“DO NOT HIRE”

Garry S.
11/24/21

We hired them after a vehicle accident. My case was settled with no problems. My wife's case was a total BS case. Mr. McCormick refused to talk with my wife, he refused to take her case to court. He was very unprofessional, rude. I would NOT recommend his law firm.

Dallas Olsen settled my case then held onto my money for over 2 months then stopped communicating with me completely until I sent a certified letter that I would be filing a complaint with the state bar

Was in an accident back in March where a driver sped through a red light and totaled my vehicle. It left my friend with a concussion, and huge scar on his face. He was offered some money from the insurance company, but the insurance companies have been fighting over liabilities since then and there is a possibility he wouldn't be able to receive about half of that money (this sum didn't include time missed from work, and my friend will barely drive at night now from the PTSD). He contacted McCormick to try and see what the options were about getting the remaining money from the other insurance company. The case manager (titles are important here) told him that she didn't have any information and that he needed to talk to one of the attorneys… but in order to speak with an attorney he needed to sign this contract. He asked, "will i have to pay your 33% fee if i sign and we decide to not move forward?" the case manager said "no, as long as we don't do anything for your case or contact the insurance company"
"well can you please wait to contact the insurance company until i speak with the attorney?" "OF COURSE"

Fast forward…. I receive a call a day later …. My accident case has been moved to another adjuster because someone hired a lawyer… that's weird? The attorney hasn't responded to any of my friend's phone calls or emails? Fine, maybe protocol? The attorney calls my friend, he says moving forward with this case is honestly a huge gamble and it's a long lengthy process to try and receive the remainder of the money. So my friend asks to withdrawal. No problem! WRONG. He receives an email with a document explaining how he is withdrawing his case and they will be charging 33% since they've done work on the case. He calls them back… what work did you do?! Well, the case manager contacted your insurance company. But don't worry, we'll try and ask your attorney's manager to waive that since we didn't really do anything (her words, not mine). THANKS!
Almost a week goes by, and no one calls or responds to an email. He called back today and the attorney again, won't answer his call. He calls reception AGAIN and says "please don't transfer me to the attorney again, can i please speak to someone else" … transfers him to Micheal who i am pretty sure is the manager we've heard so much about. Micheal proceeds to tell him that the case manager and attorney aren't taking his calls anymore because they're no longer on his case (comical at this point… like what?), he signed a document, legally they're allowed to take that money, and they have no intention of waiving the fee for a whopping 40 mins of their time. Not nice, but fine… we don't want to withdrawal then. TOO BAD. YOU FIRED US, AND WE'RE TAKING YOUR MONEY, and hangs up on him.
How do you treat people that way? How can you trust someone who acts like that and won't even return a call? My friend really needed that money and turned to McCormick for HELP and this is how he was treated. Like many reviews before mine… I would give 0 stars if i could. Don't make the same mistake of trusting them like we did. Enjoy the money, McCormick, and enjoy reading this review on every platform i can get my hands on.

They never returned my calls. I was basically left to defend myself. Decided due to their lack of communication I'd let them go... lmao they put a lean on my settlement and THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING. WONT EVEN TELL THE insurance company how much they want.

Where do I even start. How about if you are assigned this attorney expect to get the run around and a different story each and every time you are able to reach him. He is the most arrogant pompous $#*! I've ever met let alone in a professional setting. He is so unhelpful acts like you're bothering him when you try to follow up on your case. Holds YOUR CHECK for a ridiculous amount of time and for the most idiotic excuses. He is the most client combative attorney you could meet. Anything you say is irrelevant he knows everything and the client knows $#*!. Get ready to be disrespected and belittled to the tens! He should be assumed I don't even think he's competent enough to be in the position he is. He should have never passed the bar. For him it was a study and pass then all out the window. I've been trying to reach his superior Cagney to speak with him to no avail. So plz Mr. Cagney let me know how I can reach you there is several concerns I have as a client of one of yours. Id like to think this experience is not the same company wide and you just have a bad Apple. At the beginning I was speaking with a Paige and Marie I believe they were good and way more helpful and polite then this douche bag. Excuse my language I am beyond livid. Please contact me asap! Thx.! I will update my review to reflect my experience with the superior asap!

Texas attorney Cagney McCormick knew a former attorney at Bailey & Galyen had obstructed a federal investigation where the attorney had destroyed and altered records. Philip Galyen also knew his associate, Thomas Fredrick Jones aka Fred Jones, Houston attorney, had fraudulently filed a bankruptcy case. See expert report at https://www.scribd.com/document/*******/Bankruptcy-Expert-Report, In my opinion Clientss attorney did not exercise a reasonable standard of care in filing a Second Bankruptcy Case without Clients consent and signature. Indeed, in my opinion such conduct is fraudulent.

Despite the omnipresent fraud of the Bailey & Galyen law firm, Cagney McCormick furthered this fraud by hiding the client file from the client. Texas law is very clear an attorney must provide the file to the client upon request. TX Rule 1.15(d), states in part, Upon termination of representation, a lawyer shall take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client's interests. Surrendering papers and property to which the client

Although this rule is well known, and attorneys must follow the law, Cagney McCormick refused to abide by his ethical obligation to provide the client file to the client. This type of conduct is not only reprehensible but it is also an effort to cover up illegal conduct of Bailey & Galyen.

Bailey & Galyen is at best a shady, unethical, bankruptcy mill, who allows attorneys to fraudulent create records, destroy evidence, and now under the direction of Philip Galyen and Cagney McCormick continue to hide the remaining client records from the client when they are in fact obligated to produce the original file.
