“They have something like 300+ themes for a single price”

They have something like 300+ themes for a single price. I don't think any other site on the web offers that. I have 5 blogs and I didn't want to pay $30 for each theme so this site was affordable for me. I didn't have any issues except with 1 theme (the excerpt issue) but that was fixed after I sent in a ticket.

Website development is not my core competency by any stretch. I should have read these reviews before forking over $60. Once I paid I attempted to download a template but apparently the website had logged me out. I tried to sign on again to no avail. Reset my password... tried again but still no access. The people who perpetuate this type of fraud are scum.

I tried purchasing templates from this site. Looks like a good deal, but so many problems with the purchasing and downloading. I did get very prompt help from customer support, but nothing they suggested worked. Complete waste of time for me.

I thought it was a reputable site because it was on the hostgater dashboard. The template was made specifically for WordPress. I downloaded it and Wordpress said it was missing a file (twice) and could not upload it, it isn't usable by Wordpress. I've been trying for 6 hours to set up my first blog and I could just cry. Now, I go to the templatesold.com website and it has been blank for an hour. I can't even get to their site now. If they can't fix this, I basically threw $30 away.

Customer service is as good as they reply in 24 hours, with No helpful update every time! The wp theme has a price tag of $1 but you have to be a "member" to purchase, meaning that you will pay $30 as membership/credit. I bought BlueLine which looks beautiful but does Not have the functionality you see in their demo. I asked for a refund, was politely told it is a bit late (they were right) and gave me a new version of the theme which is as bad as the old one. Don't be deceived by the looks of their themes.

I bought a wordpress theme from templatesold. No complaints so far. I was able to download the theme and upload/install it on my blog without any issues. I contacted customer service regarding a wordpress plugin issue and got a reply the next day.

Those templates just won't work - best of all: Hostgator is recommending them in their special offer section at c-panel

Simply stated: Templatesold.com offers what they cannot expertly service. Therefore, buyer-beware.

You will have success with your blog or website template purchased through Templatesold.com ONLY if that template (or "you") meet ALL of the following criteria:

1. You are proficient in setting up your template "right out of the box", and require no additional support regarding your template.

2. Your template is free of "bugs" and never requires additional technical support that you cannot personally provide.

3. Your website never generates an error message relative to your template that you cannot resolve yourself.

4. Your technical expertise is more competent than that of Templatesold "Support" (which by definition implies that you don't really need Templatesold Support, and would be very wise to avoid creating a Templatesold Support Ticket: do so at your own risk).

5. Your time is not important to you, and wasting your time is a trivial matter.

6. You do not mind never having your Support Ticket addressed or "fixed" correctly the first time... or the second time... or maybe even the third time... or... worse.

7. You possess exceeding patience if a Support resolve breaks your website and Support hedges responsibility for this outcome.

8. You are a natural-born masochist.

In conclusion, if you meet ALL of the aforementioned criteria; you will have a thoroughly enjoyable experience with Templatesold.com.

The idea is good, but I've been having a lot of trouble with their WordPress templates. There are some pretty big PHP code issues when you interface it with WP 3.0. Tried 5 different templates and each had the same problem.

It seems as though these guys just want your money. All the templates that I have downloaded need extensive updating to be used in a normal website. No menu support, sometimes no sidebar support & just static html where the side bar is, sometimes there are missing divs, or the template breaks if you remove certain sidebar elements. Very frustrating.
Also, the slide shows have no admin support, so you're expected to update the slider images inside the home. Php code - seriously, this point alone is shocking.
Stay away unless you just need ideas for your own templates & are prepared to get your hands dirty. Definitely not for beginners - stay away, these templates will show you how a Wordpress template is not meant to be coded.

I spent an hour choosing 4 templates only to find that the minimum purchase is $30, so I had to go back and go through all the templates again.

Then I discover that many of the templates I chose were missing from the shopping cart and had to do it again.

Then I thought I was making a purchase and found that the items were still in the cart. THERE IS NO instructions on buying from them. What I did was just put money into their site then I had to finish the purchase but tech support help because it is not intuitive.

Then the templates don'; t work and I ask for my money back. Then after asking again they finally tell me that I have to unzip the files, then zip one of the folders and upload that one, not the original one.

That one uploaded and installed but I found that there were NO options available. I could not even change the header image. So the "100 configuration options" that they claim is available for all their templates is a LIE.

Yeah just opened a claim on Paypal regarding them. Their code is junk like Brandy Q said. However I don't see much wrong with her posted code except the widths. They make all their themes far too wide which creates problems. So anyone here saying that they don't have problems is either;
A: lying
B: got very lucky with a 3rd party developers theme
C: exaggerating quality and don't know enough to see the difference.
I see some five stars and four stars which makes me question the integrity of the posters themselves. There's no way they get 4 stars no matter what. You can't search the website! They don't have a search. I had to load 43 pages to find out that the theme I signed up for didn't exist there and the help desk wouldn't load. These are all facts.

