  • I bought a pair of slippers from the company store and was greatly disappointed in the quality of the item.
  • No way to bring these issues to their attention either since the only customer service is email and phone.

We ordered a decorative tree when it arrived it was damaged. We sent an E-mail to customer service; we received an answer in less than 24 hours. They requested I call. The support person I spoke to was exceptionally good. In the end they could not replace the damaged tree. So, they refunded the money and shipping and let us keep the damaged product. We could not have been happier. No matter how good you are, strong customer service is important. The Company store has that.

I'm pretty shocked about this company and I haven't even received my order yet. First of all, I was offered a 20% discount from them but, as soon as I placed my order and checked out, it said I couldn't use the discount. And then I received a notice that my order had shipped, but a day later I got another email saying that one of my products was no longer available so it's been cancelled. I just hope the one product I ordered doesn't show up like the ones I've been reading in other reviews!

I purchase Jardin shams for 64.00 (the photo showed two shams). Although I was pleased with the quality of the product, I was shocked when I opened the very lightweight package ($8.00 shipping) and found only one sham. I sent an email to the company expressing my displeasure with the misleading advertising. I received a very dismissive reply - 'Iur shams are always sold singly, cwe apologize for the inconvenience '. Inconvenience? What about being ripped off and having to pay another $69.00 for another sham? I have bought much bedding from various other companies, and shams are always sold in pairs, like pillowcases. I wrote a second email that was ignored. Needless to say, I did not purchase a second, and am now trying to figure how to use one sham on my queen bed in our Airbnb. Done with this company!

In todays competitive world, selling merchandise that's not in stock is no way to run a business. In this case keeping on site low inventory does not work. Customer service has no authority can barely keep up with the with this mismanaged business and the customer suffers. Like every thing else now the price is high, quality and fit poor and eco/ethically made is nonsense as that tag is found everywhere. It's all imported junk now, inconvenient to return and you have to chase your credit. Too risky to do business with anymore.

Tip for consumers:
All Company Store reviews are true.

Products used:
I find their PrimaLoft pillows still acceptable. It's hard to answer above questions, service is inconsistent. You have to chase back ordered products and refunds. Return labels are not included when receiving merchandise.

The quality is ok but the first time i washed the sheet set it faded a ton. I spent over 200 bucks on this set which didn't even last the first wash.

I have purchased great comforters, bedding and towels from Company Store over the years and gotten high quality items. My last few purchases were on about the same level as Target. Customer service not so nice and last time I tried to make an exchange, found out they only take returns for 6 months after purchase. Why buy from you then, I can make returns at any major department store for up to a year? Now I know why its called the Company Store. Because it's not the customer's store! BYE!

The quilt I ordered starting falling apart after 30 days. I called and they sent me a new one which I had to pay for. After I received the new one I returned the old one. They notified me that they received my return, but were only refunding me a portion of the original purchase price. I called them and after they tried to blame me for the problem they discovered that it was an issue on their end. They said that they were refunding me the remainder that was owed. After waiting two weeks for the additional refund to appear on my credit card I called them again to find out where it was. They discovered that they never issued the additional refund and said they would do it now. I had to spend way too much of my time to get the refund and I hope it happens this time.

I purchased a flannel duvet cover in late september and just put it on the bed today. This is the worst! The quilt will not stay in right, there is all kinds of wrinkles and just won't lay flat. I have been using duvets for thirty years and have never had this problem. Because I will be keeping it folded at the end of the bed I can get it to smooth out, but if you want one to use as a cover do not buy a flannel duvet from this company.

I've purchased several items over the years and though I've been satisfied with the quality of the products, their customer service leaves much to be desired. I've had multiple bad customer service experiences with them. My most recent experience relates to their exchange policy. I recently purchased four pairs of slippers over the phone and when I asked if I could exchange them for a larger size if necessary, the salesperson stated I could in fact make an exchange. However, when I called to ask if I could exchange the slippers for a larger size (for the discount sales price I initially paid, I was told no. I'd have to return the item, pay the return fee, and place a new order for the regular price.

I get daily promotional items from this company, including "site-wide discount sales" that are bait and switch and/or misleading advertising in that not all items on the site are included in the promotional sale. I will no longer be a return customer. Their emails will be directed to my junk email box.

I ordered a front doormat at the end of October. It's now November 24 and still no mat. Customer service just told me it was backordered and it should be delivered Dec. 1.

I would have appreciated an e-mail informing me that it was backordered. That would have given me the choice of waiting or buying it elsewhere. Hmm. Maybe that's why I didn't get a notification of the hold-up. We'll see how the product is whenever it gets here.

The down comforter I bought was ~$300, so not their cheapest option, and more expensive than many others I saw, but heard good things from blogs, reviews so thought I'd try it out. The quilt had feathers missing from many of the boxes, and overall the amount of fluff was underwhelming (especially for the price). Even at $100 I would have been disappointed, but then I would say "hey, it's because it's cheap". To return it, I will either be reimbursed $15 if I send them a receipt, or they offer FedEx pickup but I am never home.
I had ordered the wool mattress pad from them also and love that, but the quilt ruined the experience for me. But the wool pad wasn't made by them, so that might explain why the quality was better.

Very poor quality and expensive bedding and bath items. I bought a comforter and towels. The comforter has a strange smell that I cannot get out. The sheets also were also the same. The pattern on the sheet was upside down on the top sheet. The towels were poor quality and all of it was very poor quality. But expensive.

