of them will actually be well thought out and coherently-written. It's my understanding that a number of freelancers make their whole living off this site, so it can't always be that bad. You'll get a project manager assigned to your project, which is a great plus.
There are some reviews scattered around the internet that slam the quality of work that the Truelancer freelancers are returning. That's partly on the employer - if you want to see how well a freelancer can work, run a competition and ask for small samples. Also, really read through the freelancer's feedback. You can quickly get a feel for who is going to turn in decent work and who is likely to send you a copy-pasted Wikipedia page.
Most of these freelancers are Indian and Pakistani. It distresses me when I see in other reviews that the freelancer being one of those nationalities is a bad thing. It's not. I found some extremely talented freelancers who are Indian and Pakistani. I didn't expect C2 level English from them. Their work needed a light edit, but overall I was extremely impressed with the quality of work that they turned in. They really went above and beyond. I'd give the freelancers that I worked with a 5/5.
Now, problem number two, which is much more serious than the first problem because it involves the site taking money but not crediting it to my account.
I was rehiring a former freelancer. I sent him the request and was sent to PayPal to deposit the money required into the safe deposit, as I'd done before hassle-free. This time, I received an error message saying something about the website's hosting. PayPal took the money from my account and... nothing. The receipt came from PayPal but the funds were nowhere to be seen. The project was just a proposal on my freelancer's workstream. No notification from Truelancer, no money in the safe deposit and none in my Truelancer account.
Now, this is a worrying thing. If this happens with smaller amounts, what's to stop it from happening to larger amounts? I want my freelancer to start work because the project is time-sensitive, but I'm not willing to risk depositing more money after the first lot went missing.
The site is genuine; as mentioned earlier, some of the freelancers rely on it for their livelihood.
UPDATE - Customer service responded to the ticket within six hours of receiving it and completely corrected the issue. 5/5 for customer service. They were prompt and professional.
Knowing how customer service addresses issues, and based on the quality of work my freelancers have turned in, I'd recommend Truelancer to anyone looking for an easy way to find, hire, and work with competent freelancers.
Truelancer.com is SCAM
I was new to Truelancer.com and I signed in as a Freelancer (Web Developer). From the very next day Truelancer team started spam calling me to upgrade to annual PRO MEMBERSHIP which was around 100$. I tried not to fall for it but then they exaggerated the benefits of annual pro membership which tempted me to opt for it. I was working on a project of 500$ and SUMIT SINGH was the project coordinator assigned for this project on behalf of Truelancer. On completion of the project when the client approved it to be as per his demands this project coordinator deducted 15% of project budget and all that I received was 425$. But since I had PRO membership Truelancer fee should have been 8% only. For clarification when I contacted their customer support then they said that coordinator can deduct their fee apart from Truelancer fee But this isn't mentioned anywhere in Truelancer's rules and regulations. Despite of such unprofessional behavior from them I started working on another project of 1400$ and once again it was SUMIT SINGH as our project coordinator so it was obvious that he'd be charging 15% once again. After the project was completed and successfully approved by the client Truelancer transferred 1190$ to my TL WALLET. After which I requested payout of this amount to my account. The very next day when I didn't receive the payment I tried to check it on truelancer.com just to realize that my account was banned and I was scammed by them. I had to pay around 500usd to my developer team as wages for this project. Spent over a month of hardwork on this project and got nothing.
I lost 100$ of membership fee, 1400$ of project money, 500$ gone as wages and not to forget the extra commission SUMIT SINGH robbed me off.
I wonder what Indian Government is doing and how such scamming websites are still running there.
I gave a Neha Gupa project / carsharing site /
After what we proceed the all complete project from A to B, the time and cost were fixed.
The time was 3 months. The price was okay for that page. To the project Neha started working on 4/2018
Today is 11/2018 and the page is still down. On this site dont work basic things like email notifications about signing up, registration, order etc. The pictures are bad, big, waistless and can not be centered, it is not possible to choose from a check box day to rent hiring as 1, 2, 3 days. Neha dont want add subpages even though I pointed it out for min 30x. Neha unable to do standard domain redirection at https: //. So, after entering xyz.com or www.xyz.com, I'm redirected and https: //.
She cant or dont want or dont know did the smtp server for an email conversation. Many things (such as payment gateways, ordering process, uploading photo at order process, etc.) can not be tested until the bases things on this site.
Neha exceeded the dedline by 4 months and has not yet delivered the page functional. The site is incomplete after the graphical and coding pages ex: the logo in internet explorer isnt good. Logo is small smudgy.
I do not recommend! Neha gives your Work to another people! Never give money her anything in advance!
Even if Sumit /mr. Sumit is in truelancer support team/ is the guarantor of the from the Truelancer Support Team and guarantor for your money. Never believe them. I wrote to sumit min 100 message and sumit reacted to 3 each time said he would solve the problem and it will be repaired within 24 hours and today he does not communicate anymore and the project is not working and the money is taken!
Never give them money in advance. Only after all the works have been uploaded!
I personally would not gave them anything besides the wordpress site for 10USD. Never! Warning to everyone. Do not be fooled by the orders and the amount you have in your profile. I've come up with a lot of money and I have a page that can not be used
This is the reality and fact I know about the unfinished project, and especially with the communication between Neha and the Summit, to prove it.
Summit as they do not communicate today. Do not be robbed by words and promis
