I have been using Travel Republic since 2011 1-3 times a year and have never had a problem with them and so easy to book and pay for. 2016 they emailed me to say they couldn't let us stay at the sol pelicanos as they were filming Benidorm and they made a mistake booking us in. They put us in the Melia which turned out to be 5 star luxury. They went over and above. Got refunded in full for our cancelled June holiday this year 2020 with no problem. Have booked up for 26 February 2021. Fingers crossed. Marcus.

Absolutely diabolical service - I arrived at the hotel to find the accommodation was not paid for and the hotel chain has had such a bad experience with the accommodation supplier (who I believe is owned by the same group as TR) that they asked me to pay for the accommodation again. This is despite yourselves having taken the money from myself 1 month earlier. Fortunately i was able to cover the hotel bill with my credit card but not everybody may be able to do that. It was a 4 day stay and Travel Republic finally paid on the 4th day

Do not book with this company.
I had a holiday cancelled in november last year. I did not cancel it the airline who cancelled the flight. Travel republic refuses to refund my money. Contacted abta who advised me to use arbitration but this will cost me even more. Travel republic are a disgrace. They have my refund from british airways but refuse to give it to me. Con artists book with them at your own risk. Can not give it a zero star.

I canceled my holiday with travel republic before the lockdown because of my wife's health issues at a cost of £40 I had already paid £103 I was patiently waiting for a return of £63 when they took £373 from my account and are refusing to give me a refund on the grounds that it was the cost of the flights if they had read the email I sent I would not have claim the refund. WHAT A RIP OFF CONPANY. Think twice before you book.

Raised a case ( option contact me urgently) while I was in my Christmas holiday, no one got back to me until check out. I even Had to call the police at the hotel to sort 1 of the issues with this hotel. Then I had to open dispute when I came back and have been told that they will get back to me Within 28 days, it's now more than 2 month being ignored with no update. Tried to contact travel republic through messenger, every time they tell me that a reminder is been sent to customer service! Been left on phone call more than 40min to be told that will get back to me by email and still nothing been sorted! Will escalate it to ABTA if it's not sorted out very SOON.

Still awaiting refund from 28th March of £5600! Does this company actually care about its customers? Have taken the decision of taking Travel Republic to the small claims court. Might seem excessive but they obviously have no principals or morals

So we should be on a plane now on the way to Eurodisney after getting up at 2am to travel to Bristol Airport. We arrived only to be told that there are no flights to paris today.
Seriously unbelievable that Travel Republic did not contact us to tell us our flights had been cancelled. My two children are absolutely distraught. Really sad that what was a reputable company really cannot do better. I fully appreciate that the situation must be extremely difficult for them but to not care about their customers when children are involved is just awful.
Like others have stated, there is no one answering calls or responding to emails, but I see they've had time to update their Facebook page with useless information. I cannot believe how badly they are letting customers down.

Tried to book a package holiday with Travel Republic today and the price quoted in the booking rose by £300 by the time I came to pay and when I questioned this with their service centre was told well it could be a computer glitch or the systems are slow at updating prices, DO NOT USE THEM

I've had a hotel booking to Turkey through Travel Republic for three years as we have been unable to go on holiday for the past 2 years due yo Covid. Yesterday I checked my booking as I do periodically and found that I could book the same hotel for the same dates in identical rooms for just over £50 cheaper. As such I rang up and spoke to a nice man who confirmed the new price and said he could change it and I would shortly receive a confirmation email. However, no email arrived and when I checked today it said it was still processing. As such I rang again. This time I was told the price had gone up over £70 and I needed to pay the new price. I explained my phone call yesterday and told the man that I was not happy that I was being told I now needed to pay over £20 more than the original price because that booking had been cancelled and how their website was still showing the lowest price. I was told very rudely that my options were to cancel or pay new amount. I explained I did not want to cancel but again did not feel it fair that I should pay a new even higher amount especially when the website still had the old amount and how this was false advertising but he then told me we were going round in circles and put the phone down on me. He then had the audacity to cancel my booking despite me specifically saying I did not want that to happen. As such I am disgusting by their attitude and advise anyone NOT to use them unless you don't mind them changing your booking making it more expensive and then cancelling it!

Have tried to book a flight and hotel. Money has been taken from account straight away. Then in 2 days time agent from travel republic contacted us that our booking cannot be confirmed as room not available. Although on official hotel website there is a room. They advised that we can pay £600 more or as our room was refundable to refund. Interesting, if we had no refunded, would they just keep our money. 1st time booked with this company and very very dissipated. Will never recommend this company. As of not our fault professionals should just accept amount we paid and re-locate at their own cost. As not our fault that they are inferring something on their website where they don't have availability.

