Worst service, taskrabbit's contractors are scammers. They just charge card, no matter the taskers completed the work or not. This plumber Victor doesnot know how to fix kitchen sink disposal, he could not finish the work. Infact he messed up everything. My card details were there in taskrabbit app, so he just charge my card without complete the kitchen sink disposal task/ plumbing

Ikea recommendation for self assembly wardrobes. The sensor light should go off when door closes...it doesn't. One handle not put on...I would need to drill hole myself to do...the worst of it he's made to holes in 2 doors by error and patched it up with white plastic dowels. Task Rabbit have offered me £38 credit to get another tasker out! What a con. Do not use at all. And I have no means of contacting the assembler as this can only be done via TR platform

Hired a few taskers over the years but LATELY I am noticing that taskers are cherry picking jobs. They respond to the job, ask questions, want pics, then suddenly say "well darn my schedule just got booked up" especially if its a smaller job on a weekend. TASK RABBIT charges your card anyway and there is no way to report this behavior.

I have used this app a few times to hire taskers. In all cases they did great job. My only complaint is how terrible the app is. It's difficult to navigate.

I'm a big fan of "gig" apps like this one, but TaskRabbit fails to deliver on a number of fronts. Most importantly, the Taskers themselves are unreliable. They book jobs and fail to show up. They don't respond to job requests. And, it is almost impossible to follow up or track your jobs. The app developers need to rethink the platform. (May i recommend Rover.com... excellent app and process... TaskRabbit could learn a LOT!) Finally, they need to have a better way to vet their taskers and hold them accountable. If i can't get someone to shovel snow properly, there is no way i'm going to have them do electrical work!

Had a child's bunkbed to be assembled and taskrabbit assign someone and he had little knowledge on how to assembled the bed. Took 6 hrs to put bed togather. Their site say 2.5 hrs. Called and they credit 2hrs. Still the gave him 4.5 hrs to do a child's bed. He was not qualified to do the job i had to help in the process. 3hrs is all he should get paid for. They will not give another credit of 1 hrs I will never use them again.

This experience was awful. My first time ordering from IKEA turned out to be a nightmare. My bunk bed got delivered with a whole box missing. Then I had several taskers cancel on me. After calling task rabbit I was quoted a $25/hr price with a reduction of $10 for my inconvenience. $200 later was the final price after the tasker finished putting the bed together. Still trying to figure out how a $65 job turned into $200. This was my first and last time ordering from IKEA and using task rabbit. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

Tip for consumers:
Make sure they show up on time and get a total price beforehand.

Before you use this company, you need to realize that they will not necessarily stand behind their Tasker's as they are contracted workers and not employees. We had some staining work done, and the person we hired made a complete mess of the job costing us thousands of dollars to remove spills and shoddy workmanship. Please understand that the task is qualifications are not verified. They can write anything they want in their profile. The person we hired was very nice but in way over his head and never admitted such. Taskrabbit did refund our money but only after weeks of back-and-forth via email and chat as they do not offer an option to speak with the claims team any other way. You cannot call them and discuss your claim.

Buyer beware with this company.

Task Rabbit should let you know how long your tasker has been doing this job. I would want someone with more knowledge and better time management of putting IKEA items together. I will never use this service again, the workers are inexperienced in putting the IKEA items together. If I wanted my purchase to look like I have had it for years I would have put it together myself.

As a tasker, you are expected to schedule your availability on the app. Even on the days you are not scheduled, you are expected to respond to task requests. The tasks are non-urgent and are not same day tasks. Task Rabbit will communicate with clients that the tasker must be busy and sorry that they are unable to fulfill your request. Task Rabbit should let the taskers respond to the client on the morning of the available day for these non-urgent task requests. TR makes the tasker look like they are not responding but does not add the fact that the tasker is not on duty.

Tip for consumers:
Some taskers are not available on the days you request the task so Task Rabbit sends you a response, not the tasker sending you a response.

