“They love the SALE but fall; short on service & accessories”

I've been a Telus customer for decades and a client of Tom Harris Cellular for just under 5 years. I use the SONIM product line and currently I'm using My fourth device, a preferred unit which, it is an "old school" super heavy duty FLIP PHONE.It shock proof, mostly water proof and has a 3 year unconditional warranty.It has an ACHILLES TENDON though.The USB "door" to charging system, loses it's strength after it's opened around a hundred times, and falls off, allowing moisture into the unit.The phone has a two point charging adapter on the back of the phone, so it can sit in a charging bed, alleviating the issue with the USB plug-in system, which really should only be used in emergencies or on commercial airliners and such, when it's NOT convenient to use the desk top charging unit. But TOM HARRIS refuses to actually handle and sell the needed accessories that SONIM phones NEED to work efficiently. Years ago Premier of Alberta Ralph Klein made a Law that basically stopped Third World farm equipment to be dumping their crap in Alberta, unless the manufacturer provided full parts and service facilities. Belarus Tractors come to mind, on that one. I'm "old school"... I'm a retired and disabled, veteran. I still use a FLIP PHONE because I'm NOT very high tech literate. I don't have PAY PAL, NOR have I ever shopped ON-LINE for anything. That is why I've always CHOSEN to shop at Dealerships, over BIG BLOCK stores and the Inter-web. That why i USED to shop at Tom Harris Celular. NEVER AGAIN... The Local Parksville shop actually recommended that I go shop at Best BUY in Nanaimo, to try to find accessories for My phone, which I did, by the way, unsuccessfully. How can a company represent a line of ANYTHING a not provide full parts & service?... regardless where the parts and accessories are manufactured.The local Tom Harris stores spend a lot of time and energy outfitting ALL the SMART PHONE (sic)BUYERS with shock proof cases & other accessories and extended warranties. I brought My issues up with their Head Office in Victoria and they just passed the buck, on Me.One operator testified "Hey man, I just work here" and I replied "I'm the customer"... A woman, Western Canada Sales Manager did finally phone Me after a plethora of phone call... the result being that "If I paid over DOUBLE the list price.". IN ADVANCE"... They would bring a desktop charger in for Me ( unfortunately the unit would be on back order for 6 -8 weeks and they couldn't confirm an actual delivery date)... and that 's when I decided to start writing negative reviews, on their performance... or lack there of. They have NEVER replied to their ONE STAR rating I sent to their Head Office Web Site... they DON'T really care about just one old man, trying to get by, in this fast paced, dog eat dog World. Ps Met a couple of Tom Harris employees who bragged about going on ALL expense paid trips to Scottsdale Arizona...'wish they'd treat their customers as well.

I purchased a phone case, they charged me $20 more than the advertised price, I told them to cancel the order as I was not paying the extra price. They charged my credit card, but never sent me the phone case. I have attempted to contact them 5 times in the 3 months since and they have not responded at all. I am now forced to dispute the charge through my Credit card Company. Thoroughly disgusted with their customer service!

Tip for consumers:
That they don't value the customer enough to fix any issues that might arise

I just spent an hour calling 4 tom Harris cellular office trying to buy a new blackberry priva phone. They are the main dealer for telus. I called and called all of them and not one answered my calls. So finally i left a message to return my call. The next day one girl called back and told me none of there centers stock the blackberry priva it is special order only. The phones have great reviews and the best buys tell me they have trouble keeping them in stock. I believe that in the phone world when someone needs a phone they go in and buy it. Who is going to wait a week for you to order it? BLACKBERRY IS CANADA PEOPLE!