If I were able to score a minus that would indicate how I feel about this company. Booked in January for a trip to Italy a few days ago. I was thinking of cancelling and contacted them in August several times via phone but no response. I messaged them as directed and it took them almost 4 weeks, (ironically a few days before my flight), to respond to the SEVERAL messages I had left. Therefore, left no option but to travel otherwise lose a considerable amount of money. There were other incidents that occurred with this agency which I am now looking into being recompensed for i. E. I didn't get what I paid for, plus they cancelled my accommodation and return flight a day into my stay.
I am not sure how this company is continuing to operate, their customer service is NON EXISTENT and their whole ethos seems to be to scam their customers. NEVER EVER will I book with these people again (if they're still in existence in months to come) and I urge others to think VERY CAREFULLY before doing the same. Absolutely appalling!

I bought a tour from them for three people, two were accepted into the hotel, one was refused. The money was not returned, they are scammers. Avoid them.

Booked a holiday for 21days in Tenerife, flight was changed twice with Ryanair, could not get in touch with them, I got in touch with the hotel they said It was ok to change the dates, still no one answering me, it came to my date to pay final balance, so I tried ringing the hotel, they were closed, found out they had let Travel republic know, I got no email,, lucky I cancelled my card, but because Ryanair had changed my flight, they will not give me a refund, so they are just has bad.
Also we was in Tenerife in March, when the lock down came, left to find our own way home, Ryanair and Travel republic again, and we are still trying to get our money back.
DON'T USE BOTH OF THESE.

If I could put zero stars, I would!

Our trip was a disaster from the start.
1. The flights changed to a different airline and an earlier departure. We were not told and missed our flight.
2. We had to spend £175 out of our tight budget on food and drink for our family of 4 at the temporary accommodation we were put in. We were supposed to be heading to an all inclusive hotel so had not budgeted for this. £125 compensation promised but not received.
3. Landed in Antalya, transfers had not been changed. Another £80 out of our budget. We were promised we would get it back, still have not received it.
4. Got to the hotel. Website stated it's English speaking. It's all Russian and Polish. Not even the staff speak English. Entertainment is in Russian, Polish and Turkish.
5. Olivia Stead, our travel rep was rude and then plain ignorant by ignoring all emails.
6. Transfer back to airport was not changed to match new return flight. We missed it. Had to organise it ourselves.
7. Our luggage, which we had already paid £110 for was not added to our new flight. We had to pay 270 euros to bring it back.
8. All emails have been ignored and no promised compensation or refunds have been issued.

Travel Republic destroyed our holiday. It was the holiday from hell and not one single person there, especially Olivia Stead, cares. Our sons were devastated because we could not afford the promised excursions and being stuck in a hotel they could not enjoy due to the language barrier made it worse and we were all stressed beyond belief.
Getting home was the best part of our entire trip.

I will avoid this company like the plague and would recommend everyone else do the same.

Don't do it, for the love of God, just steer clear of Travel Republic.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
Do yourself a favor and read all the negative comments before booking with these SCAMMERS! You will see how many cases of fraud there are.
I booked a holiday for New York on
The 15th of September. I paid the booking fee, almost 200£. A few hours later I found out it will take a few months to sort my Visa out so I contacted them to cancel the holiday. They said they will only cancel my booking if I pay more than 900£ for flights I'm never going to use and that are booked more than 3 months from now.
Before I booked the holiday, my husband called them to ask details about the booking fee, if it is refundable or not and what money do we lose in case of cancellation. The person he spoke to said that we lose the deposit, never mentioned that we have to pay for the flights in full.
When we received confirmation for the booking, not once was it mentioned that payment of the deposit means we agree to pay for the flights in full in case of cancellation.
They are lying and twisting words in their favor although nowhere in their terms and conditions is it ever mentioned that payment of the booking fee means acceptance of payment of flights in case of cancellation.
Since then I've been in contact with them several times regarding the cancellation of my holiday. They kept refusing to cancel and insisted I have to pay the flights although they haven't actually gave me any proof to why I have to do that. They also completely ignored everything I said.
I refused every time.
I've send two complaints and in two months I never heard back from them and now they have my information to a credit company? So I can be bullied out of my money.
This is how they operate, by lying, deceiving, giving false information and now bullying.
Avoid at all cost!