I will never recommend Task Rabbit employee, I was referred by Ikea to install closets and the person couldn't finish the job, I paid through TR but they promised to come back but skipping every day and left the job in the middle, I shouldn't trust their word. Stay away from Task Rabbit people

Overall, it's a good concept, but I've probably used this app for the last time. In the olden days, their "trust and support fee" was very fair and reasonable. But now it's like 35%. Customer service is seldomly an option. You have to write an email, but they're difficult to get in touch and rarely respond to inquiries when you need help or an answer. Using the chat rarely gets you live help and sometimes they respond to emails and sometimes they don't. Like I contacted them 4 times and they only answered the first time. There is no phone number. I think 35% for a platform with such poor customer service, is unreasonable - especially given their biggest job is computers processing payments and them just deducting more fees. I hired someone to help move some furniture. The labor for this last job was roughly $70. There was a truck rental fee for $87. The service fee on the $70 labor was $28, so with the fees it totaled $191. The fees are just on the labor (I think?) But the real kicker was when I tried to send a tip the only way to do it is to choose from 5 options: no tip, 10%, 15%, 20% or 25%, ON THE TOTAL! Why no custom percentage and no custom dollar amount options? I was happy to tip 20% or even more, for the labor/Tasker, but not on the Taskrabbit service fees (obviously Taskrabbit thinks they deserve this tip) and a tip on the truck rental. The "help" section says "Taskers receive 100% of their tips" which probably means that Taskrabbit must keep the tip on their service fee and probably on the expenses and taskers probably just get the tip on the labor. I find this abominable and utterly lacking in integrity. What a massive scam. I highly recommend you look elsewhere or make sure if you use them, to tip the tasker directly with cash to avoid such ridiculousness.

Tip for consumers:
I'd give most tasker I've hired 4 or 5 stars but the company gets 0-1 star.

I hired an Elite Tasker with a truck to help move. He confirmed on Tuesday, but was a no-show on our move day. Did not call or alert me in anyway. When my second tanker arrive and shared who else was coming he told me that he had a reputation for not showing up. How is this okay. He should not be an Elite Talker if he is not reliable,

I hired this fellow Taylor Corbit off of TaskRabbit to do some minor fix-it work, garden work and moving soil and rock to my back yard, from the driveway.

He did the first half with no problem but because he didn't have a wheelbarrow, I offered to invest in his hard work and swing for a good wheelbarrow. $300.00 One half he would work off finishing moving the dirt and rock to my back yard. He agreed, shook on it and he was to return the next Sunday.

No call no show. I called and he gave me a sob story about his dog dying at the vets. I bought it...I had a beloved pet who died too and it was traumatic. Benefit of the doubt; I said stay home, take care of what you need to do and I would see him the next Sunday. Only it was Easter...so once again I said spend time with your family and he agreed to show up this Tuesday 4/11/23.

NO Show. Ghosted. Called TaskRabbit...no help.

I am a recently widowed elder; my husband and I worked remodeling and landscaping for 30 years. We made part cash and part trades for equipment all the time with no problems. WE KEPT OUR WORD. Not today; people blow you off as a sucker for helping them succeed.

Well never again. It's a lot of garden soil and rock to be moved. I will do it 4 buckets a day until it is all out of my driveway. Slow, but at least no one else will rip me off.

To keep it short, my tasker installed a small shelf (crooked) and took 2 hours and then "fixed" my sink's sprayer hose. The pictures tell it all.

I needed next-day assistance to move an armoire from an already loaded vehicle into my home. Having had good experiences with Taskrabbit previously, I booked two movers for the next morning. The next morning brought torrential rains, so I contacted both movers directly (as directed by Taskrabbit instructions) to re-schedule. Both were able to re-schedule for the next morning. One arrived as scheduled, the other cancelled literally within 60 minutes of the move. This news was delivered to me by email by Taskrabbit central communication, so I didn't see the email until just before the other mover arrived. The Taskrabbit email indicated that they had tried and could not find a replacement. Stressed out I realized I would still have to pay the mover who showed up, but yet he would not be able to move this item alone. I started calling other nearby moving companies and neighbors to find someone who was available to fill in at the last minute. This cost me an additional $300 on top of the fact that Taskrabbit charged me double for the mover who did show up (I was charged a two-hour minimum for their mover which was double the agreed upon cost---the booking agreement was for a one-hour minimum) for a job that took literally less than 30 minutes. I subsequently learned that they have very taskers- like 18 people-- in this very large metropolitan area, so be careful- you may be stuck and it will be expensive! They have no back-up options if your movers decide to "no show."

