Not only are items WAY overvalued the clock doesn't stop on the tournament if there's a last second change in the leader. That's right! So it's s game of chicken of who wants to max out their credit card on coupons to win an item for "free"

When it says win 100 coupons for taking the lead in a tournament... you should get your coupons when you take the lead... not be told you had to win the tournament!

Since you changed the game, whenever a question comes up all I get is a spinning wheel and I can never answer a question. Or if I answer a question it tells me I was too late and didn't answer the question.
How can I fix this?

Total trivia used to be so much fun, and you'd actually have a chance trip win items for free. Now, there's no way. Please do your research before spending money on this. They constantly have "ticket sales", so just know whatever you buy today will be obsolete within a week. I would love if they're change it back to how it used to be.

Twice I have almost won and then the clock resets and I either have to give up or keep paying money to continue. I "almost " won twice (once a gift card and the other time luggage) and then in the last minute the clock resets. After paying cash to continue playing I tried to continue, but both times I lost by less than 100 points. After $100+ dollars and only winning $70 dollars worth of merchandise I gave up and consider it a scam.

This is an Honest review:
This is pretty much just a version of penny auctions, you dont win anything for free. You have to buy coupons in order to continue playing trivia to get your points higher than the other competitors. And when the auction is nearing the end it takes an insane amount of coupons to continue playing trivia so you find yourself having to buy more and more coupons in order to beat the other competitors. Hats off to total trivia though, they sure know how to make it look like people are winning things for free.

TotalTrivia T. – Total Trivia Rep

Hello John,
Thanks for taking the time to provide your honest feedback for us! You are able to play Total Trivia for free up until around 6,000 points- after this you can earn and purchase discount coupons to play in the tournaments to win the item for free! There are plenty of ways to earn discount coupons for free as well like referring your friends, and participating in the Daily Challenge everyday! Please email us at support@totaltrivia.com if you have any questions or comments :)

I used to love this app. But it seems like it has been taken over by greedy people or possibly even fake accounts. I haven't been able to win anything despite having multiple thousand tickets saved up. Not worth my time or the space on my phone anymore.

You can win but may not receive the items. I won 3 rings but has not been shipped yet. 29 days and still counting... waiting for the items that I won. Don't wast your money.

Plan on spending a good sum of money. Gave it a try. Shame of it is that they turn the end of the auction into overtime forcing ppl to use enormous amounts of their "discount" tickets trying to win over priced merchandise. Check their prices against other sites like Amazon before you decide how much you are willing to waste. When they want 120 tickets near the end that's equal to $6.00 a bid. Might as well put it in a slot machine. Already hard core penny auction gurus on the site that do this for a living. This must be a new twist on penny auctions. Check out deal dash and you will find the exact same merchandise. Played on deal dash years ago but they got away from offering useful merchandise. Now its nothing but over priced furniture and art most aren't interested in having.

TotalTrivia T. – Total Trivia Rep

Hi Nancy, thanks for your review and for your feedback. We tested tournaments internally without overtime before launching, and found that everyone waited until the last few minutes to squeeze in rounds of trivia. The result was that the winner was not chosen by merit, but by chance. Overtime keeps the tournaments fair and merit-based. We'll be adding loads more tournaments in the near future with new merchandise and more opportunity for the regular shopper to win great deals. If you need anything at all, please reach us on support@totaltrivia.com

Edit: after I wrote my original review, the rules of the game changed from earning a discount if you didn't win the item for free to not getting anything at all but the winner has the option to exchange the item for more discount coupons. Since the change, multiple "big hitter" players have come out of the woodwork and have exploited this option, dominating the tournaments and exchanging their wins for more coupons so they can keep winning over and over. This leaves any one else who actually want the items they're playing for SOL since they have no chance in hell beating someone who's accumulated 10's of thousands of coupons. There are around 15 different players doing this and they play at all hours of the day and night. The Total Trivia developers are aware of this and have told several complainers that they're working to remedy this problem so that the game is fair for everyone. Until then, I'm putting my playing on hold. There's no sense in spending real money and earned coupons if I'm going to lose them all to these unfair players. Changed to a 2 star review since the app is essentially unplayable until they change the rules again to make it fair for all.