Tip for consumers:
Don't. Use another company! They will scam you out of your money. They are also poorly regulated and they are permitted to continue their fraudulent behaviour.

I had a holiday booked to Southern Palm, Diani, Kenya in December 2023. Unfortunately had a very close relative who was unwell and eventually passed away so we could not do this holiday. As I cancelled this on the day I was travelling, Travel Republic are refusing to refund or give me a voucher. I know for a fact that Southern Palm hasnt been paid for this. Travel Republic claim that Yalago have billed them full and are refusing to refund. Yalago are a group Company to Travel Republic. You go through a bereavement and Travvel Republic skin you alive afterwards.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. ADVERTISES ROOMS THEY DONT HAVE AND TAKE YOUR MONEY IMMEDIATELY.

THEY THEN TRY AND SELL YOU AN ATERNATIVE ROOM AT A HIGHER RATE OR A DIFFERENT HOTEL.

THEIR REFUND POLICY TAKES 3-5 DAYS SO IF YOU ARE BOOKING A LAST MINUTE TRIP, YOU ARE COMPLETELY TRAPPED AS MAY NOT HAVE FUNDS TO WAIT FOR A REFUND AND BOOK WITH A RESPECTABLE COMPANY

THEY CAN EASILY CHECK THE AVAILABILITY BEFORE THEY TAKE YOU MONEY BUT THEY CYNICALLY DONT.

Weekend booking made on 21 March 2019 in Calabria from 27 to 30 June 2019 at Hotel delle Stelle - Sangineto (CS).
Reservation confirmed for more than a month and then CANCELED office on May 14,2019, without my consent, as the customer service informed me that the price purchased (in EUR) was not for Italians but only for residents in the UK. "WHAT YOU NEVER VIEW". The problem of the low price purchased (270), according to them, was put forward by their local agency to which they refer for reservations in Calabria (Meeting Point Italia - Tropea (VV) which does NOT have accepted the price too low 270 but they asked me, as a citizen residing in Italy, the new price of 392. PAY ATTENTION that the bookings through this site are NOT reliable, because if the agreed price, is OK for them then OK, but if it is too low, they only create problems and cancel your office booking, even without your consent. They reimburse, but in the meantime, after 1 month and a half, they create the damage anyway.
Beware as the TRAVELREPUBLIC.IT site does NOT exist anymore and also the customer service number *******634 no longer answers anyone, they agree incorrect prices with local partners justifying that they are only for UK residents.

We had issues throughout our stay including allocated room, cockroaches, air conditioning leaked all over our room all week, filthy sagging mattresses. Complained on our return and travel republic denied all knowledge. Don't waste your money. Cowboy firm

If you have any kind of problem they don't want to know!
I booked transfers with them, they use a company called A2B transfers who are terrible do not turn up and you are left making your own way to airport!
Travel Republic are not interested!
I will never use this company

X13 of us went & were amazed that ONLY =- X 6 others were staying inTHE HOTEL WHICH HAS OVER X300 beds. IT WAS COLD THE FOOD WAS GENERALLY POORAS THEY WERE TRYING TO ECONOMISE. THE STAFF HAD BLANKETS OVER THEIR SHOULDERS IN RECEPTION & DINING ROOM. OTHER AREAS WERE TOO COLD DESPITE OUR COMPLAINING. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL.

Booked holiday for me and autistic child with travel republic. Not only did they place is in a dirty, extremely noisy hotel on return flight when for to airport it was cancelled by easyjet indefinitely. With very little money left in own account I had to dip into child's savings for another flight £324 to get us home. When tried to claim cancelled flight and other flights money back from travel republic they have refused to assist me in any way, shape or form. I would tell anyone DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Be careful when booking with this company, They have terms and conditions that are not made clear at the time of booking. Recently I placed a deposit on accommodation. A deposit is normally taken to be a monies paid down and you lose that deposit if you fail to fulfill your side of the contract by the date outlined. The term deposit is misleading. You will in fact be charge 40 euro or more if you wish to cancel your booking. I was cancelling a booking a two months in advance. I have been a customer of Travel Republic for some time and have recommended it to others. The have changed their terms of business. I will now be using a company whose terms are way clearer. It is very disappointing.

First of all, I was checking the bookings on a hotel from a different website then they told me it was sold out, then I found TravelRepublic and saw that they apparently had rooms left. So I went ahead and made my booking, fully paid, downloaded the app, gave them all my information etc to get as smooth booking as possible.
Then since they didnt give much information about the room I wanted to book I wanted just a simple question to be answered, "how big is the room in square meters" (as we are 3 adults in the same room and the hotel has either a 45 square meter room or a 71 square meter room. So we wanted to know which type of room we booked as there was no information about this at the booking.