The Company Store is stuck in the 20th century. I could not complete the order online with multiple browsers, and had to place my (large) order over the phone in a process that took thirty minutes. Their order confirmation email came plain text with no links. My delivery flagged numerous items as "back ordered", with no estimated arrival date. I had to call to get info. The dates came and went with no communication. Again I had to call. And again. It appears I will receive my items nearly 6 months after ordering, and not one email communication from them in the meantime.

My last experience with them (which actually was in the 20th century) was very positive. They were largely mail-order then. It appears their technology has not advanced in the interim.

I've purchased several items over the years from the Company Store. 2 years ago I paid over $500 for a bedding set, percale cotton sheets (which I love), a comforter (which is OK, not as nice as my lands end one), and this blue blanket that filled my washer and dryer with a pound of lint, shrunk 1/3rd of its size and is so pilled it has sat in a drawer ever since. That blanket was $130 dollars and I couldn't return because it's outside of the return window. I followed the directions for washing and care.

I've had multiple issues with their mobile ordering, you can't paste a promo code in and hit apply you have to delete a character and re-write to get it to not gray out. I've accidentally ordered duplicates and accidentally ordered 1 pillow case instead of 2, these occured on two separate orders. You can't hit the back button, it will empty your whole shopping cart. You can't shop while not logged in and then log in, it will empty your shopping cart. No way to auto-apply promo codes. No way to bring these issues to their attention either since the only customer service is email and phone.

Customer service replies to questions about colors or stock in 2-3 weeks. I ordered my daughter a quilt set and the sheets went out of stock. It took me 7 weeks to hear back that they were discontinuing them permanently. No suggestions on other sheets that would match, no familiarity with their own products so I bought everything else on Amazon.

Fulfillment is really slow for a company that is supposed to not be Wayfair or Overstock. Usually 2-3 days before the order ships and over a week to get it on top of that.

I'm just really disappointed because I loved the old Company Store. Home Depot bought them in 2017 and it has swiftly gone downhill.

I purchased what was supposed to be a cooling mattress pad from The Company Store's website - the site reviews and ratings were good so I decided to splurge on a $140 item. What I got smelled of chemicals (even after washing twice) and seemed to reflect heat back onto me rather than absorb it as advertised and suggested by reviewers. I wrote as much in an online review and decided I'd have to pay $20 or so for return shipping rather than keep this $140 mistake. To my surprise, I received a personalized apology email from the company with an offer to have the item picked up and returned at The Company Store's expense since I was dissatisfied. OK! That seemed like a good customer service move. Well, FedEx came and the pad went but I didn't get a credit for weeks. I finally called and the rep I spoke to said he'd issue credit which finally showed up on my account 4 days later. I question whether I'd have received it had I not called? Interestingly, as well, my "bad" review has never been posted on their site so the mattress pad still appears to be a big hit with customers at a 4.9 out of 5 average rating. How many other reviewers were emailed instead of posting their comments?

Meanwhile, I'd ordered a different mattress pad from them. What I got was much better than the first in terms of the over heating problem, but it shrank up quite significantly. Also, while shopping another site for something completely unrelated I found the EXACT same mattress pad for $36 versus the $109 price at the company store. Holy mark-up Batman! If I return the second pad for $20 shipping I'm still saving about $50 over the inflated Company Store. Great service and quality might be worth a few extra bucks, but marginal customer service + only publishing positive reviews + products that available for a fraction of the cost elsewhere = buyer beware!

Tip for consumers:
If you post a less-than-positive review check back to see if they publish it. Bet they won't.

I've bought a few things from The Company Store and am pretty happy with them overall. But I recently purchased a mattress pad that I didn't love. I didn't realize they didn't offer free (or discounted) returns. It's a big box and I had to pay basically a third of the price of the item to return it. My fault for not knowing in advance (I wouldn't have risked it) but I've gotten used to free returns. Won't be buying from them again because it's too expensive if you don't like something.

For a few years I have annually ordered bath sheets to refresh my supply. Those are the extra large bath towels. They are bigger than beach towels! Each year they would have a sale and you could get a bath sheet for under $30... bargain! These were nice fluffy towels that were thick and stood up to weekly washing. Well not anymore. This year the towels seemed thinner and less absorbent. After the first washing the binding on one started to come off as a thin hole formed where it was sewn. I can't even repair as the fabric has come undone.
So, I email the customer service rep and they say they can snail mail me a UPS label and I can send back the faulty towel!
I am shocked they do not know how to email a UPS label and that they didn't just send me a new towel. I am used to the good online stores that just send me a new item. They tell me to throw out the defective item. Or they could have just credited my card. But no, they want me to go to the post office and mail them their thin, torn towel from Pakistan! I told them no thanks and I'd get my bath sheets elsewhere. I am sad their quality is not so good anymore. They sell high dollar sheets by the piece too so I would save my money.

From the business

We are proud to boast more than 110 years of comfort expertise. The Company Store started out as the LaCrosse Garment Manufacturing Company in La Crosse, WI in 1911. Given frigid winters, it’s no surprise the Scandinavian immigrants living there searched for ways to keep warm, crafting the down comforters and featherbeds that were traditional back home, in addition to winter clothing made with down. That quality and craftmanship became the foundation of The Company Store.
