Nine years ago I applied for, and recieved, a Tangerine Cashback MasterCard. All went well, so I then opened a Chequing account and arranged to have my pay cheques directly-deposited into my new Chequing account. I once ordered a large-sum "Money Order" from Tangerine for the purpose of purchasing a car. The Money Order arrived via Courrier, no problem. One day my physical Tangerine MasterCard stopped working. The account was in great shape, and I could still purchase Online, where I type-in the credit card details, however, physically, the MasterCard was useless. It stopped working physically, could no longer pay for groceries or gasoline using the physical card. I called Tangerine to correct the problem and replace my MasterCard. Thisi s when I was exposed to HOURS of WAITING on hold on the telephone, followed by communicating with Tangerine staff who are not able to speak either official Language normally used in Canada. What a complete f#@king NIGHTMARE experience, simply triny to replace a physical MasterCard. I then visited "Trust Pilot" and read HUNDREDS of complete horror stories concerning Tangerine Bank. Can you imagine trying to access your money, and you can't, because Tangerine has "locked" you banks accounts (for your Safety, of course, lol!). These people do NOT answer the telephone, and hours later, after answering the telephone, you discover that they do NOT speak English or French that you can recognize, plus, they have ZERO authority to actually make decisions and take action. Time for me to wake-up and smell the coffee. Every two weeks my pay cheques are now being deposited inside of a brand new Chequing account that I opened with the Bank of Montreal, the account costs me only $4 per month. I now sleep in peace, every night. I have access to my money 24/7/365. Merci Bank of Montreal.