I went ahead and tried to call their line in the UK, was in the queue for over 1 hour and 10 minutes and got kicked out of the queue? With the incredible cost per minute of 0,6 per minute. Which cost me 42. Amazing. It doesnt stop there...

I went ahead and messaged them on facebook instead since there was supposed to send me another confirmation e-mail to me which i'd had to respond to within 12 hours of the booking which was about to pass the 12 hour mark. I didn't even get a confirmation email so i was destined to not complete my booking and having to wait 3-9 bank days for parts of my money to come back to my bank account.
I just got a simple answer "there is a queue system that's going by your booking date, thank you for your patience" like what the f***? How ever they did make a costumer support request.
Which took them freaking 24 hours to respond to! And of course in between loads of excuses from their facebook employees, like we will send you an update as soon as we got a confirmation from the hotell, like if i really wanted to I could ask them myself but now my issue was not about how big the room was, but what they will do about this 12 hour confirmation timeline that I was given after the booking? I asked them this multiple times and I get this answer.
"Please do not worry, some bookings can take longer than others to confirm."
How the hell does it take so long time to confirm something when you can instantly withdraw my money from my bank account?

So what was my final answer that I got that made me give this rating?
I got the answer
"We have been notified by your hotel provider, GTA, that the room you have requested is not available. Availability has changed while you were submitting your booking details as providers work on a live system."
GUESS WHAT? NOW WHEN I CHECK THE SITE AGAIN I CAN ACTUALLY "BOOK" THE SAME ROOM AGAIN!? Amazing, scam artists.

Its actually soo much more I could add to this website but its not worth more of my time. I'll just copy and paste this to every review site of Travel Republic so others wont get scammed as I got scammed.

Tip for consumers:
Dont use this site, they are trying to sell overbooked rooms and then to pay you back -10£. which becomes their proffit. Also takes 20-30 hours for them to respond to the most simplest question. example if there is a TV in the room or not. also it will take about 3-9 days for some of your money back.

NOT WORTH IT!!! EVEN IF YOU GET A "BETTER DEAL" rather pay 50$ extra to just skip all this bullcrap!

I recently had a problem booking a hotel through Travelrepublic.co.uk. In the age of booking hotels direct via the internet, this is a scam which is becoming more and more used by unscrupulous hotels and booking sites.

I'd booked and paid for 3 rooms for 3 nights at The Senacki Hotel in Krakow two months in advance through Travelrepublic.co.uk. Five days before we were due to travel, Travel Republic advised us that 'due to an overbooking they were relocating us to the Kossak Hotel'. This is a sister hotel to the Senacki and is claimed to be a 4* and of a similar standard but it is not. Perhaps it was 20 years ago, now it's a tired and ugly 3* at best and located 10-15 minute walk away from the town centre and the hotel we had originally booked, consequently it's 15-20% cheaper then the Senacki Hotel.

Travelrepublic were of course very sorry and if we wanted to cancel we could have a full refund. But as we had also booked and paid for our return flights, airport taxis and Krakow tours this wasn't as easy as it sounds. We did check other hotel options but we couldn't find any that had 3 rooms on the dates we were traveling.

Travelrepublic completely abdicated any responsibility saying it wasn't their fault and there was nothing they could do. Neither they, nor the hotel, offered any price reduction or compensation. We were simply left with a 'take it or leave it' attitude.

I am a frequent traveller who has been using the internet for booking hotels around the world for years. This is the first time l have personally encountered this kind of problem, however I have noticed a number of fellow travellers reporting similar experiences on Tripadvisor.com.

It's a simple scam for a hotel and/or a booking agency to allow over booking at a good hotel then days before travelling advise customers that 'due to an overbooking' they were been relocated to a cheaper hotel. Yes, of course, they could cancel and receive a full refund, but for all independent travellers they would have already bought and paid for their flights and would not have the option to cancel these without incurring quite a substantial penalty. Therefore, with only days before travelling, what options would you have other then to accept the change offered.

Beware fellow travellers!

Booked an hotel whith travelrepublic.co.uk in October when I got to hotel they had no room for me and told me to come back next day. Found my own hotel in the end when I got back home complained to travelrepublic you can only do this by email, but i am getting nowhere after two months.

Would never use this site again and would never recommend them to any one.
