My wife and I stayed at Crowne Plaza Kitchener recently on May 31,2024 for 1 night.
We were a walk-in customer on the evening of May 31 at approximately 8:30pm.
My wife and I used Booking.com platform to check hotel rates in the area and found Crowne Plaza was close bye and with reasonable rates for a last minute booking. However we did not book online, preferring to drive over to the hotel and see if we good request a better rate directly from the staff.
Upon requesting room rates for the evening, the Receptionist informed us Crowne Plaza could not offer a better rate than the CDN260.00 we found on Booking.com
At this point, Receptionist asked if we use Traveluro to book hotels, as they tend to have the best rates - even for Crowne Plaza. We were not familiar with the platform but he Googled the website to show us. At this point, we could not access the site, so we continued on his Hotel computer. He assisted us with imputing the dates, etc and came up with what appeared to be a much better rate for the night of CDN232.00 (including taxes)!
We were quite happy to proceed, and he assisted us by imputing all the info on Crowne computer, including paying with our credit card. We got the wifi working on our phone, and received email confirmation from Traveluro of our booking and gave Receptionist the booking number which he retrieved from his system, and proceeded to book our room for the night.
The problem for us occurred when we returned to our home in Singapore the following week. We were checking our credit card transactions from our trip and noticed we had been charged SGD324.00 for our booking at Crowne Plaza instead of the CDN232.00 we were supposed to pay (note the exchange rate between Canadian and Singapore dollars is almost 1:1, so we knew the higher charge was not due to currency exchange)...
We immediately thought the Traveluro had overcharged us,and contacted them. They responded quickly to inform us that the room rate we were quoted was in US Dollars, and the amount of USD$232.00 is the indeed correct, and the amount charged to our credit card.
So now, instead of us saving almost $30.00 by using Traveluro recommended by Crowne Plaza staff member, we end up paying CDN72.00 MORE than what we were going to book the room for, on the Booking.com platform...
We tried contacting Crowne Plaza to ask them to fix the problem for us, since it was their staff member who helped us complete the room booking. They refused, saying the problem is with Traveluro. Traveluro responded to our request by saying it is not their problem because their site quoted correctly based on the currency button set to USD and not CDN.
Just another example of no one wanting to take responsibility for a problem, and the customer left paying for it...
I was searching for a hotel online I came across this traveluro I thought the price looked ok so I decided to book a room with them I put in my information and the hit confirm right after the confirmation I realize I did not change the original date they had up there right away I contacted the company these people are telling me that this room was booked with a no refund. No amendment policy which is bul$#*! I spend my hard earned money to set up a reservation and a small mistake as to change the date is a problem I can see. If I booked and a few day later I decided I don't want the room there is a reason for penalty but I just book the room and I call to make a small change I lose my money like you all are not human and cannot make mistake this ppl that made that policy will rot in hell you don't know how I struggle to make my money and u just taking it and lying to me saying they contacted the hotel. And the hotel deinied my request when I contacted the hotel the women told me to call bk the company and let them know that if they can over ride this and change the date every time I call they hanging up the phone in my face these people are out to hurt struggling individuals I have never heard that wen you pay your money for services you cannot amend it or make corrections scammmm and I will pray on your asses for taking my money talking about policy I was not looking at policy when I was booking I ask the number for corporate they won't give it I asked to speak to a manager they won't transfer the call tell me if that's not a scam I'm traveling today and these people won't fix the date for my hotel stay and keep sending me the same confirmation for a booking I don't need I am very disappointed
This is a fraudulent company and I advise people to be aware of them
Nothing yet I’m gona have to get a lawyer to get my money back but in the min time all my plans will be cancelled because of this
Traveluro is a SCAM! FRAUDULENT! THIEVES! As a THIRD party they had absolutely no problems taking my money for the room reservation. They sent me follow up emails, even one with a receipt. I showed up to the hotel only to find out that Traveluro never paid them for my room! Needless to say, the hotel was unable to provide the room that was not paid for. The manager at the desk stated that this is an issue that "I" would need call and follow up on as this is not their problem. After sitting in the lobby on hold for a lengthy time, the manager felt bad and attempted to call (Customer Service Phone Number) Traveluro while I was on listening to a recording at the same time but we were both left on eternal hold with no results! Traveluros customer service is a farce and a fraud! It is a recording with music that gives you fictitious updated times and caller placement number. Here is an example of the fraudulent updates I had to listen to while waiting over and hour for a customer service rep to even answer: *******798 I place the call at 5:04pm 5:04 caller 19 wait time is 12 min. 5:21 caller #7 wait time 6 minutes 5:38 caller #6 wait time 7 minutes 5:40 caller #5 wait time 8 minutes 5:44 caller #5 wait time 15 minutes 5:45 caller #5 wait time 16 minute 5:47 #4 wait time 17 minutes 5:50 wait time 20 minutes 5:51 wait time 28 minutes 5:54 caller #2 wait time 31 minutes 5:55 wait time 32 minutes 5:58 wait time 27 minutes 5:59 Caller #3 wait time 28 minutes 5:59 caller #3 wait time 29 minutes 6:00 caller #3 wait tome 35 minutes 6:01 wait time 42 minutes 6:04 caller #3 wait time 43 minutes 6:05 caller #3 wait time 38 minutes I was on hold for "1" hour and 20 minute before a customer service rep answered. Only to tell me that the issue will be been brought up to the "escalation team". When I asked why did this have to go to the "escalation team" when I've paid my money and all I need is for them to pay the hotel so I can have my room, she stated that they are "undermanned" and that they are doing their best. She stated she did not have the ability to help me with the issue. After waiting on the phone having no results for over 2 hrs sitting in the lobby of the hotel, I gave the front desk my credit card to waste no more time to facilitate getting my son and my self a room after having spent the whole day in the 100 degree sun. I told the customer service rep to make note that I have requested a FULL REFUND due to the claim of fraud, scam and theft. She explained that she would submit my request and that I should hear back within 24 hours.

They refused to give me a refund and only offered 10% off my next travel plans!
I just called splittytravel.com customer service contact number +1 *******991 and it says "we're sorry, your call can not completed at this time, please hang up and try your call again later". AGAIN, scam, fraud, theft!

My advice is to honestly steer clear of this 3rd party travel planner! They take no responsibility for their errors and have ZERO problems running off with your money offering ZERO refunds. You might get lucky with an insulting 10% off offer

I want to give NEGATIVE STAR.
The Company has no credibility and accountability.
On 8th February 2022, I booked "Madinah Movenpick Hotel" through Traveluro booking site. Immediately after booking, I realized the Hotel is little far from the Mosque. So, I called Traveluro Customer Care Center and explained the situation and requested to cancel the booking and refund the money.
On 9th February 2022, I called Traveluro Customer Care Center again and wanted to know the status of the request, The Customer Care Representative informed me that the booking is final and cannot be cancelled, and my request has been declined. Then I requested the Representative to send me a confirmation via email.
I have also made a request through Traveluro Website to send me a confirmation from Traveluro as well as from the Hotel. In response, Traveluro confirmed and confirmed and guaranteed my booking.
On 19th March, I also called Traveluro Customer Care Center again to confirm. The Customer Care Representative informed me that Traveluro is guaranteeing the hotel booking.
On 21st March, Traveluro canceled my booking refereeing my cancellation request a month earlier. While confirming and guaranteeing several times over phone and through email, how come Traveluro cancel my booking just a day before of my travel date based on a request which they have already declined a month earlier?