I purchased a hosting account from BlueHost and in their control panel they recommended TemplateSold. I splurged $59 and signed up for a year.

Turns out, all the templates on the site, every single one of them, is sold old that they look they were designed for WordPress 2. X. Contrary to the promise, none of the templates support Custom Menus, Home Page Control Panel, Slideshow etc. Not one of the promise made on the templates page is delivered.

Even the versions available on the website are old. If you complaint, they send you an "Update". Which ofcourse turns out to be equally non-functional.

Bad company products. First, there are issues with accessing the site. They promise instant account access--NOT! It took over 12 hours to gain access and 8 emails from 7 pm to 8:30 in the morning. Then if they generate a password for you, they give you passwords that you can't tell if it's a number 1 or the letter l or the letter i, a zero or the letter O, so you have to cut & paste the password all the time. If you change the password to something you can remember, they never update it so I was stuck with cutting & pasting. The instructions provided for template upload didn't work. Then 24 hour 7 days per week support is totally not available. You can only communicate with them via email. (No phone support. I found out they are located in Australia--I guess they never heard of Magic-Jack or Skype calling or Google calling) You are totally at their mercy as to how long it takes to get a response-after a certain hour it will be about 8 hour wait. When you communicate with sales, then the same person does tech support--how weird. Then their instructions don't match the capability of word press-that's what the site claims it's is intended for. Then when they do get back to you (who knows when) they give you instructions as if you are a professional web designer... they recommended vague-nebulous remedies like "alter the coin_slider. Php orXML... WHAT IS THAT? No instructions as to what it is, where it's at or how to alter it. And then after hours of finding it, you pull it up and it's complete scripts and code. If I knew how to do these things I'd develop my own template. What would I need them for!? What's even worse, several of the templates I wanted to use did not work! When pages were created, nothing looked anything like the template; the pages were bland and unprofessional looking-worse than my own creations. They were so unappealing I didn't even try to do anything with them-yuck! Then they claim they have thousands of templates. They really have maybe 50 to 100 or so that they have altered a thousand ways. Just a repeat of the same few templates with different color, titles, pictures, under many categories. So that's a scam. I really believe that this company is a true SCAM! Their products don't work, the service is bad and just a waste of your life hours (about 35 hours of my life in a span of 5 days) trying to get their products to work---well, they don't work!

A bit of a scam! I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase of it, they do not respond to customer queries AT ALL and they do not give your money back if you are not happy (as their site suggests a 30 day money back period)

I purchased the HighWood WordPress template from TemplateSOLD.com and installed it as directed by the instructions. However, when the installation was complete the template was completely off. The javascript slideshow would not rotate the photos, it simply listed them in an awkward list. It showed the images incorrect sizes and none of the margins on the CSS file lined up. The display template on their website was 100% different than the one purchased. When I requested that they look at it, they told me to consult my web designer. When I gave them step-by-step directions of how I installed it they shrugged me off and told me again to go to my web designer.

This template has improper coding, and I can prove it!

I had to change the Style Sheet:
Line 51: #nav1 ul { margin: 0; padding: 155px 0 0 0;}
Line 52: #nav1 ul. Sf-menu li { position: relative; float: left; line-height: 90px; padding: 100 1px 0 0; text-align: left;}
Line 77: #columns { margin: 0 auto; padding: 25px 0 0 0; width: 970px;}
Line 215: #slider { width: 970px; padding: 0; margin: 0px auto 9px; background: url(images/slider_bg. Png) bottom center no-repeat; height: 300px}

The blog didn't even post blogs! It only posted excerpts! To fix this, I had changed to Single Post file:
Line 34: div class="post-content"
Line 35:? Php the_content();?

The images on the template were not sized properly, I had to change the Slide_Block file to show a single image with proper size:
Line 5: img src="<? Php bloginfo('template_directory');?>/images/simple_img_1. Jpg" alt="screen 1" border="0"

I purchased a "membership" to this site. I was able to install the theme following the directions in the readme file. I also installed the plugins, per the instructions; however, none of the plugins supplied with the theme are compatible with WP 3.0 or higher.

I wrote to the company and they did repair the problems created by the plugins. However, they have not responded to my requests for information on the rotating slides, which appear only as a list.

I did try to install a more recent version of piecemaker, but I got more errors.

This site does not specify that the themes do not work with WP 3.0+, nor does it provide much in the way of support.