Their software is full of holes and glitches, some of which can cause both the tasker and the customer problems. Problems require customer service solutions and I've found their service to be non existent to incompetent neglect.

My experience reflects general customer review trends - TR does not vet skills, just requires background checks which taskers must actually pay. I've lucked out with a couple of multiskilled veterans but unlucky with a few problematic taskers.

Reading the taskers' side of experience, TR reminds me of Uber in their treatment and one-sided metrics systems. I personally prefer not to support businesses with history of unfair or poor treatment of good workers. I've used TR multiple times in the last several months, various categories. Too many issues and problems, so I can't recommend them at all. Too bad because it's hard to get small projects done by larger companies.

I've worked for task rabbit for maybe three months, when things are fine and you complete your tasks well enough, all is ok, but as soon as there's even the slightest problem which may not even be your fault, the start messing around with your account, for instance; you can book your hours or expenses, you cannot contact them for support, even worse, then reduce your ratings for no aparant reason.

No way to change a booking time. Hooked me up with someone who emailed back that he was not comfortable doing the work I needed done. (Breaker in a breaker box needed changing out) So why pair me with this person? Very frustrating. I suggest using Home Advisor instead. They called me right away after I visited their website. I just wanted this job to get booked so I could use my time for other things. Instead, I've wasted time dealing with them. Never again.

If you are a Tasker and have a sick kid, and have to cancel early more than a once or twice of times, a nameless person in Policies dep will politely fire you by email and you have no recourse. Even if you've done stellar work consistently, tough beans. Do No let TR be your only gig, bc though they have some pros, they have little understanding when it comes to such things. As they say, such conduct degrades the TR platform" and with their magic anonymous email wand the flow of jobs vanishes w no warning.

I was tired of Taskrabbit taking such a big cut of my rate. I built a new app called "Dayworks "
Dayworks is free to workers and only charges $1.99 to hire. Right now it is just mainly for construction trade but more categories will be coming soon. We are available on Google Play and iTunes. You can also check out dayworks.net.

I applied to be a Task Rabbit, followed up a couple weeks later. I received a scripted response (tacky) that not everyone who applies is hired because they don't want to saturate the market. I was surprised and disappointed as I'd heard very good things about them. No recommendations from me

Do not use! It's a scam! Look at their horrible star rating!
Taskrabbits' business model is hitting your wallet hard and fast using a well known thief called Mediocrity. All they do is save you the time to find a good cleaner. They have cheap labor come and do a half assed job while you pay them a premium price. Their customer support is useless and with their desperate first to market scale quickly model it shows they don't care at all how you feel about your experience of being ripped off.

Its a fantastic platform but they dont pay taskers much, other platforms take around 30% but this company takes almost half of what tasker earns, which drives taskers taking clients outside app. Maybe thats what Taskrabbit think, that taskers steal clients so lets charge them properly! Surely some will do but most taskers want a security payment and prefer to do it on app.
Or you should introduce system where more active taskets get higher commision. But anything over 40% is too much sorry.

I moved into my first condo this week -- a lot of packing, moving, cleaning, painting, etc. I did most of it myself with the help of a couple friends, but the painting and cleaning I hired two different Taskers to do. First the painter cancelled 1/2 hour before he was to show up. Then the cleaner goes MIA the morning of the task, and I never hear from him again. Both of these guys had great reviews and decent communication at first, but then they bailed. There's no accountability for them either -- TaskRabbit doesn't seem to allow you to leave subjective reviews for these people. The most I could do was click a button that said the 2nd Tasker was a no-call, no-show. Very poorly run business. What a disappointment. And talk about leaving someone high and dry!
