  • Spencer Flint must be one hell of a salesman because every positive review seems to be of him...
  • He also claimed we were currently paying 24 cents to National Grid.

Bought system 6 years ago. Communication was great as well as install. This year the inverter broke. Within a month, it was replaced for free (we read that some companies take a year to replace.) Several neighbors used Trinity this year (2023) and have Bern very satisfied.

Solar install did not look like what I was told it was going to. They left me with a roof leak that destroyed my dining room ceiling. They destroyed my roof in the process. I've been fighting with Trinity and Sunova over the repairs for months. Trinity keeps on passing me off to someone else in there company almost every time I call. My dining room is still without a ceiling and now my roof needs to be replaced. Total headache from the beginning. I would not recommend them to anyone!

My solar system was installed by Trinity in 2015 on my 20 year old roof with 3 layers of shingles and damaged the roof in the process. The system stopped working in June 2019 and till now (May 24th 2021) it is not repaired. I've been fighting with Trinity and Sunnova over the repairs for years. Finally I gave up. Recently the North Hempstead Town office called and told me that there is a work permit opened by Trinity Solar and need to be closed. Ever since I am trying to reach Trinity again and they don't have an answer. Don't know what to do now. So please be very careful if you are planning to use them. Worst company and customer service ever. I would not recommend them to anyone!
No one in the company care about the customer once Trinity gets the money.

I got the solar system from them with lots of promises. But after issue after issue lies, deception, and completely ignoring me as a client. I hope this review helps people stay away from crooks. Brian Valente was my rep and sure made alot of promises. My account is now with Sunnova energy, who is a terrible customer service company, they dont answer emails or phone calls. But back to to Trinity, I was promised a savings of $600 a year, well its been 7 years. Guess how much my annual savings have been for last few years. 2022 savings a whooping $32,2021 The system under produced so much that there was no savings actually cost more money. Oh also they originally promised me 33 panels that would produce almost 9kw but only installed 28 panels without my authorization. When I asked them why, they said they overestimated the amount and that it would still produce this same amount. And also told me if it doesnt they'll come back and add more panels to make sure the need is met. (another big lie)
Fun bunch. So if you want to get swindled lied to and deceived this is the company to pick.

It is with great disappointment that I feel compelled to share my recent experience with Trinity Solar. Unfortunately, their track record of missing multiple appointments and providing subpar customer service has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I strongly caution anyone considering their services to think twice and explore alternative options.

From the outset, Trinity Solar portrayed themselves as a reliable and customer-focused organization. However, it quickly became evident that their promises were nothing more than empty words. The first appointment they missed was our initial consultation, leaving me perplexed and frustrated. Not only did they fail to show up, but they also neglected to communicate or provide any explanation for their absence. This lack of professionalism was concerning, to say the least.

Hoping that it was an isolated incident, I rescheduled the consultation and gave them another chance. Unfortunately, history repeated itself, and they missed the second appointment as well. Once again, I was left waiting, wasting precious time and energy. Their disregard for punctuality and their customers' schedules is simply unacceptable.

Attempting to address the issue with Trinity Solar's customer service proved to be an exercise in frustration. Multiple calls to customer service only resulted in offers of rescheduling more appointments. It seemed that once they had secured my interest, their commitment to delivering on their promises evaporated. Their dismissive attitude and lack of accountability only added insult to injury.

The consequences of their missed appointments extend beyond mere inconvenience. I had hoped to transition to solar energy, both for environmental reasons and to reduce my energy costs. However, due to Trinity Solar's repeated failures, I am now left in limbo, uncertain about my next steps and wary of entrusting my solar installation to a company that has demonstrated such unreliability.

In conclusion, I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am with Trinity Solar. Their repeated failure to honor their commitments, coupled with their dismissive customer service, has shattered my trust in their ability to provide a reliable and satisfactory service. I strongly advise potential customers to explore other options and seek out a solar company that values professionalism, punctuality, and customer satisfaction. Don't make the same mistake I did by placing your trust in Trinity Solar.

We installed solar panels from Trinity about a year ago leased through Sunova.
We are paying more per month after you add the $149.00 lease to Sunova. We where mislead on two issues. We were told our total bill would be reduced by 50% WRONG Its more with the lease. The usage has been reduced but the bill is more. Second we were told that if a remove and replacement was needed for a roof repair it would be $800 WRONG Try $4000. 00 Even though they said our roof was fine it needed replaced due to issues caused by previous roof installer. We appealed to Trinity and Sunova to no avail. Can someone help?

Promises, promises and more promises but none come through. They get you in with great sales reps, who'll even give up part of their commission to get the sales, and tell you they'll give you $500 dollars for sign on within 2 weeks and $1000 for any referrals. NONE COMES THROUGH! YOU CALL AND CALL regarding this but still no promised money. This set of lies to gt you hooked really makes you wonder about the company. My satellite ha to be replaced right after they put my panels on, another strike on them. I could go on but, they work to promote Sunnova, and then run.

