WHOEVER IS PLANNING ON SELLING BOOKS TO THIS SCAMMING COMPANY, PLEASE READ BEFORE RESENDING, AND SEND AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I would leave 0 stars if I could. Sent 4 books, all almost brand new condition. After 3-4 weeks I finally heard back from them saying that they received my books and in processing. I finally heard back from them today saying that they could only give me a partial refund because one of the books listed was missing. The email first stated that perhaps the box got destroyed while being delivered to them. So of course I called them and got angry and asked them to see pictures of this "destroyed box" that let ONE of my books fall out and go missing. The employee put me on hold, comes back on the phone sounding VERY hesitant and awkward, and tells me the box is fine, and that the processing department believe that it was I that lost the book or did not send it in the first place.
I am noticing many similar reviews as mine, so I know that this is not just an accident but a scam. Im checking the weights of the books and the shipped box weight, and it is clear that I did not "accidentally" leave a book out. That is what they told me thought. That it wasn't their fault, but it was I that didn't send the book.
This isn't about the money. This is about scamming people. I will make sure people hear about this.
Those 3rd party companies, like Bookscouter, that recommend online book buyback companies should reconsider using TextbookManiac as a recommended seller/buyer even if you do receive a percentage of the sales. It's just not worth it.
**EDIT**
I just received another email from someone from that company that seems to not be in the loop of this lie they were telling me. An employee by the name of Amy sent me an email saying that all four books were received, but one book is not sellable (the book they told me I had lost or forgot to ship out). I called the company freaking out that they just got red handed busted for lying to me and putting the blame on me, but the employee tried to play it off as if they made a mistake, and by default the email they sent me is the email they send to people when books are not sell-able. So for all of you that they blamed for not sending the books or losing the books, you didn't lose them. They lost them. They are either re-seling them for their own profit, or they just dont care to bother with returning the book back to you so they tell you that the book is lost.
BOTTOM LINE DO NOT SELL TO THESE LYING SCUMBAGS!
