TripAdvisor is my go-to resource for travel planning. I always consult their reviews and recommendations when researching hotels, restaurants, and attractions for my trips. The user-generated content provides valuable insights and helps me make informed decisions. However, I've encountered occasional discrepancies between the reviews and the actual experiences, so I always take them with a grain of salt
I booked an excursion in Mexico to go to Chichen Itza for 4 people which cost $800 CDN and the tour hosts did not show up at our resort to pick us up even though we were up and outside at 6am like they asked. When I put in for a refund through TripAdvisor they just ignored me. It's been a month and they haven't responded to my refund request at all. 800 dollars is a lot of money and I will not be using TripAdvisor again.
I have noticed over the years that trip advisor seldom posts negative reviews. I have tried to post several three star reviews and they have been taken down or not been posted despite them being objective. My only conclusion is that there is a conflict of interest somewhere in their business model.
She wouldn't tell me anything and would be angry with me for no reason. Constantly on her phone and wouldn't let me even touch it.
Spyfix6 was basically my last clue.
When I got to her WhatsApp chats I broke in tears, my Wife was about to run away with this guy she had never met in real life.
Cannot thank Spyfix6 (at) gmail (dot) com enough.

I assume it is good since you are associated with them; you seem good. I have never used travel agencies, only church related groups or organizations like CIE Tours. I notice other reviews; take a look at them.
Paid full amount for a tour on 5th April but our visa application was submited without any bank statements on 5th June for EUAG*******. We had no chance for a refund when I did not get a visa to Georgia n got the rejection mail on the 20thjune when the tour took off on the 21june I aborted the holiday whilst my husband was compelled to go alone on his birthday.
No Compensation is offered by Veena World inspite of repeated requests. SHAME. I suffer from fear of investing in another holiday. As old customs I feel v. v. cheated by. Veena World.
You really need to do more research than just looking to TripAdvisor suggestions or reviews... Some of the options that I decided to try based on TripAdvisor reviews were good, but also some were far away from what was written on the website...
Tripadvisor helped us plan fabulous vacations. We had the most wonderful hotels and B&Bs in Italy, thanks to Tripadvisor. But now I wonder if it's been co-opted by businesses or they have a new site planner? Presently trying to plan a trip to see family in the UK and then head to the Lake District and various spots in Scotland. The whole time the reviews for various hotels are being obscured by ads and notes that 'this hotel is not available for your dates' even though every time I clear dates, they seem to be back again when I check the next place. I just want to check the hotels... if I like them I will see if they are available and enter the dates then. In planning multiple stops there are different dates and locating the good hotels is paramount -- I can plan a trip around favorite spots depending on their availability. I don't want the information blocked - which is what's happening now.
Also they are not showing maps as they once did and the traveller's photos, which used to be priceless to find out the real condition - now even when you click on it, you have to go to management or 3 separate windows of options when you've already clicked Traveller Photos! Then you have to go through albums... click, click, click, click! I'm now getting carpal tunnel in my fingers! I clicked it once... traveller photos! I liked going through all the photos. So frustrating.
I think I have only given glowing reviews on tripadvisor because, thanks to them, I've had wonderful experiences. So I'm sad to share my frustration about their site and what has happened to it. Have tried to contact them to ask if they would consider returning the site to how it was previously organized. Or if there have been other complaints. It's easy to read the reviews and tell if the review is written by someone with a genuine complaint, or if the review says more about the reviewer than the hotel! It used to be a priceless tool - but it's Pricefinder feature, along with the ads and photos, have lost them this devotee!
We were a party of eight attending the new year's dinner and dance, staying over three nights. The accommodation was very good in the upgrade room except for having the shower being over the bath and water not very hot.
The food was excellent over the whole period but the live group playing on new year's eve was far too loud and only played the same tempo so anyone wishing to have a romantic dance was not catered for except for the disco chap who played a medley of 60's music. This rather spoiled the evening for us, however on new years day there was an excelleny sing over dinner that evening.
We would not go back unless they had a better live group more sympathetic to the age group attending. Our age group was 50 to 60.

Trip Advisor is a good resource for travel information, but it has become too greedy trying to sell, The pop ups and spam are too much. One should to be able to ressearch for trips with out one's mail box getting filled with spam.
Sometimes you can find a useful information about different places. But sometimes there's a total lie! And I don't like their website design, it's not convenient. A year ago I booked hotels here all the time. But now I use another service.
I am a heavy user of TripAdvisor to plan vacations. I do not trust all the reviews since, few might be fake. I've read on "TripAdvisor: the funniest reviews, biggest controversies and best spoofs". TA is good, but few reviews seems not to be genuine.
They do not update you if a business is no longer in business. More than one time I tried to eat in a restaurant that was now closed! Same goes for tours. There was a free city tour I wanted to try and it no longer existed, but trip advisor did not update their website.
I used to trust the food reviews, but not anymore. Same for hotels. Some restaurants and hotels encourage people who had a good experience to write reviews, so the results are skewed. There are also too many large or high volume restaurants that overshadow smaller and better places.
Tip for consumers:
Take the reviews with a grain of salt.
As a business owner it was a bad buy to sign up for their annual service that offers also booking through Tripadvisor. They are not up to the task neither technologically or strategically. I had 0 traffic in sales. Price tag is high for what they offer. Stick with the review panes only. It is free and adds value to your business.
Although I always check trip advisor, I also try to do some research on the web. Reviews are based on perspective.
I usually use it before a trip. They have the scoop on everything.
As like my dad, I am also a travel lover and love to have events in some enthralling destinations. My dad always love to choose Tripadvisor to continue with a package and they served us magnificently yet. So I love to share the experience with Tripadvisor here with you guys. We remember you still and hope to plan another trip with you. Expect anytime...
This site favors th user, but does not help the business owner. It's near imposible to remove a bad review or remove your listing (which you didn't agree to list on the first place) i find that highly unfair, and to disadvantage of many.
We made the proof of concept regarding Restaurants in our Home City of Antwerp.;-) Its ok, but shows, that the recommondations are made by tourists and mostly not by locals... we have other choices. But it still helps, we found some good davice on various trips.
I starrted using it many years ago and it still works.
The main problem is that the reviews can be fake as tripadvisor doesn't check if you have really been there.
Anyway I think that if you only consider the reviews of people with more than 30-40 reviews, you can still get good advices!
I always use this trip advisor for my family tripe. This website really helped me to get a best tripe experience along with family. Their tripe suggestions are always very good and useful for us. So I use this tripadvisor.com for making my trip successful. Even you can get a best trip advice from here.
Can be quite informative Negative to many adverts and it seems some of the negative reviews are quite undeserved written by disgruntled customers with an axe to grind More open honest reviews required A fairer method would be for Trip Adviser to contact the business or establishment to give them a chance to explain before a poor informed report ruins an otherwise good establishment.
Tripadvisor is exactly a good travel advisor. To plan our travel destinations and other tour formalities can done with this service. They are having several good destination list and accommodation help information.
I have used the tripadvsior for my vacation trip with my family. And really the trip advisor has helped me and my family a lot. They have provided wonderful hotel for the entire stay. And I have used this service, since it is the website which has numerous customer reviews which plan me to use the trip advisor.
I think one can find genuine reviews on Tripadvisor. Although this has been used as a great marketing tool, still there are a lot of genuine reviews which are available here.