Homeowner's BEWARE! If you have ever considered going solar, I would highly recommend it HOWEVER do not take the ultimate risk in using Trinity Solar!

My wife and I bought our home in 2017 and wanted to have solar installed in 2018. We were originally denied by SolarCity due to the "ridge sag" and general condition of the roof, no harm no foul. Fast forward 2 months we are solicited by a Trinity sales rep, Mark Lomas (who I believe has since quit the company) and told that "SolarCity is an Elon Musk company out in a Cali, they don't care, we do thousands of homes in NJ. I mentioned the roof concerns, he shrugged them off and said it would be no issue.

Well, here we are at the end of summer 2021' and my wife and I had to have our entire roof replaced due to severe structural damage and leakage caused directly from the solar panels that were not properly rated to be installed on our roof. This was the professional opinion of 7 different roofing companies we had come out to give us an estimate. Would you like to know what Trinity Solar's response was when we called them and asked for the panels to be removed? After 3 weeks of non response to hundreds of phones calls and emails, my wife was finally able to speak to "Brian" the customer service manager.

Brian was nice enough to inform my wife that Trinity Solar would be charging us $5000 to remove and reinstall their panels that destroyed our roof, but since they took 3 weeks to even acknowledge us, he would do us a favor and give us a 50% discount. Thanks Brian! Once the service was completed (and the team left their debris and trash all over my yard), my wife and I respectfully requested to Brian to at least be forgiven the reinstall fee, since it was realistically the fault of the solar company that our roof failed. We were told, quite literally, "Trinity Solar does not believe the integrity of a roof has anything to do with their product."

So, moral of the review, solar power is great... but Trinity Solar truthfully believes that the safety of your family and integrity of your home's roof have absolutely no meaning to them. They have admitted to knowingly installing product on a compromised structure and then shifting the blame to the consumer. Please beware! Save yourselves tens of thousands of dollars in repairs and heartache by not dealing with this company! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst foe and I cannot wait for the day to sell my home and be done with Trinity Solar forever!

Talked to Luis last week and just talked about the basic information to get the ball rolling. I was actually talking to another company last year but held off because I was nervous. Decided to talk to trinity because of a friend and I talked to Luis & decided to pull the trigger and get this done. The following day trinity and sunnova ran my credit which isn't a problem but trinity never asked if they could and in the process they forged the electronic copy which I didn't have any idea they did till I received a copy in my email. After receiving a alert to my credit I texted Luis and ask if they where sunnova because they just pulled a hard inquiry on my credit. Luis responded and said yes trinity and sunnova are the same. I then texted and said that I didn't recall giving my ss# how did they pull my credit. Well apparently they got it from my light bill. That text went unanswered.

Figured I would talk to him more about this in 5 days when we where suppose to meet up and discuss my options. Through your the day of our meeting I text a few times if he was coming and what time? No response. Finally used a different tel number and he told me that trinity had computer problems and that he'd text me in a hour. (2 hours later he texted and said that trinity was still down could we do it tomorrow. I said yes and wanted to know what time.( another unanswered text). Well I do know all companies have good and bad reviews online so I don't use it 100% to make a purchase. But with all these issues already. Too many red flags and think maybe these reviews just saved me from making a horrible mistake.

Tip for consumers:
I know all companies you will never find a company that has 100% perfect reviews but I really gave it a lot of thought. If the company is willing to forge a electronic copy of authorization to run my credit. What other shady things would the company do.

Products used:
Solar panels. A lot of the ratings I had to skip because there where too many red flags to continue with the signing of a contract and the install.

Trinity Solar and SUNOVA are running a scam: they came to my house and gave me a false spiel about the costs and I signed a contract for them to install a system. The price he gave me verbally, to be paid monthly for 25 years was under $90 which I calculated after he left to be $26k total payment for the system, which was reasonable for the system I was to get. Supposedly that price would actually save me a ton on my electric bill because the system would be generating enough electricity to lower the unit cost of the KW hours I used from Duke energy from 18 cents to 12 cents per something or other. Taht reduction in the KWH unit charge is what I would be paying Sunova for 25 years he said, and I forget the exact amount but it was under $90 and over $80. The system would be big enough to supply about half of my electricity that I'[m usi9ng at the Peak season (now) in half, so that I would be saving much more than the $85ish payment to Sunova. But turns out to be a bald face lie they have it set up to click through and initial the contract without ever seeing the details that he verbally gave me and I trusted him. But I shouldn't have because the document I signed obligates me to a $102 payment in the first year, which goes up every year after that to like nearly $200 in year 25 for a total of over $*******, which is enough scratch to nearly buy a Cadillac full system with batteries! I think I can still back out. I'm calling them M