Original review: I've won 3 times in 2 weeks without spending a dime out of pocket. It takes time, patience and carefully choosing which tournaments to play in. Play the challenges and save up coupons to help you win. Again it takes time and patience but it is doable. I did spend some money to win some big ticket items but really it's not necessary. The game is fun, the questions are multiple choice, the prizes are of good quality and the shipping is extremely fast. Originally gave game 4 stars****

TotalTrivia T. – Total Trivia Rep

Hi Emi L, thanks for the updated review. I am sorry that you experienced this. You are correct, when we changed the rules to a Discount Coupon Guarantee, it did create some 'big hitters'. We know it has been frustrating playing against these players lately. But we have since implemented changes and will implement more, which will still reward winners but gives everyone a fair chance of winning.

It starts off as a free game to play. Then after you get 20,000 points you have to pay for credits to play. Then as the game continues the cost of credits per play goes up. Oh and just as you think you are going to win they post a message that any lead change under 3 minutes resets the timer to 3 minutes. Looks an awful lot like BeeZid or those penny auction sites. I will not be playing this again.

TotalTrivia T. – Total Trivia Rep

Hi Dusty, although the tournament prizes are heavily subsidized by the brand sponsors, we're unable to give everyone free items all the time. We have to collect revenue from discount coupons, but the average Total Trivia shopper is still able to get significantly better deals compared to the lowest online prices! Remember that any money you spend counts towards a discount on that item even if you are not the winner. The rules of the tournaments are designed so we can offer the most value possible, while keeping things fair. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach us any time at support@totaltrivia.com

I tried out Total Trivia for the first time yesterday. I love knowledge and all sorts of trivia and according to some of the reviews, the games can be played for free and it's possible to win various great items. Well, that is not true. Even though I almost always was able to answer every single question (there are 5 for each play, worth 200 points each) there always came a point where I would have had to buy "discount coupons" before I could continue playing my way to #1 (supposedly you win the item for free when you reach #1. Not sure it that is true as I got to #1 on one item and there was some time left for others to continue to play; you cannot keep playing once you reach #1 to get to a higher score and thus to make it more difficult for others to catch up. Therefore, others can reach number one, at which point I was prompted again to buy discount coupons, and I refuse to spend money on this site!). Also, there is a way to buy points ("express" something.) which to me defeats the whole purpose of winning a trivia game. There's no one just to play and win using one's own knowledge

Tip for consumers:
Beware! This site is NOT free and you will never be able to win anything without paying for something.

Hi Susan, the way to play into the later rounds is to earn free discount coupons via the daily challenges which are available to all shoppers on Total Trivia. These should appear each day on the screen when you first login to the site or app. That is how many shoppers are able to win tournaments without spending money. Let us know at support@totaltrivia.com if you need any help with this feature.

I had a good strategy in this game. It was to use a booster then fast track. It was fairly cheap in tickets to use. But they changed it and now it is super expensive to do. It is now more difficult to actually get things if you start now. I don't recommend starting to play it now. But it would be nice if they fixed this update.

Hi Tajis, thanks for letting us know. It sounds like the timer on your device may not have been accurately in sync with the tournament - this can happen on rare occasions due to less-than-perfect internet connections. Anyway, I have added the 250 discount coupons back to your account. There is way too much over bidding going on, people are bidding more than what the item is worth. Totally ridiculous! Also, you took away the jump ahead option.

At first i was really excited about this site and the app that i downloaded, but was kinda bummed to see that to actually win anything. Even the smallest of things like a beanie for instance you HAVE to pay actual money and fight tooth and nail for it. So imagine something like a 55" 4k tv... Also you should be able to pay with maybe gift cards or something. For people who dont want to share their credit card information i. E. me. Or for people who just dont have one.

It is fun overall, but unless you already have money. I dont think this is quite fair. I did want to get my family some presents because i cant afford too much and this just bummed me out.

They kind of lead you on at first not revealing the cost of the bids after the first few. For this reason I would not recommend it. Some people might like it. All you can do is try it and judge for yourself.
