Did you know if you order *******@ThriftBooks and a package is lost *******@UPS before they hand it off *******@USPS for final delivery no one will track it? It is simply gone. Vanished. Poof. Never existed. Reconsider *******@ThriftBooks I want to *******@amazon but alas I had to use them.
Really a lot of online don't ship out in 30 days and never received any correspondence that it did was watching for charge on credit card got busy and then it did get charged but never ever received. Will not be ordering again. Received a email from them saying haven't purchased lately from them. Geee I wonder why not.
I'd rather buy a new book in future, it took longer than I expected to be delivered also, book was cut through the pages. Looked like a knife cut
When I order a used book I don't expect a pristine copy. Over five years ordering from Thriftbooks, only one order was a disappointment. They have shipped promptly (remember, you are ordering from booksellers all over the world) and you accrue points toward FREE BOOKS as you purchase. Best of all, they are not affiliated with Amazon.
Reading the description of a book's condition gives a true account. They do offer new books as well.
I ordered a book that was labeled as "Like New," so I expected …. Like new. I was disappointed when it showed up late, was bent and had smudges/stains on the front. I'm really disappointed. I won't be ordering from this company again!
Well... this order experience was bad from all angles. I ordered a "Like New" book. I ordered a specific edition of the book, because it contained a study guide that I could use for a small group. The "Like New" book had so much underlining in it that it was hard to even read. The edition that I received was not the one with the study guide, plus the print was really small. So, all in all, this was the first time I had ordered from ThriftBooks, and it will definitely be the last time.
I had a couple of books (I thought) were missing from the order. Thriftbooks.com service department tracked them down and let me know the books were coming in a separate shipment. I will continue to do business with Thriftbooks.com.
I ordered three class sets of books, 120
Titles in each set as advertised on EBay. I received 3 individual books that were not even in the sets ordered at a value of $1.98'each. My total order was approximately $160. I understand that mistakes happen but when I called customer service they were not willing to go the extra mile to find the books I ordered. Fortunately I ordered through eBay and was able to get a refund. I was very disappointed with the whole situation as I am a teacher trying to get books for my students. The customer service agents were courteous but lacked empathy or initiative to make the situation right for the customer. I would not make a future purchase from EBay from this vendor based on my experience.
I have ordered several books from Thrift Books and have never been disappointed. I look for a decent reading copy and don't mind if it is a previous library book. The books I have gotten have been even better than described. The price for the books have been low compared to the other book sites. I always read the description of the book before I order. Haven't been disappointed yet. I keep coming back to Thrift Books.
I'm a big supporter of buying second hand items, especially when it comes to books, which is why I buy all my books from ThriftBooks. You're able to find most books you want for a really affordable price. I love being able to read something new while saving money!
I ordered around 50 books in total. The conditions as described were not what I received for nearly half of my order. Some books I ordered as hardcover came as paperback and vice-versa. Its like they literally grabbed whichever copies they had and sent them, ignoring what I actually paid for. One book marked "Like new" was nearly missing half the cover! And they want me to pay to ship it back!
I tried to reach out twice to customer service, both pre-order and after order, and they are terrible. Generic copy and paste messages. No authentic or genuine support. I understand sometimes things happen, but to be treated like poo, makes me think of your company that way. I will make sure I tell everyone I know to avoid you at all costs!
I have found that Thrift books is the most "cost effective" way to buy books for my pleasure.
The prices can't be beat, and their service couldn't be better. I am amazed at how well-treated
The used books look when they arrive. They have an unchanging customer in me...
Thriftbooks.com is perfect every time! I order all the times and so do many of my friends. Excellent selection and service. You will not be dissapointed!
Between book conditions being nowhere near as described (like new being filthy and penned notes on all the pages, dog eared, bent covers you name it…) to waiting two weeks for delivery only to find out they mailed me someone else's books and didn't have any replacements for mine that were mailed to the other person. And now to have pre paid for a long anticipated book that I've been counting down the days for that was sold as "arrives within 1-2 days from release date only to be emailed as shipped via mail innovations and will arrive within 15 days. This place is not worth ordering from there are so many good used and new bookstores that aren't lying about quality or shipping times to get more money. Capitalism at its finest.
Thriftbooks gradually increase their prices on poor quality used books. It seems like every time I place a book order with this company, the books arrive in what's supposed to be like new condition, but the pages are riddled with stained pages and many pen markings... Very poor and untrustworthy used book vendor. Years ago this business was dependable but they have gotten significantly worse over time and you just can't trust them, you never know what's going to arrive. You pay for like new or even very good and they ship you VERY POOR conditioned books, we spend a lot of money on used books and now we've been forced to shop local where we can inspect the actual book that we're purchasing. Save yourself a lot of disappointment and hassle, look for used books locally or at least with a company that has better reviews. Happy reading my literary friends.
Overall happy but lately they say porch delivery but no book. Obviously whoever they're using is saying delivered but keeping package. Oh and say you earned free book but never honored. I just want book that i've waited patiently for.
Can't even send the right book. Said the different cover has the same content. What a joke. Too punk to make it right. Don't waste your money.
This is a scam business. They advertise a book, you order it, and they give you something "similar" to it. If this happens to you, call customer service and request an immediate credit card refund and donate the book to a library. UNETHICAL business. This has happened several times to me.
Do not purchase books that are consumable that are supposedly in "good" condition which you are told have some highlighting and writing. I received two that were supposedly good condition which had writing throughout which defeats the purpose of using them for my own study. One of the books had a price sticker on it for $1.50 yet I paid $5+ and got "free' shipping. What a deal!
Years ago I purchased a book about Walter Payton that came with a DVD. Over the years I misplaced the DVD but saw the exact book on Thriftbooks that says it included the DVD. I immediately went to the book description that said the book was in very good condition and included the DVD.
I ordered the book solely to get the DVD but… you guessed it. No DVD. Only the empty DVD sleeve.
This was TOTAL misrepresentation.
Don't believe their descriptions. I totally wasted my money.
Answer: It sounds like a question you need to ask them directly.
Answer: You should think twice before paying international postal rates and customs fees for used books.
Answer: When this happens, just tell them and they'll give you a refund. Books are sent via USPS, so good luck with a tracking number. Very occasionally they will lose a shipment, and this is not Thriftbooks' fault.
Answer: Library Binding is a term used for books that are in large print.
Answer: I donate my books to the library for their book sale
Answer: I ordered through the ThriftBooks website. They send me an order confirmation email. Then they send me shipping confirmation email with tracking. Shipping confirmation emails may be sent separately for each book if they come from different locations. If you keep track of the emails, you know exactly what the situation is for your order. I have ordered over 30 books, have check on the status often, and had no problems. I'm not sure what happens if you don't have email, but is that a possibility in this day and age? If you ordered by phone, I'm not sure why you didn't call them for the status.
Answer: They do not accept checks or money orders. You need to use credit, debit (cards), or PayPal.