Tip for consumers:

FRENDS BEWARE!
I got my solor panels on my house in May of 2022 from Sunnova Solar and installed by Trinity Solar. The system was supposed to produce 110% of the power that was to be used for my house. I didnt pay much attention to it(im a construction worker and its a busy time of year) but what i did knowis that I wasnt to get a power bill except for the small fee to be on the network. About 3 or 4 months in, while at work one day, I noticed an email from the original power company. It stated that I used less power than the month before. I found that strange as I should not be getting a power bill. I then decided to look at my on line baking service and sure enough I was still getting billed. Trinity had installed a system provided by Sonnova that didn't work at all and I was payingtwo power bills now. So i called the rep from Sunnova and never heard anythingback from someone in the compant. I think decided to call our rep from Trinity and he told me he would get his people on it and that worse case in January they would reveiw my account and refund me the diffrence of what I spent... January came and went and still no refund or any contact from Sunnova. February came and I shut the payments to the system off. Now sunnvo wanted to talk about what they could do for me to start payng them again they even sent a technician out to look at the system. The system was down for 10 months because they couldnt get parts. They informed me the Trinity rep had misinformed me, that the reveiw of my account would not be until three years from you installment date and and you are required to pay regurdless of the state of your system and they have till the 3 year date to credit you back for the money. Hopefully your not on a budget and can afford two power bills because that does not matter to them! After a month of this back and forth BS with them they told me they could do an early review since my sytem never worked from day 1.That was a few months ago they still have not and are now sending me emails that Im in default and if I dont pay up for the time the system was broke by 6-15-23 They will hold me responable for the balance left on the system. $22,767.04... Dont get caught in their trap. The company cant get parts and man the labor for the system they are selling.

Spencer Flint must be one hell of a salesman because every positive review seems to be of him...

This is the most dishonest company I have ever worked for. The company is terribly disorganized, no showed me on an inspection and the second day of installation. I call and get a very polite woman on the phone who apologizes and I will admit was very professional but it happens again and again and again... it took 8 months to get my system turned on and I found out that the finance company that they were using went out of business but they never told me till after they installed the panels. I hired a lawyer and they finally returned my calls. You will not find a bigger wolf in sheeps clothing than Trinity Solar... If you went with Trinity and you're happy then you're in the minority... I just spoke to another solar company this week and they are using 340 watt panels. Trinity put 260 watt panels on my roof which i'm stuck with for the next 20 years

NOW HE SAYS HE NEVER SAID THAT OR EVEN BETTER SAYS HE SORRY IF HE EXPLAINED IT NOT RIGHT. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. AN THEY SAID THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. Very disappointed with this company. They do shoddy work and when you call them out on it, they don't want to take responsibility for it and fix it at their cost. They have sent technicians to my house that Trinity didn't even know their names! When I called after a tech was here and described the person, they had no clue who I was talking about! How do you not know your employees? Very disorganized and poor workmanship. I would never recommend this company to anyone! I found out from an attorney that 15 years ago, Trinity Solar was called Solar Heaven. They changed their name because they were sued by a ton of people in Ocean County and part of the court order was that Solar Heaven was not allowed to conduct ANY business whatsoever in Ocean County for life. Solar Heaven changed their name to Trinity Solar and still continue to operate in Ocean County.

Started back in February. I interview all of the major solar company's. After every going through this I selected Trinity, mistake one. Installation to begin end of March, they were on time. That is were the good news begins and ends. Since that time they (installation folks) damaged the paint in the hallway next to the attic entrance and also the attic entrance (which is a framed in area). I mentioned this to the lead and his response was. Do you have any paint? Do you have any paint!. Time marches on damage repaired NO. System turned on NO. Effort being made by Trinity to correct situation, mostly silent. No phone calls, trifling email and to top it all off. A Mr Kelly calls on Wednesday 06.08 and wants me to call him asap... gives me his cell phone number so I will have little trouble reaching him. I call... voice mail... again... voice mail. Finally is call the office speak to a very nice lady Lesley (customer service). She is very apathetic as is my wife... but proceeds to tell me Mr Kelly is on VACATION for the next couple of days. A little tidbit that what have helped. Well he answer his company cell while on vacation... I doubt it. So I can't talk to him on Thursday or Friday certainly not Saturday or Sunday and Monay when he returns he will be swamped and my problem pushed aside. This is TRINITY SOLAR. You want to deal with a company like this? No and if I could I wouldn't either.

