Great selection of seeds. I really like the way the seed descriptions include a lot of information, including what climate seeds are intended for. I live on Texas gulf coast and I buy the seeds that grow well in hot and humid conditions. Customer service is great. I failed to put my street name on my recent order so, of course, I did not receive the seeds. I contacted Gary at Tomato Fest and found out that I had not put my street name on my order. He is sending replacing seeds for free.
Purchased seeds before reading these reviews. Hope my seeds germinate. I was charged $3.95 shipping only to receive my seeds in a regular #10 envelope with one two ounce stamp (78¢ of postage). Feeling ripped off I wrote to Gary. I received a reply after one week. He sent " Please be aware that our shipping cost is a shipping & handling cost as stated on our website check out." which was untrue when I looked at my original invoice it said Shipping $3.95 BUT suddenly now when I look at my online invoice it shows "shipping & handling $3.95" the old switcharoo! He stated they are a 2 person business, have to drive 5 miles each way to Post Office and stand in the line at the post office for all their seed orders. If they actually did that, my envelope would have had a USPS printed postage, not a solitary two ounce stamp (78¢). If their business is making excuses to why they have to make a profit on shipping, that business plan needs some rethinking. Sorry Gary, but your shipping and "handling" costs, lost you this customer. Hope you can start charging actual shipping cost, which does not include your "standing in line charge". This is 2022, online shipping options are available to anyone with a website and internet access …. Which you do seem to have both.
Tomato seed were delivered in regular mail envelope. Could be any thermal treatment? IDK. Only one paste tomato has 50% rate of germination. KY Beefsteak - planted 18 seed, got 1 (one) plant. Giant Oxheart and Anna Russian couple of germinated, but appear sick. All seeds were planted 3 in one cell. Even your "free" Favorite - got two plants. Seeds are different variety of shape and size in each envelope. Now I am not sure what kind plants will grow from germinated seeds! Compare with my own seeds - germination rate is 100%.

seed for tomato garden
After successfully germinating 80 seeds from packets purchased at local store i came across the dwarf variety at TomatoFest and wanted to try them. Wrote them an email because I was having trouble ordering from their website and they responded right away that I had to order at least $20 so I did. It took 10 days to get the seeds and after trying to germinate them according to their directions not one single seed germinated of the 100 seeds. I emailed them again and they never responded. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THEM!
All five of the tomato seeds that I ordered for 2021 had very poor germination rates. Will shop elsewhere.

I have been growing tomatoes from seeds for many years and this year, I wanted to try my hand at these heirloom varieties. I bought several packs of seeds and planted according to the instructions that came with my order. I planted approximately 80 seeds, in 2 separate plantings, hoping I would get at least 10-20 good, healthy plants. Unfortunately, after a month of waiting, not one seed has germinated. I purchased a packet of regular tomato seeds from a local nursery and planted them along with the seeds from Tomato Fest, using the same type of growing medium, same conditions, etc. and out of a packet of about 20 seeds, I now have 12 plants growing. I am so disappointed that none of the heirloom seeds germinated. I will not purchase from them again.
I have been growing tomatoes from seed for over fifty years in three different states / six different sites. **NEVER** have I had such poor germination rates. This is my 'farming' grandson's third season. I wanted a wide selection of cherry types for pickling this year and based on a referral from a commercial source I thought reliable, I used Tomatofest. Shoulda stayed with Johnny's Select, from whom I've bought for decades, including one type this year. I shared my seeds w/ my grandson, then started them, along with a large amount of seed saved from 2020. 95+% of the seeds from Johnny's & saved varieties germinated. Depending on the variety, 0% to 40% of the Tomatofest seeds germinated. Using different soil at a different time, my grandson's experience mirrored mine. Others' experience may be different and, from reviews, have been so in past, but if I could rate this company's product in negative numbers, I would. I will never buy from them again and would use the cheapest feed store generic in preference.
Tip for consumers:
That the seeds were garbage.

I found this site on google after looking for Rosella Purple tomato seeds. I ended up ordering other seeds as well and spent over $60. They sent me cherry tomato seeds instead of the 2 packs of Rosella Purple seeds I ordered. I have emailed them TWICE and have gotten NO RESPONSE. BUY ELSEWHERE!
Don't waste your money! Want money back. Not one seed grew. Wasted time and money on this company!

I have been growing heirlooms for 30 years sourced from Seeds of Change, Johnny's and Gary. This year's crop was the worst. The order included the varieties below. Clearly these had not been field tested for the seed origins. It may be heat issues, soil depletion etc. but the coyotes were thick skinned and acid, the Mortgage Lifter, less proliferate than in years past and the others were marginal. In short, a horrendous season. Gary does not answer emails and thus this review. I have switched providers.
TF-0126 Coyote - Organic Heirloom Tomato Seeds
TF-0325 Mortgage Lifter, Red - Organic Heirloom Tomato Seeds
TF-0326 Mortgage Lifter, Yellow - Organic Heirloom Tomato Seeds
TF-0065 Black Prince - Organic Heirloom Tomato Seeds
TF-0018 Amy's Sugar Gem -Organic Heirloom Tomato Seeds
I ordered 4 tomato varieties in june 2022. Everything came fine. Started seeds as i always do in jiffy seed mix without heat mat, they germinated within 3 or 4 days. I put 2 or 4 seeds in one cell. Tgey all germinated. I dont know what everyone problem is here. I also buy seeds from several other vendors and at lowe's. Seeds from lowe's usually have much lower germination rate. In may 2023 i purchased seeds from tomato fest again. And they germinated within a week, all of them. Also company pays for non machineable surcharge but my envelope was run through a machine so if you think your seeds got damaged during shipment I would not blame an owner for it but the post office. Overall i had only great expirience from tomato fest. Nobody else gives you extra seeds and a free additional tomato variety that you did not order!

Our family has purchased from TomatoFest for years. We love to try unique tomato varieties, especially the deep rich harmony fruits. Shipping is quick, the website is very easy to use and varieties are categorized nicely. Fresh seeds, germination rates are very good.
