Living in Japan for almost ten years have our family a very intimate familiarity of Japan and the culture. Each box send is the best treats Japan offers, including the seasonal products. It's warms our heart to have some real Japan deceivers to our door with the same heartfelt care and attention to detail we have come to expect.
The Lane Family.
They took my money and refuse to ship boxes I paid for because I tried to get a refund from my credit card company after they renewed my subscription at a price I didn't agree to, without any warning, and with completely useless robot outsourced help.
Again, to be clear, they have $360 of my money, and have shipped me only two boxes from it. They sent documents I never saw to my credit card company to induce them to not issue a refund either.
There is alwayts a wide variety of snacks straight from Japan. The customer service is great too. You also end up learning quite a bit about Japanese culture if that is something you are interested in. This month's package is themed around the Happy Girl's Day holiday celebrated in Japan on the 3rd of March.
Fast shipping w/ DHL is a bonus. Less chance of chocolate melting, and less people handling it which is a good thing in a pandemic.
Treats contained within have a decent variety. Loving the Kitkats especially. Only issue I have is the handful of smaller candies in each box. Though it is understandable, as you can only fit so much in there without crushing something.
I love all the different and unique treats that you can't find here in the states. If you don't opt for the extra $10.95 for the DHL shipping, you'll wait a long while to get your box from USPS. But with the DHL shipping, you get your box in like 4 days!
Please read the fine print. They do autorenewal no matter what and they do not alert you to the time being up. When this happens you will be charged. I had bought a 6 month subscription as a gift, we enjoyed the boxes but then we were billed thinking out trial had ended. I reached out to Tokyo treats and they did not attempt to return any money or any of the upcoming packages, even though nothing has shipped yet for the first set of the next 6 months. They do not express any wiggle room and were not willing to return any of the money spent.
This is a great service if your wanting authentic snacks from japan. Each box usually contains a good assortment of snacks, including a few high end snacks. You can choose the cheaper classic box or the more expensive premium box. I think its worth it just to pony up and go premium. I currently have the classic subscription and while its perfectly fine, I miss out on a lot of kit kats and premium items. The service is a little pricey but its worth it to get that box in the mail every month. Also be aware shipping is 11$ per box. Their website is very intuitive and its easy to upgrade, downgrade, or prepay subscriptions. Overall, I am very pleased with the service and the snacks they send me.
Everything about this was perfect expect for shipping, they shipped it to the wrong address so I had to talk with them to fix it but other than that everything was perfect. Everything was delicious and was amazing
Quick delivery and a great variety of treats! We've been doing toykotreat snack boxes for over 6 months and we always look forward to getting out new box. We get a notice when it ships and always receive it within a week which is pretty quick for international shipping! Our box always has the listed treats with a helpful guidebook as to what each snack is. We love to try them and share fun Japanese snacks with our kids!
You get full sized items of real Japanese treats and snacks! They're way bigger and way more than I expected. I love that there's always a drink in the premium box as well to really get a spectrum of all the flavors that are popular in Japan. And that we can never get any of these flavors outside Japan
I've known about Tokyo Treat for a while now, bht I finally decided to give it a try. I bought the 3-month subscription, and I got the first second box one day after the first. I'm going to keep getting more boxes, and I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes japan or candy!
Love love love! My candies arrived as if they were freshly picked up from the market! They were not melted nor damaged in any way! They have unbeatable prices with a lot of goodies stored in each box! Must have!
Monthly snack boxes from Japan, what more can I say. Although we cannot travel at this time, we can still enjoy snacks from Japan at our own homes. These snack boxes have a diverse selection of snacks and candies each month for you to try: a FULL size bag of Kitkats and a drink. I think you'll get a good value from this subscription box and be able to try out different Japanese snacks. Well worth!
I received my first box recently on a 1 month subscription just to test it out, as I wanted to try out a few Japanese snack boxes. TokyoTreat is definitely my favourite out of them all. It came way earlier than what I expected, and when I opened it, I was really surprised with how much was in there as it was packed so nicely. It's a little pricier, but if you can afford it I definitely recommend. It's so much fun to try all of the snacks and drink especially with friends, and I was surprised by the fact that I've found every snack so far really delicious. I'll be choosing to continue my TokyoTreat subscription. I really recommend it! Thank you!
I bought a subscription in March. I was waiting for two months to get the first box (just because of COVID delays). It was worth the wait. Products are very unique, you can get sweet, salty and spicy ones in the same box. They have also streak section, where subscribers can get rewards, coupons for next orders. After 6th and 12th streak you'll pay less for your boxes (I'm on my way :d) . By extending your subscription you're able to get bonus products in on of your boxes, I think it's cool. Support is very friendly and responding fast (even in pandemic crisis). Now, boxes are coming faster too. It takes 3 weeks to arrive to Poland. I love my journey with TokyoTreat!
I am a newcomer to this subscription box but i wanted to buy it for a long time now and now that i finally have my one regret is that i didn't do it sooner: 3! One can really tell that there is so much love and thought that goes into this box each month! Next to the awesome snacks there is a small magazine that tells you all about japanese tradition, where to visit as well as the snacks from this months. I even loved reading the snack reviews since it was so cute and aww so soft i loved that. And the tipps where to visit japan this month will go to my planning diary next time i plan holidays in japan. If you want to treat yourself or someone you like to something nice that will be a nice surprise every month and make you all fluffy and happy this is the box to go. As well as it being delicious and making your tummy happy it will also make your soul happy: 3
I've recieved 3 boxes from TokyoTreat so far and have loved each one! The variety is excellent, if you love Japan and food I highly recommend the box.
I did purchase insurance for a few extra dollars and do recommend it. One of my boxes was missing (which ended up being due to being held in border protection) and TokyoTreat refunded me for it since it did not arrive. It's an unfortunate situation but completely out of their control. They responded very quickly to my messages and issued my refund in a timely manner.
The first Box arrived with some delay because of ttye covid situation but now it is super fast, I received my new box only a week after payment and needless to say that the content is of course excellent! Very nice!
Tokyotreat lets me sample lots of unique treats that I can't always find at my local asian market. Whether the cost is worth it is debatable (especially when it's hard to resist nomming everything right away^w^), but I can't deny it brightens my day to come home from work and find a new box waiting for me.
I received this as a birthday gift, and as a lover of Japanese snacks I was amazed to see all kinds of goodies I've never heard of before! From a range of savory and sweet there's a little bit of everything I could imagine. I would definitely get this again in the future!
Answer: It is one of the worst ones out there. If anything goes wrong they refuse any sort of customer service. No refunds, no placements even if the box never arrives.
Answer: It usually takes days to get a response & only through email. Quite frustrating.
Answer: I've always been a fan of Japanese culture. I've purchased Japanese treats before at conventions and loved them. I regret choosing TokyoTreat though.
TokyoTreat has a rating of 3.9 stars from 728 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with TokyoTreat most frequently mention subscription box, japanese snacks and new things. TokyoTreat ranks 10th among Subscription Shopping sites.