I signed up with Trinity Solar to install my solar panels in summer 2015 and finally the panels were installed but not inspected till March -April 2016, although my contract promise a completion date of Oct 15,2015. The salesman who sold me the system left the company and I finally found out many promises he made were not delivered. For example, after the system finally be inspected and is producing electricity, the company did not set up an automatic monitoring service for our system which is different from the term of the contract. In fact, many homeowner will not look into the language carefully and knowing if their system will be monitored by the company which is standard service every solar installer offers with the installation. Initially Trinity try to use excuses to exclude my system from this automatic monitoring service after many weeks fighting plus withhold the final payment for the installation, they finally agreed to include the system as part of the service. I was then told this in fact is a standard practice for all cash payers. They apologized for the mix-up. A year later, March 2017, I was told by my SREC company that Trinity did not connect the remote monitoring system directly to the production meter. As a result, the SREC company could not get the solar protection number from the SolarEdge automatic reporting system. Instead, me, the homeowner will need to report the production each month manually, took a picture of the meter production then email to the SREC company which is not what I signed up for and I believe no consumer is expecting they will have to report it manually each month. What I signed up for is an automatic monitoring system and automatically report the problem or the production number without human intervention. I contacted one of the manager at Trinity in March and was assume the problem resolved. As I never heard back after received a letter informing me that he "will jump right on it". Today I was contacted by Trinity Monitoring department and told me my solar system communication was down and I checked on my phone APP and found my system has been down 2-3 weeks ago. Trinity solar just found the problem. The monitoring service they provide supposed to be on daily basis. Trinity did not discover the problem till 3 weeks later which is not acceptable per the industry standard. I then ask about my production reporting system issue I contacted Trinity 4 month ago, and I was told in order to change the connection from the monitoring system from the inverter to from the production meter, there is a $1200 additional charge which is absurd. When Trinity Solar set up the production meter, they should have installed the remote monitoring system directly to the meter. But due to this company is NJ based and unfamiliar with Massachusetts state solar production requirement & regulation, they failed to follow the MA state regulation and installed the monitoring system connected with the inverter. Now Trinity wants me to pick up their cost of modification to system to meet Massachusetts requirement. Trinitys deceiving practice must be stop.

So im still paying JCPL 100plus per month and im paying Trinity 75... they told me my electric bill be will always be around 5 to 20 dollars because thy provide the service. BS now they are telling me I must way a year plus before MY JCPL bill comes down to 5 or 20 dollars... they never told me this. Very misleading, costumer service sucks they are bunch of liars. I was told by my salesman that I would be up and running in four weeks after installation. Panels were installed 10/28/2015. I am still not up and running after several calls to Trinity and personally expediting final inspections. After talking to Trinity today they claim they are awaiting an SRP# from the state for which they applied on line 11/11/2015. I personally called NJ Clean Energy Program -*******278) the program that issues the SRP# - and was informed that it takes aprox 4 months to be issued a SPR# and that Trinity was suppose to have had this number before installation. They said I will probably not be up and running until March if I am lucky. I would never refer Trinity and am calling the BBB.

Mr Spencer Flint, a salesperson for this company has little regard for peoples time and assumes a lack of intelligence for homeowners as well. Though we were very busy when he pulled into our driveway we invited him into our home to just take a look at our electric bill and get a picture of our electric panel after which he promised to make an appointment for another date to actually discuss the possibility of solar. Once inside he crammed his entire sales pitch down our throats for over an hour before taking the pics. He kept insisting we would be saving as much as 85% off our electric bill. The pamphlet he offered indicated that we would be paying 12 cents per KWH to Trinity. He also claimed we were currently paying 24 cents to National Grid. He also indicated this would be on up to 85% of our bill. I kept trying to point out that his numbers didnt seem to add up but he insisted hed explain it better at the next meeting so Id understand. First, Natl Grids rates are tiered, we do not pay 24 cents for every KWH. Even if we were paying this much for all our electric, that would only amount to a 50% savings on up to 85% of the bill. He said we were also paying much more than any of our non solar neighbors, as much as a Chinese Restaurant. Not correct. I emailed Spence that evening after talking with neighbors and again after talking with others in my neighborhood including those whod recently had solar installed by Boston Solar who Spence claimed were subbed out by Trinity. That was only correct in one of three cases. He never responded to my emails. Tonight 15 minutes after he was scheduled to arrive I called his cell. He did not apologize for being late and informed me he was having a busy day bit was on his way. Fifteen to twenty minutes he said. As I was ending the call he spoke an address. I infoprmed him that was not my address after much checking he insisted our appoint was for a different day. He was standing next to me when I wrote the appointment on my calendar after much discussion, because my days are also busy. The date he claimed was not one I was even available. Then he offered to come by later like 9PM? When I said that wouldnt work his response was Guess were not the company for you. Guess so. I prefer honest well informed folks who keep their commitments.
